Ancient town in Chongqing

The Ciqikou ancient town is a great place to visit on a hot day. It’s only a few minutes walk away from Ciqikou metro station. Inside the town there are plenty of snack and drink cafés situated between the small lanes. There are lots of shops selling postcards, jewellery and spices. We found an old shop which was selling old reading material, vases, cameras, coins e.t.c. We had to do some bargaining but we bought some vintage jewellery, old camera and even a red book translated into English. We caught a taxi which cost 18rmb from Yuzhong district. From here we visited Longquandong Taoist temple which was another 10 minute drive away, which was unfortunately closed, but had beautiful views.
