Unlike some popular tourist spots, it's not crowded, making it perfect for a leisurely stroll, sunbathing, or simply sitting and listening to the waves. The coastline is quite gentle, making it ideal for beginners to try surfing or stand-up paddleboarding. You can also see many people snorkeling, occasionally spotting schools of small fish, and if you're lucky, you might even see sea lions. The overall environment is very well maintained, with large grassy areas nearby perfect for picnics or chatting with friends – very pleasant.

But San Diego sunsets are so dramatic, and completely different every night. Pick any beach, stay until the last light, and don’t rush home. Rent a car This is not optional. A car in the US is the only way to get anywhere. Rent something beautiful if you can. Driving along the coast with music on is part of the experience. Blacks Beach (from the cliff) You don’t need to go down. The parking is not convenient on the sand but the views are so worth it. Standing on the cliff, with the ocean stretching endlessly below, feels surrealistic. Joshua Tree National Park Come for sunset, stay for stargazing, and hike during the day. The desert is known for its rocks formation and how they look when the sun goes down. Important tip: bring warm clothes. Desert nights get cold fast, we were very naive and didn’t. Now I understand why my American classmates all say they want to relocate to San Diego—it's so chill here! The two-day trip was full of surprises and not tiring at all. A seven-hour drive from the Bay Area, the biggest feeling was relaxation and healing! And SD is truly a super dog-friendly city. 🌴Balboa Park Navigate to the Organ Pavilion Parking Lot; this parking lot is the closest to the entrance. No entrance fee! The park has several museums; if you don't go inside, you can probably see everything in about an hour. My favorite spot is Lily Pond from The Heirs—perfect for taking photos! 🇮🇹Little Italy It's actually a very short street, but there are many restaurants. We ate at Mr. Moto Pizza here. If you like sweet things, I highly recommend their California Love—the honey pizza is amazing! The second day was Saturday, and we went to Farmer's Market again in the morning. SD is incredibly pet-friendly; there were so many dogs on the streets, and Yoyo had a great time! 🐶 🌊La Jolla I hereby declare that the ocean in San Diego is the most beautiful I've ever seen in the US! And it's very close to downtown, only a 20-minute drive. Arriving around 3:30 PM in late November will allow ample time to see the sea lions at La Jolla Cove before sunset. Then you can take photos on the beach and wait for the sunset. We arrived quite late, so we didn't have a chance to visit the nearby village. If you have more time, you can explore it further; there are many nice little shops! 🗿Unconditional Surrender It's very romantic in the evening. However, if you're not going to the nearby aircraft carrier, 15 minutes here to enjoy the ocean view and take photos is enough. 🇲🇽Old Town There are many Mexican shops here, where you can also buy fridge magnets and small gifts. This stop is best planned during the day, with a total visit time of about 1 hour. 🏨The Guild Hotel Great location, convenient transportation, pet-friendly. The rooms are equipped with Le Labo toiletries. Parking is also reasonably priced at $30 per night. The standard room was really too small, suitable for one person. It wouldn't be big enough for someone with a dog. However, I really liked the hotel environment; it was super cozy!

Taking advantage of the Thanksgiving long weekend, we traveled from LA to San Diego, visiting two zoos and some major attractions. Because we were traveling with kids, we adopted a relaxed approach, giving them a nap each day. On the first day, Thanksgiving, the Safari Park closed early at 3 PM, so it wasn't too crowded. After entering the park, we went straight to the Africa Tram, waited in line for about 15 minutes, and saw giraffes, antelopes, rhinos, and other African animals. Afterwards, we had breakfast at Okavango Outpost. After breakfast, we visited the elephant, tiger, goat, and kangaroo enclosures, seeing some animals that interested the kids. After the visit, we returned to the main park entrance, rode the carousel, bought souvenirs, and left the park around 2:30 PM, just in time for the kids' nap. We then had lunch at Xiangcun Renjia. For accommodation, we took advantage of a Chase Reserve Edit deal and chose The US Grant Downtown. In the evening, we walked to the Midway Museum and saw the statues. (Figures 2-8) The next morning, we went to the San Diego Zoo. We headed straight for the bus upon entering, but still waited in line for 30 minutes. I recommend sitting on the right side of the bus for a better view of the animals. On the bus, we saw tigers, elephants, lions, bears, and more, all from the right side. After getting off the bus, you can go directly to see the flamingos, and then follow the trail to see various monkeys and orangutans. Finally, we took an elevator down to the panda enclosure, waited in line for 30 minutes, and only saw a sleeping panda! 🤣 Afterwards, you can take an elevator across the bridge to the cable car entrance, and take the cable car back to the park entrance. We left the park around 2 PM. The kids were sleeping, so we rushed to La Jolla Cove. We had dinner at the lounge of The Marine Room, a restaurant with a sea view. We took advantage of a Chase Reserve deal; the view was beautiful, the food was delicious, and it was definitely worth it. Because it was Black Friday, we ended the second day's itinerary with shopping at Fashion Valley on the way back. (Figures 9-15) The third morning, we visited Balboa Park. Parking is convenient; you can directly access Casa del Prado Theatre from there. Parking spaces are limited but very convenient. Lily Pond and the Botanical Building are must-sees, filming locations for the Korean drama "The Heirs." The California Tower landmark is also worth seeing, offering a panoramic view of the park. Finally, you can finish with Bea Evenson Fountain. On the way back to LA, we ate at Xiangcun Renjia again; all the dishes were excellent and none were disappointing. (Photos 16-18)

Morning visitors are few, so you can enter without waiting in line. Surprisingly, this seemingly ordinary bookstore indeed conceals a passageway. The lighting inside is quite sufficient, and the environment feels entirely natural! It really makes you wonder how this passage was originally excavated. As soon as you step into the passage, you can feel the moisture and the scent of the sea breeze. Be sure to watch your step to avoid slipping!
