Yogyakarta - Walking Through the River of History.
Fly from Jakarta to Yogyakarta, and use Grab to get a taxi from the airport to the city center, which costs around 300k IDR. The hotel we stayed at was quite nice, with a large supermarket nearby. We rented a car for a day and visited Borobudur, the Water Castle, and Prambanan. At Borobudur, you need to change into the slippers provided by the site. The weather was hot but perfect for photos. In the afternoon, we went to Prambanan and witnessed a stunning sunset. A perfect day~
Relax at Melia Hotel before setting off on a trip to Yogyakarta to see Borobudur and the Water Palace.
After staying in Surabaya for 10 days, I took a train to the second stop of my trip to Indonesia: Yogyakarta. I stayed in a duplex suite at Melia Purosani Hotel Yogyakarta. Yogyakarta, Indonesia is located in the heart of Java Island, surrounded by mountains and tropical rainforests. The mysterious ancient city atmosphere makes this city unique. It is undeniable that people come to Yogyakarta for Borobudur. The construction of Borobudur can be traced back to the 9th century AD. It was buried in volcanic ash for hundreds of years due to a volcanic eruption and was not excavated until the 19th century. The magnificent scenery is humbling. Watching the sunrise and sunset here is the purest thing.
The Water Palace was once the private garden of the Sultan's Palace and is known as the "Water Castle". It was built by Portuguese architects in the 18th century and combines gorgeous European, Javanese, and Chinese styles. The exquisite degree is amazing. After making a strategy, I went to these two places before staying at Melia Purosani Hotel Yogyakarta for a few days to relax. The last time I came to Yogyakarta was eight years ago. I stayed at Sheraton, Hyatt, Amanjiwo, and this time I changed a few hotels. Melia is very conveniently located and you can walk to the Sultan Palace of Yogyakarta and the Water Palace.
Melia Purosani Hotel Yogyakarta is full of tropical rainforest style. The most exciting thing is the hotel's El Patio Restaurant. Dining in the lush garden and experiencing the authentic Javanese style. My room is directly opposite the hotel's executive lounge. Every afternoon's cocktail happy hour, you can also enjoy the charming sunset and sunset, adding a romantic atmosphere to my holiday time!
When you come to Yogyakarta, don't miss the Javanese cuisine at El Patio Restaurant in Melia Hotel.
The Melia Purosani Hotel in Yogyakarta, full of tropical rainforest style, is the first hotel I stayed in Yogyakarta, the second stop of my two-month Indonesian tour. Yogyakarta is located in the south of Java Island, close to Central Java Province. It is famous for its culture, traditional food, beaches, art, etc.
Malioboro Street in Yogyakarta is the center of tourists and backpackers. It is a few minutes' walk from Melia Hotel. This street extends from the Yogyakarta Monument in the north to the Yogyakarta Post Office intersection in the south. This street is also part of the Yogyakarta Cosmic Philosophy Axis. The Yogyakarta Cosmic Philosophy Axis is actually an imaginary line, and it has officially become a UNESCO World Heritage Site last year. The 6-kilometer-long Yogyakarta Cosmic Philosophy Axis runs through many historical landmarks. These landmarks are connected through the traditional ceremonies and management systems of the Sultanate, forming an axis based on Javanese culture, with spatial concepts and philosophical connotations.
I stayed at Melia for a few days and would go for a walk on this road every day. I like the atmosphere! As for the hotel, what excites me the most every day is to enjoy authentic Javanese cuisine at the hotel's open-air restaurant El Patio Restaurant! Among them, my favorite dishes are Sumatran hot and sour Padang sauce stewed beef coriander soup, Javanese shredded chicken turmeric soup, vermicelli and white cabbage, locally called Soto Ayam, and North Sulawesi Minado's spicy turmeric and chili sauce stewed fish, and the grilled chicken marinated with chili, shrimp paste, tamarind and coconut sugar in the Lesser Sunda Islands. Each dish is delicious!
