There are three piers: • Hakone-machi Pier • Moto-Hakone Pier • Togendai Pier For this trip, we chose to take the cable car to Togendai Station and then walk to the boat pier. It was convenient and allowed us to do several activities in one day! 🚠➡️🚢 ⭐ My favorite highlight: ❤️ You can walk up to the top deck of the boat to enjoy the view or take photos with the boat itself. This time in Hakone, we chose to stay at "Sumeisho," which is super close to Hakone-Yumoto Station! Just cross a pedestrian bridge and turn a corner, and it's about a five-minute walk with luggage—perfect location! ✔️ The hotel staff are mostly older, but basic English communication is no problem at all, and most importantly, they are all very friendly 🥹. There's a public bath, as well as private onsen baths that can be booked (¥2200/50mins). I highly recommend the private baths; the view is beautiful, and soaking in them is incredibly relaxing! However, you need to book in advance at check-in, otherwise, they might be fully booked. We brought our 7-month-old baby, and they provided a baby bathtub, baby bath supplies, and even a high chair—so thoughtful! Completely family-friendly accommodation 💯 Dinner was also very plentiful, with exquisite and delicious Japanese cuisine. The only minor drawback is that there's only one elevator, so the wait can be quite long during peak hours. Overall, I highly recommend it. Taking a break from the busy schedule to soak in the hot springs in Hakone♨️, I found this amazing Japanese onsen ryokan near Gora Station! Fell in love on the spot, and I’m coming back next month! Hakone Gora-an Japanese Ryokan is perfectly located, just a 5-minute walk from Chuo-Gora Station🚶‍♀️, super convenient transportation. We were very close to Owakudani and the Hakone Open-Air Museum, and after playing all day, we could return to the hotel anytime to soak in the hot springs~ The rooms are authentically Japanese style and very spacious! The best surprise was that some room types come with a private open-air onsen, soaking with my sisters while enjoying the mountain view🌄—who else gets this feeling! The public onsen is also fantastic, leaving your skin silky smooth after a soak~ The kaiseki meals with two meals a day were so exquisite! The plating was stunning, and the ingredients were incredibly fresh🍱—the most heartfelt hotel meal I’ve ever had! The lobby also offers free sake🍶 and coffee, a perfect match for a little drink after soaking! The tatami mats in the room are super comfortable, and lying down instantly melts away fatigue. Stayed at Hotel Clad Gotemba — loved the Mt Fuji view room! It comes with free public onsen access and is only 3 mins walk to Gotemba Premium Outlets. There’s a complimentary shuttle bus between the outlet and Gotemba Station (do check the timing!). Gotemba sits nicely between Mt Fuji and Hakone, making it a great base. Day 1: Arrived in Gotemba, checked in, relaxed at the hot spring, and shopped at the outlets. Day 2: Spent the whole day at Mt Fuji. I used the Fuji-Hakone 3-Day Pass — it covers buses, subways, and entrances to many attractions in both areas. Make sure to catch the last shuttle bus back to the hotel! I've been to Tokyo about five times, and each time, in addition to sightseeing in Tokyo, I've also planned trips to surrounding cities. Some of these trips are suitable for two or three-day trips, while others can be completed on a single day, but they're all worth a visit! 🏞️ Hakone: Famous for its hot springs and Mount Fuji views, must-see attractions include trying the black eggs at Ōwakudani, visiting the torii gates at Hakone Shrine, and taking in the stunning scenery from a pirate ship on Lake Ashi. 🚆 Transportation: Take the Odakyu Romancecar from Shinjuku to Hakone-Yumoto, about 90 minutes. 🗻 Lake Kawaguchiko: The most popular of the Fuji Five Lakes, it offers the best views of Mount Fuji. We recommend the Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge and the Tenjoyama Ropeway. You might also consider Fuji-Q Highland for its thrilling roller coaster and terrifying haunted house! I bought my physical Hakone Kamakura 3-Day Pass in Taiwan and redeemed it at the Odakyu service counter at Shinjuku West Exit. I was impressed by the excellent English language skills in Shinjuku! Many staff members even spoke Chinese and were very helpful! It was truly amazing! ❤️ The main difference between the Hakone Kamakura 3-Day Pass and the Hakone Freepass is that the former offers unlimited free rides from Shinjuku to Hakone, while the latter only allows one round-trip ride! The price difference is less than 200 yuan. This service, along with the free ride on the Kamakura Enoden Electric Railway, is a real bargain! The main issue is that accommodation in Hakone is incredibly expensive, and nearby businesses close early. If you're not going to the hot springs, it's best to just return to Shinjuku or stay along the line! Otherwise, your wallet will be ruined! 🥲 Also, if you wake up early and the weather is bad, avoid traveling to Hakone by public transportation. There's a high chance the cable car will be out of service, making it difficult to get good photos. 🥹 And most importantly, get there early! Most transportation closes before 5:00 PM, and even Shinjuku taxis take a long time to arrive, so it's not recommended to leave home until 9:00 AM. My experience is that I'd try to leave at 6:00 AM next time... If the weather isn't great, it's still possible to explore the Kamakura and Enoshima areas. If you have time, be flexible and have a wonderful experience!

I went on a relaxing and rejuvenating trip to the hot spring inn "Hanaori" in Hakone♨️✨ From the inn, you get a stunning view of Lake Ashi, surrounded by lush nature🌿. The air is so fresh that just taking a deep breath feels refreshing! After warming up in the natural hot springs, it's time for a delicious feast🍽️💖. And guess what... the alcohol is all-you-can-drink🍷! (Be careful not to overindulge⚠️ haha) At the footbath terrace, you can gaze at the lake while unwinding, or enjoy some snacks in the super cute lounge☕🍰. Every spot is picture-perfect, and the laid-back, luxurious atmosphere truly soothes the soul✨. Getting there is super easy too! There's a shuttle bus from Odawara Station, so access is a breeze🚌.
