The temple on the grass dam - Bangtuo Temple

Bangtuo Temple is located on the bank of Zequ River in Rongmu Da Township, Rangtang County, Aba Prefecture. This temple belongs to the Nyingma sect (Red Sect) of Tibetan Buddhism. The existing cultural relics include the Lama Pagoda and the stone-carved Tibetan scriptures. In Tibetan, it means 'the temple on the grass dam'. Surrounded by green mountains and clear waters, Bangtuo Temple is full of birdsong and fragrance. The ancient temple's prayer flags flutter in the wind, and pilgrims come in an endless stream. Here, more than five or six hundred years of white pagodas stand tall. Among them, the Demon-subduing Pagoda contains some Ming Dynasty Buddha statues and murals, which is the oldest Lama Pagoda in the pagoda group.
