Zhejiang's very own Iceland
Jinhua|Zhejiang's very own Iceland
If you can't go to Iceland, then come to the little Iceland in Jinhua, Zhejiang, a niche check-in spot
Dana Jinhua Little Iceland
Ticket: 78 RMB per person (can be exchanged for a drink)
Visiting hours: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
This is an abandoned lime quarry pit, which a few years ago was used by a film crew leaving behind a sunken ship and wooden houses. Coupled with the black mountain and the lake-blue water pond, it has the characteristics of a Nordic tourist spot. On the day we went, there was heavy rain, which made the mountains appear more profound, and with the mist swirling around, it had quite the desolate end-of-the-world feel of Iceland.
Blue water🧊+ sunken ship🚢
The atmosphere is maxed out

Bring a transparent umbrella or a pure black umbrella as a photo prop
Photos taken on rainy or foggy days will feel more atmospheric

📍 Navigation: Danaye · Jinhua Mountain Little Iceland
It's only a 2.5h drive from Hangzhou, and 40min from Jinhua city center to Jinhua Little Iceland
⚠️ It is recommended to drive there, as there are currently no bus stops at the site
The nearest bus stop is 'Shuanglong' station, and it's a 1.4km walk, about 20 minutes, from there.
🎫 Ticket: 78 RMB per person, includes a beverage
Upon first stepping in
It's as if you've stepped into a movie scene
Below the grey-brown mine
Lies a pool of emerald water
A large ship quietly docked here
A black camping site
A white English sign
It's just like a small town from the Western World.
This place is located in an abandoned 🪨 quarry in Jinhua's Jiulong Village, covering an area of about 200 acres. Little Iceland is actually a mountaintop ⛰️, but this mountain is special, as it is made of typical limestone, appearing blackish-grey, 🌿 without a blade of grass, resembling a black sand beach. Beneath this dark rock lies a lake, with clear and cold water, 🌬️ and when the wind blows, ripples dance across the surface. It is said that this place was discovered by the film crew of 'The Farthest South', who built a whaling ship 🐋 according to the needs of the plot.
Now, this place has become an internet-famous spot, overcrowded, no longer the leisurely and comfortable small town it once was
‼️ Therefore, make sure to prepare well before visiting Little Iceland, and it is suggested to come in the 🌅 morning or forenoon. At this time, the sun rises in the east, full of vitality, and the photos taken are especially beautiful, but the most important point is that there are fewer people, the whole scenic area is yours, 📸 take photos however you want, and it's easier to get good shots. If you come during noon, not only does the light lose its three-dimensionality, but the place is also full of tourists, making it hard to find a poetic and picturesque atmosphere.

Bring a transparent or pure black umbrella as a photo prop

Next stop is the Ancient City. The Ancient City "old town" is now a combination of shops of different kinds and also some areas that are preserved to look old. There are also some areas where you can check the history of the place. The lights are also amazing.
After that you can go to a nearby park and cross the river using the cute rainbow bridge. To the othere side is the Opera House.
Truly an amazing place during night time.

Jinhua Sports Center - Amazing Design
Sports Center of Jinhua City / The Architectural Design and Research Institute of Zhejiang
Text description provided by the architects. Jinhua City Sports Center is located in the southern second ring road to the north facing the city gate, in the north lies the beautiful scenery of the Lake Water Park, the water floats from southeast, which is virtually the main vein through the city, to form a clear and vivid space axis.
Combined with the project of "sports building" features, the design refined "jump" as the overall design of the theme image, which forms shape and landscape design of the main elements throughout the architectural design to form a beautiful curve and surface, in order to present the cultural image of Jinhua Wu and express the strength and spirit temperament of Sport Buildings.
The plan includes one stadium containing the total seats of 30130, and one gym with 5987 seats, and one swimming pool with 1616 seats. The three main buildings are designed in the layout design like Chinese ”pin”, which forms a central square by centripetal approach. The structure and the site are designed together by two spatial spindles and a circular secondary shaft. On the east side of the main city road, the city is equipped with an open and sunken leisure Plaza facing the city. It combines the green space and the surface of the water to create the main entrance image.

