The ancient town of Suzhou in the Jiangnan region has a long history and culture

As the saying goes, 'Just as there is paradise in heaven, there are Suzhou and Hangzhou on earth.' Lili ancient town in Wujiang, Suzhou, is a well-preserved typical Jiangnan ancient town. Lili, formerly known as 'Pear Flower Village,' has a history of nearly nine hundred years and has been known since ancient times as one of the 'Four Lis' of Jiangnan, along with Tongli, Wuxing's Zhili, and Changshu's Guli. The core protection area of the ancient town has more than 97,000 square meters of Ming, Qing, and Republic of China architecture. It holds numerous historical relics from the Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing dynasties, and the Republic of China. Since the Southern Song dynasty, Lili has been a gathering place of culture and talent, producing one top scholar, 26 Jinshi, and 61 Juren. Patriotic poet, leader of the Nanshe, Liu Yazi, China's first-generation movie star Yin Mingzhu, and international judge Ni Huiru were all from Lili.
