Juyuan Orchard - Less Crowd More Activities

The weather was forecasted to be good and both my wife and I schedule was less busy thus decided to step out with the kids for them to ride their scooter and enjoy the weather. We were looking for a park that was not crowded and found Juyuan Orchard which is approximately 20mins from our place. The park is located in Jiading district, its open from 8.30 to 5pm and adult ticket cost 30rmb. Its free for kids. The park has many activities to enjoy. You can go fishing, feed animals, fruit picking, kart racing, etc. We took them to the kids playground which had many activities for them to do. Their favorite was little excavator machine/ digger. You can use the gate ticket to exchange for coins to play with the digger. Overall, it was a great family day. We had a lot of fun and plan to go back with a couple of friends to enjoy a barbecue time together there. #park #kidsactivities #familyouting #shanghai

The Yuangxiang Lake in Jiading New Town is a hidden gem. It's a great place to escape the heat on weekends during the recent high temperatures. Not only can you camp, but you can also play with paddleboards on the water. Yuangxiang Lake is located in Jiading New Town. It has convenient transportation and easy parking. The surrounding public service facilities are well-developed. Next to it is the Poly Grand Theatre designed by Tadao Ando. During the Dragon Boat Festival, Jiading New City in Shanghai also has great places to visit

Get off at Jiading North subway station, and it's 1.7 kilometers to Zhouqiao Old Street. The main street is about 600 meters long, with four or five lateral and longitudinal side streets. Xu Xing Grass Weaving is a traditional folk weaving craft, mainly popular in Xu Xing Town, Jiading District, Shanghai. Xu Xing is a hometown of grass weaving in the south of the Yangtze River. The local people are accustomed to using the yellow grass stems produced in the township to weave daily necessities. As early as the Qing Dynasty, the Jiading yellow grass slippers made in Xu Xing were sold to various countries in Europe and Asia. The Xu Xing yellow grass is smooth and tough, with a light and elegant color. The crafts woven from it have clear textures, fine and uniform, flexible and smooth, and even more exquisite and beautiful after dyeing or embellishing with bright patterns. The Xu Xing grass woven products include slippers, tote bags, fruit pots, cup sets, pot mats, etc., with thousands of varieties in twenty major categories, rich in color, beautiful in style, light and convenient to use, with distinct local characteristics and a strong rural atmosphere. The so-called 'A Fahua Tower, half of Jiading's history.' Therefore, the story of Jiading should start from here. This year is the 30th anniversary of Jiading's county-to-district transformation, and the Fahua Tower, which has a history of over 800 years, has just been renovated and is brand new. The history of the Fahua Tower is even older than the history of Jiading City. It was built during the Kaiji period of the Song Dynasty and witnessed the great changes in Jiading over the long history. The Fahua Tower, also known as the 'Wenfeng Tower' and 'Wenbi Tower', is a landmark building in the old city of Jiading. Zhouqiao Old Street is the root of Jiading. Since it was established as the county center in 1218, it has been the birthplace of Jiading's historical culture for 800 years. Within this thousand steps, it has gathered ancient towers, stone streets, old bridges, old temples, famous gardens and other relics from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. The culture is vast and the heritage is profound. The Jiabei Suburban Park is located in the northwest of Jiading New City, Shanghai, with a planned area of 13.98 square kilometers and an opening area of 7.39 square kilometers in the first phase. The park has 4,500 acres of rice fields, 80 acres of colored rice fields, 90 acres of Lei bamboo shoots forest, 65 acres of lavender, as well as vineyards, kiwi fruit gardens and themed activity forests in the park.