China Wu Opera Grand Theatre-Yanweizhou Park
Yanweizhou Park by Turenscape was awarded as World Landscape of the Year 2015. The wetland in China is now dominated by a colorful bridge and adapts to the monsoon floods.
In the urban heart of Jinhua, a city with a population of over one million, one last piece of natural riparian wetland of more than 64 acres remains undeveloped. Located where the Wuyi River and Yiwu River converge to form Jinhua River, this wetland is called Yanweizhou, meaning “the sparrow tail”. The three rivers divide the densely populated communities in the region. As a result of this inaccessibility, the cultural facilities, including the opera house and the green spaces adjacent to the Yanweizhou, were underutilized. Most of the riparian wetland has been fragmented or destroyed by sand quarries and is now covered with secondary growth.
Due to its monsoon climate, Jinhua suffers from annual flooding. Hard high walls have been built, or were planned to be built, to protect the last patch of riparian wetland (Yanweizhou) from the 20-year and 200-year floods. These floodwalls would create dry parkland above the water, but destroy the lush and dynamic wetland ecosystem. Therefore, we devised a contrasting solution and convinced the city authorities to stop the construction of the concrete floodwall as well as demolish others. Instead, the Yanweizhou Park project “makes friends” with flooding by using a cut-and-fill strategy to balance earthwork and by creating a water-resilient, terraced river embankment that is covered with flood-adapted native vegetation. Floodable pedestrian paths and pavilions are integrated with the planting terraces, which will be closed to the public during the short period of flooding. The floods bring fertile silt that is deposited over the terraces and enriches the growing condition for the tall grasses that are native to the riparian habitat. The terraced embankment will also remediate and filtrate the stormwater from the pavement above. The Yanweizhou Park project showcases a replicable and resilient ecological solution to large-scale flood management.
In addition to the terraced river embankment, the inland area is entirely permeable in order to create a water-resilient landscape through the extensive use of gravel that is re-used material from the site. The gravel is used for the pedestrian areas; the circular bio-swales are integrated with tree planters; and permeable concrete pavement is used for vehicular access routes and parking lots. The inner pond on the inland is designed to encourage river water to infiltrate through gravel layers. This mechanically and biologically improves the water quality to make the water swimmable.
A pedestrian bridge snakes across the rivers, linking the parks along the riverbanks in both the southern and northern city districts, and connecting the city with Yanweizhou Park within the river. The bridge design was inspired by the local tradition of dragon dancing during the Spring Festival.

The Ancient Wu City Scenic Zone - Jinhua
The Ancient Wu City Scenic Zone is at the confluence of the Yiwu River, Wuyi River and Jinhua River. Facing islets in the Five Hundred Sands from afar, the Ancient Wu City integrates into a landscape featuring rivers, cities, islets, islands and bridges. Li Qingzhao - composer of Ci (poetry) in the Qing Dynasty once praised the magnificent sight of the Ancient Wu City in her Ci. The Ancient Wu City Scenic Zone takes up a total area of 1.5 km2.
Today, the place is a good place for relaxation and also people get to learn and know the history of the place. There are a lot of stores- different kinds. You can eat a lot of food here and also relax. The place has a lot of good views.

Wanfo Tower-Pagoda in Jinhua
I have been to many places in China and one of the most common tourist spots are the pagodas or the towers. It has of course something to do with their religion and culture. They also have a very good sens of architecture. When you look at the towers, it just looks so amazing. It does not matter if you are near or far it really looks good.
When i found out about this place I immediately checked this out when I went to Jinhua. Jinhua is just an hour metro or subway ride from Yiwu. The tower overlooks the river. You can just imagin the view and the relaxing place.
I saw some videos of it at night time and it really looks good with the lights on.

Shi Guangnan Music Square - Jinhua
Shi Guangnan (Chinese: 施光南; August 22, 1940 in Chongqing Municipality, China – May 2, 1990) was a Chinese composer, best known for his patriotic and nationalistic songs from the Cultural Revolution era that combined traditional melodies with westernized accompaniment.
This place was designed to remember this person. He must be a very famous composer in China to have a place named after him.
This place is actually huge and the design looks like a mini sydney opera house. I was told ot was more beautiful at night time because of the water fountain and the lights but I an only in Jinhua at daytime.

