Manchester - Bamford Edge
At the end of December 2023, I was hiking in the Peak District of Manchester, UK; the impressive wind was so strong that I had to stand firm to prevent my less than 50 kg body from taking off~
The weather was not good, it was raining and sunny, but on the way down the mountain, I still felt the warm sun; the most healing thing was the sheep with green butts along the way, and the horses in red down jackets; what surprised me even more was that the pony was not afraid of humans at all. It slowly approached me, got close to me, allowed me to touch its mane, and in the exchange of eyes, I seemed to be able to feel its loneliness. Perhaps it, like us at some times, needs friends, needs playmates

Kinder Scout Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
曼徹斯特出發Peak District 行山 人氣行山徑 Jacobs Ladder Kinder Scout
🇬🇧
📍Jacobs Ladder - Kinder Low - Kinder Scout
⏰Duration: 5 hours (including time to take video and photo)
🚆Public Transport from Manchester: ✔️
From Mamchester Piccadailly
To Edale Train Station
Route I tried:
Edale > Barber Booth > Dalehead Bunkhouse > Jacobs Ladder > Kinder Low > Kinder Scout > Jacobs Ladder > Upper Booth > Edale
Difficulty: 3/5
I have tried the route in All Trials - Jacobs Ladder and Kinder Scout Circular. But i will recommend it in other way. The first part I will recommend go through the path to upper booth, it would be easier and more clear route in this way. It is spacious and have some instruction.
After that, you will see Jacobs Ladder, it was amazing! Tbh I like Jacobs Ladder so much, it also suitble for mountain biking. Even it is fantastic in Jacobs Ladder, please take care of yourself and if you feel tires, just take a rest and drink water.
Then it would be the check point of Kinder Low and Kinder Scout, the view is great, after that you can also see different rocks and can take a lot of picture there!
Finally I didn't follow the route in the apps and I just get back via Jacob's Ladder again than back to Upper Booth, ending at Edale Train station.
⭐️Be careful of the steep road in Jacobs Ladder
⭐️Dogs friendly
⭐️Suitable for mountain biking
⭐️Remember to wear hiking shoes and bring enough water

Mam Tor, often referred to as the "Shivering Mountain," is a prominent hill located near Sheffield in the Peak District National Park, England. Rising to an elevation of 517 meters (1,696 feet), Mam Tor is a beloved natural landmark known for its stunning panoramic views and geological significance.
One of its remarkable features is the Great Ridge, a striking limestone edge that connects Mam Tor to the neighboring Lose Hill. Hikers and nature enthusiasts flock to this area to embark on scenic walks along the ridge, offering breathtaking vistas of the Hope Valley and the surrounding countryside. The hill's name, "Mam Tor," is derived from a combination of Old English and Celtic words, meaning "Mother Hill," emphasizing its ancient and enduring presence.
Mam Tor's geological history is equally fascinating, with evidence of landslides and unstable slopes, giving it the nickname "Shivering Mountain." Visitors can explore the remnants of the abandoned road that once connected Sheffield to Chapel-en-le-Frith but was repeatedly disrupted by landslides, highlighting the dynamic forces at play in this captivating natural wonder. Winnats Pass
This is one of the best hikes i’ve ever had . It’s located in the peak district. Though it’s just only a hill but the view up there is jaw dropping. We’ve met some new friends and it was really fun.
So, after reaching at the top, we had our lunch over there, took a rest, and climbed down eventually. There’s also a cave somewhere and i think it will be amazing if we still have much time. #tripblazers #peakdistrict #uk #uk #england
Peak Walking Adventures Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
peak district hiking
Embarking on a hiking adventure in the Peak District of England, I witnessed the magnificent beauty of nature. Strolling through undulating mountain peaks, surrounded by swirling clouds, felt like entering a realm of enchantment. The stone paths beneath my feet bore the marks of time's passage, and distant valleys held an air of profound mystery. Each step presented a challenge of courage and perseverance, yet upon reaching the summit, all sacrifices seemed trivial. In this serene and magical land, I not only conquered the mountains but also discovered the strength deep within my soul. This mountainous journey was not just a test of the body but a baptism of the spirit.