This is a true hidden Gem. The family with the surname Fu lived in this little ancient town.
The town is surrounded by mountains and water. A truely spectacular sight.
Many years of history stored in the walls of this village.
All the local people were exceptionally friendly and came to share some of their beliefs and historic stories with us.
It felt like we went back in time. Such an honor to be able to experience a part of China's history.
We went during Chinese New Year so the town was very quiet and not crowded at all.
Perfect for a day trip!

Wulongxia Scenic Area
Getting There - I would say you need to take your own car or get a driver to take you. The owner of the guesthouse I stayed at drove me around for the day.
Attractions - I liked Wulongxia Scenic area, there are lots to see and a few activities to do as well. I was impressed with the area I did not expect as much! There is a glass bridge, nice walking path, beautiful waterfalls, a high zipline that you scream your lungs out but you feel 'free' flying through the air and taking in the view from the too, a boat trip on the river to sit back and enjoy peacefulness and scenery.
Hotels - There are quite a few hotels and guesthouses around. I would definitely recommend this place for a weekend getaway from.the hustle and bustle of the city. There's surprisingly a lot to see for such a small place.
Food & Restaurants - There are small stands where you can grab something to eat or drink on the way.
Shopping - You are here for the scenert not shopping.
Zhizhe Temple in Jinhua
After visiting the Double Dragon Cave in Jinhua, there is a nice Buddhist Temple nearby. You can ride Y3 or Y5 bus from the bus station near the ticket office in the cave. Get down when you see the grand entrance where you can see long and tall posts. There is no fee when you get inside and the place is just quiet and many people are visiting the place to pray to their God. The place is quite huge because it is composed of a lot of big temples. Near the temple there is also a tall pagoda but we were not able to go and see the pagoda because we were running out of time and its time for is to go back home. It was actually very easy for us to get a Didi ride from Jinhua back to Yiwu.#urbanexplorer #newyearstravel #
Double-Dragon Scenic Area
I work in Yiwu and Jinhua is just an hour away. It is the first day of 2022 and we don't have work. We were looking for a nice place to travel just near Yiwu. My friends travelled early at around 8am using Didi and we arrived at 9am. The staff in the ticket office are very friendly and gave us a map and some tips on how to go around the place. We started hiking and we found some nice, small and cute waterfalls on our way. We also saw a small pond with fish. There are lots of tables for picnic or eating so we ate first before going inside. The cave is amazing. There are descriptions of some of the stones formed in how it looks like. By the way, we have to lie down on a boat in going in(entrance) of the cave which made it fun and exciting. The whole journey around the caves would be around 2 to 3 hours depending on how many times you rest or take pictures on the way. It was fun. If you are in Jinhua don't forget to drop by this awesome place!#urbanexplorer #newyearstravel #travelinspiration

Zhejiang Normal University-Jinhua
It is the main campus of zhejiang normal universities. It is located in Jinhua. Zhejiang Normal University is not only renowned for its green and beautiful campus, butalso increasingly for its outstanding academics, vibrant student community and its all-embracing campus culture. It is also one of the best universities in China!
There are quite a lot of waterfalls outside the cave, and there are many places where there are lights in the cave. There are also waterfalls in the caves, and there are not so many spectacular ones. The cave waterfall in Jinhua Shuanglongdong Scenic Area is unique in China!
Shuanglongdong is about 520 meters above sea level. It consists of inner hole, outer hole and ear hole. The name of "Shuanglong" has always been said:
1, the famous scholar Fang Feng in the Song Dynasty "Jinhua Cave Tianji" thinks that "Shuanglong" is inside the cave: "The squatting water enters the inner hole, the shape is sturdy, the head and the tail are tail, and the second is, the squatting is hidden, the claw tip is white, the stone is like jade, the so-called Ssangyong is also." Modern writer Ye Shengtaos "Shuanglong Cave of Jinhua" also said: "The scene of the inner hole is of course the Shuanglong, a yellow dragon and a green dragon at the top of the cave."
Second, Jiajing II of the Ming Dynasty In the seventeen-year-old Zheng Dongbai of Jinhua County, in his "Jinhua Jiyou", he believed that the dragon of the lift was in the outer cave hall: "The cave door is like a building, the stone cover is like a fault, and there is a stone drooping, such as a dragon lifting. Xu Xiake, a famous traveler of the Ming Dynasty, also said in his "Zheyou Diary": "The outer hole, Xuanyuan Hongshuang, such as Guangsha Gaochun. And the stone tendons, the stone milk drooping, for all kinds of strange shapes, The name of this double dragon originated."
Third, the new "Jinhua City" in 1992 thinks "Shuanglong" Outer hole: "Shuanglongdong: stalactites are green and yellow on both sides, resembling two faucets, two faucets are in the outer hole, but the dragon body is hidden in the inner hole, hence the name "Shuanglongdong". Legend has it that the ancient Ganzhou has been drought for years. The people did not talk about life. After Qinglong and Huanglong knew, they stole the Tianchi water and saved the people. However, because of the violation of the Tianzhu, the Queen Mother used the boulder to hold the neck and was trapped in the Ssangyong Cave. However, Shuanglong still stubbornly spits on the water, and the clear spring is still here. Endless.
Traveling in this mythical place, as if you have some scent...
At the entrance of Shuanglong
into the hole of Shuanglong Cave, you must not miss the two stalactites that are naturally formed by looking up and looking at the hole. The one that wrote Shanglong Cave is "Qinglong". They all say that the dragon will not see the tail, so whether there will be a "dragon" footprint inside the cave. At this time, I am more looking forward to seeing it.
The only cave in China that lies down into the cave
into the Ssangyong Cave. The first thing that greets us is the cruise ship. This is also unique to Ssangyong Cave. It needs to lie down and not sit in the boat.
Large and small caves have also been seen. Shuanglongdong has waterfalls and dark rivers. It is an essential tool for shipbuilding, but the magical place can accommodate up to 6 people per boat. lie down.
Note: Pay special attention to safety. It is best to put the backpack on the boat. When you wear the hole, don't look up. The lowest place is also a fist size. If you accidentally hit the hard stone.
Into the underground palace
, immortal account, general leg, upside down bat, sea turtle exploring the sea.... layered, colorful, strips, a building, form or Sharp, or sleek, some fires like fire, some jade like jade, reflection in the crystal clear underground river, this clearly visible reflection, if you also give birth to the same stalactite from the water, like a dream.
The most unique of the Chinese cave waterfalls
curling cave is the icy lake waterfall that flows down three thousand pools. The drop is 15 meters high and it is deafening from entering the cave. The sound of the waterfall rang through the cave, and the stalactites hanging from the waterfall grew especially well. The evolution of the millennium was able to be seen today. This beautiful cave wonder is definitely a valuable historical treasure of mankind.

"Jinhua Little Iceland: A Cold and Unique Attraction in the Yangtze River Delta."
Jinhua Little Iceland is a unique attraction transformed from an abandoned mine. Here is a travel guide:
1. Attraction overview:
- Location: Located on the west side of Jiulong Village, Luodian Town, Wucheng District, Jinhua City, the original mining area of Jianfeng Cement Plant.
- Features: The unique mine rock walls, black and white rocks, clear lake water, collapsed whaling ships, and various art installations create a unique cold post-apocalyptic style, as if you were in Iceland in Northern Europe.
2. Opening hours: 10:00–18:00 daily.
3. Transportation:
- Self-driving: This is the most convenient way. Navigate to "Jinhua Little Iceland" or "Jinhua Jiulong Village." It takes more than half an hour to drive from the city center under normal circumstances. You will pass through a winding mountain road with many curves, so be careful when driving. The last section of the road in the scenic area is a gravel road with potholes, so drive carefully. You can park your car on the roadside.
- Public transportation: You can take a bus to Shuanglong Cave. After arriving at Shuanglong Cave Scenic Area, ask the locals for the specific route to Little Iceland. However, this method is relatively inconvenient.
4. Travel tips:
