Review
The Langkawi SkyCab is an engineering marvel that provides visitors with a thrilling ascent to the top of Gunung Machinchang. The ride, lasting about 15 minutes, offers breathtaking views of lush rainforests and cascading waterfalls below. Upon reaching the summit, visitors can access the Langkawi Sky Bridge, a curved suspension bridge set at 700 meters above sea level. The experience is both exhilarating and serene, with the bridge providing unparalleled vistas of Langkawi’s pristine beauty. For photography enthusiasts, it’s a paradise as the scenic backdrop includes mountains, the sea, and the distant islands. The attraction also includes stops at middle stations for more exploration. Combining adventure with awe-inspiring landscapes, this is a must-visit for travelers.
My Langkawi story: Cute cottage by the sea.
If you are looking for a quiet, calm and a cottage style accommodation surrounded by lot of trees and plants, and a white sandy beach infront, Frangipani Langkawi Resort is the answer. It is located at Pantai Tengah area which is more secluded compared to the happening Pantai Chenang, but the location is not that far from Pantai Chenang area. This resort is very clean and calm, very suitable for those artistic person looking for inspiration or meditation. There’s a chlorine pool, salt water pool and jacuzzi for you to enjoy or you can just choose to bath and sunbathing at the beach. The beach is very clean and not too crowded. Everything is so near, within walking distance. You can also adopt a plant in this resort if you wish to. I did adopt a maroon frangipani since I am a plant enthusiast. For breakfast, they provide local and western cuisine. Do not forget to try their special dish “organic cream of kangkung soup”. Kangkung is a water spinach and a famous vegetable among the local. This is my first time having a cream of kangkung soup, and the taste is quite unique (usually most of the hotel I stay will serve mushroom or chicken soup). This place is strongly recommended for those who wish to stay away from the hustle bustle area. (Note: Pantai-beach) #langkawi #Frangipani #malaysia #langkawiisland
Easy and worthy Malaysian beach gate-away
Langkawi is a chill place. The beaches are stunning, and the water is so clear, it feels like you’re in a dream. I spent a lot of time just lying on the beach and swimming in the sea – super relaxing.
One of the coolest things I saw was how the locals feed the eagles. They take boats out to the river, and you can watch the eagles swoop down to grab food that they throw. It’s pretty wild!
You’ve gotta try the local seafood – it’s fresh and really tasty. The night markets are fun to check out as well, with lots of food and little things to buy. It’s the perfect spot to just unwind.

🌊🚤 The Adventurous Outdoor Activities I've never ever had!
#outdooradventures#100waysoftravel#watersports
Langkawi offers several outdoor activities for Adventure seekers, and one of them is Jet skiing. It's one of the top Langkawi activities and will given you on an unforgettable experience to the Langkawi archipelago!
We rented the 4 hrs Jet Ski Island Hopping Tour including instructors with the Mega Water Sports Sdn Bhd. The equipment provided was top-notch; their instructions are clear, professional plus humour, making entertain to the whole journey.
Their itinerary was great and I’d 100% recommend this to anyone!
In this tour we had visited many islands of the Langkawi archipelago. With some rest points to take picture and swim if we wanted to. We saw spectacular rock formations and island structures, and even saw the symbol of Langkawi; Red-backed Sea Eagle, and the eagles come into feed! Moreover, because the tide was low, we got to cruise through a small cave with incredible stalactites. This island hopping tour was such a thrilling & adventurous experience!
🌊 Overall rated: 4.9/5. The Adventurous Outdoor Activities I've never ever had!
🇲🇾 Exploring the Enchanting Island of Langkawi, Malaysia
#islandtour #100waysoftravel
Langkawi, Malaysia, is a stunning archipelago known for its lush landscapes, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant cultural experiences. On my recent tour of this tropical paradise, I discovered a blend of adventure, relaxation, and culinary delights that truly showcased the best of Langkawi.
The adventure began with some exhilarating water sports off the coast of one of Langkawi’s pristine beaches. From jet skiing across the gleaming waters to parasailing high above the island, each activity offered a thrilling perspective of Langkawi’s natural beauty.
One of the highlights of my trip was the sunset cruise. As the yacht sailed along the coastline, the sky turned into a canvas of deep oranges and pinks, creating a breathtaking backdrop against the tranquil sea. The cruise was not only a visual delight but also a chance to unwind and soak in the serene atmosphere.
No visit to Langkawi would be complete without savoring its local seafood. The island’s restaurants, many situated right on the beach, served fresh, flavorful seafood dishes that were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection.
Another must-visit attraction was the 3D museum, an interactive art space where I snapped amusing photos with lifelike paintings and optical illusions. The experience was both fun and immersive, adding a unique cultural twist to the trip.
Finally, a journey to the Sky Bridge offered a panoramic view of Langkawi’s verdant hills and sparkling waters. This architectural marvel, suspended high above the island, provided a spectacular vantage point and was a fitting finale to my island adventure.
Langkawi truly is a gem of Malaysia, offering everything from high-octane adventures and natural beauty to delightful culinary experiences and cultural richness. It’s an ideal destination for anyone looking to explore the diversity and charm of Southeast Asia.

Seven Wells Waterfalls, Langkawi
Also known as Seven Wells Waterfall, Telaga Tujuh has the best views and natural pools are so worth it.
The climb is very very steep and we had to climb backwards because it was almost impossible to climb straight 🤪 and then there were 600+ stairs 😮💨
If you want to save yourself from all the climbing, you can visit the waterfall and have a nice swim in the "infinity pool" there.
But as the name suggests, there are around seven main pools or even more.
We went ahead and crossed 2 other pools, trekked through the jungle for an hour to reach this place, which had clean and chill natural water.
The fact that we had the pool all to ourselves and we got enough time to settle in and play around, was the highlight 😍

Kayaking Through the Mangroves of Kilim Geoforest Park
#kayak #100waysoftravel #malaysia #langkawi
During my visit to Langkawi, I had an incredible time kayaking through the mangroves of Kilim Karst Geoforest Park. As I paddled through the serene waters, I was surrounded by stunning landscapes of towering limestone cliffs and lush greenery.
The calm waters allowed me to get up close to the diverse wildlife, including eagles soaring overhead and monkeys playing in the trees. I explored hidden lagoons and small caves, adding an adventurous touch to the journey. This experience was a perfect blend of tranquility and natural beauty, making it one of the highlights of my trip!

Mineral-rich Hot Springs in Langkawi 🇲🇾
#hotsprings #100waysoftravel #malaysia
My visit to Ayer Hangat Village in Langkawi was a refreshing escape into nature. Known for its mineral-rich hot springs, the village offered a perfect blend of relaxation and cultural experience.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by a serene atmosphere surrounded by lush greenery. The hot spring pools were well-maintained and inviting, with varying temperatures that allowed me to choose the perfect level of warmth. Soaking in the mineral-rich water felt rejuvenating, and I could feel the stress melting away.
The village also featured traditional Malay architecture, adding to its charm. I enjoyed exploring the surrounding area, which included cultural exhibits and a chance to learn about local traditions.
Overall, my experience at Ayer Hangat Village was delightful. It’s a must-visit for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of Langkawi. I left feeling refreshed and enriched by the local culture.

Having our lunch at Tanjung Rhu Jetty while awaiting for Mangrove Tour boat
#traveldiaries
We were waiting for Mangrove Tour boat at 2pm so we have decided to have a quick lunch beside the stall. They served various kinds of food and we ordered two portions of Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice), one with chicken and one with prawn, and two glasses of juice. The meal is served fast and the taste is decent, and the jetty view of the mangrove swarm is very nice. This restaurant served as the transit pointbfor those awaiting to go for the tour who wants a quick lunch, and provides convenience to tourists and operators alike.
A nice stroll at Tanjung Rhu Beach
#traveldiaries
After resting our foot at the poolside bar at Tanjung Rhu Resort, we took a stroll by the Tanjung Rhu Beach, which is rather quiet as it is adjacent to the Tanjung Rhu Resort, and so it can be treated as a private beach. The sands are very smooth and the sea water is so blue and clear, and you dont hear very loud voices from the crowd. We just take a seat somewhere at the beach and just listening to the aound of wave is so soothing and relaxing, and it really heals the body and soul and replenish the inner energy. This is really paradise on earth, and I will definitely visit here again during my next trip, and staying at Tanjung Rhu Resort will be the best option.
A nice boathouse by the Kilim Geoforest Park
#traveldiaries
While boating around the Mangrove Swarm we were brought to a boathouse to rest, and there are a few "special" pet by the fishermen. We saw two big manta ray and they are so gentle and obedient, which they can take orders from human, especially the Mantaray. They also showed us the big Tuna fish, barracuda and baby shark which has served as their pet for many years. There is also a restaurant that serves seafood for those who wishes to dine there. We had a great fun there seeing these wonderdul sea creatures, and we headed back to our boat after some rest.
A very local delicacy, Laksa Ikan Sekoq at Langkawi
#traveldiaries
We wanted to try something local, so we stopped by at one of the stall by the airport called Laksa Kaw Ikan Sekoq. We ordered to bowls of Laksa and one plate of cucur (prawn fritters). The laksa is really having a full taste of fish, and the additional full fish adds the flavous onto it. The prawn fritters is also very soft and crispy and is very delicious eating it with peanut sauce. Then we see a convoy of motorcyclist stopping by and have their laksa as well. This is a very good experience and I will do it again.
Hopping to Pulau Beras Basah from Langkawi
#traveldiaries
We took the Island Hopping Tour from Langkawi and we hopped to one of the island called Pulau Beras Basah. It has a very clear water with smooth sandy beach, and the island is very quiet. The water is so clear that you can even see fishes swimming near the shore. There you can opt for several activities like banana boat, doughnut boat and parasailing, or just walk around and sit back and relax listening to the sound of waves. The day is very bright with good weather, so we are able to snap very good pictures. It is a very good vacation day spent indeed.
Relaxing and sipping a refreshing glass of juice at Tanjung Rhu Resort
#traveldiaries
After our mangrove tour at Tanjung Rhu, we had some time before dinner so we stopped by Tanjung Rhu resort to have some freshly prepared juice cocktail by the pool. This resort is really nice and relaxing as the pool is located beside the sandy beach. We ordered a glass of pineapple and orange based juice, and orange and grapeful based and they tasted so refreshing. The hotel is so quiet and we really can relax and enjoy the quiet serenity atmosphere of the resort. We are also allowed to take a stroll at the beach. We really enjoyed this vibe and will come and here and stay one day.
The travel to Pulau Dayang Bunting via island hopping
#traveldiaries
Island hopping is fun at Langkawi, and one of the island we visited is the Pulau Dayang Bunting, which means the pregnant maiden island in Malay. This is gonna be the biggest island out of Langkawi, and the best part of this island is its limestone geoforest status. Inside the island there lies a lake where you can swim or do some water activities. There are also mangrove forest surrounding the island where you see the roots extending to the ground, protecting the island from erosion. We did some kayaking there and it was really fun, and I hope I will be able to visit here again.
A simple lunch at Bella Restaurant, Langkawi
#traveldiaries
After visiting Laman Padi, its time for lumch and we have decided to just look for somewhere near to eat, and we found this nive little warung called Bella Restaurant, selling local Malay cuisines. We ordered the Nasi Goreng Kampung with Chicken and the Seafood Mee Goreng, turns out that they tasted excellent amd very authentic. There are also other dishes such as Soup noodles, Chicken Rice and Rice topped with curry fish. It is very easy to spot just nearby Pantai Cenang and 500 meters walk from Laman Padi. We made a very good choice indeed, a good lunch before heading to island hopping.

A wander to nature, Mangrove River at Kilim Geoforest Park
#closetonature #100waysoftravel
We were having our vacation at Langkawi and make a day tour to Kilim Geoforest Park. First we will need to gather at Tanjung Rhu Jetty at 2pm, so we arrived early to have our quick lunch there, and make our way to the jetty at 1.50pm. They brought us to rhe speedboat and we slowly made our way deep into the mangrove forest. The mangrove forest spans a total area of 100km2, which is an ancient geoforest heritage which is almost 500 million years old!!! Deep down while crusing thru the valley and rivers, we get to see many monkeys in the mangrove jungle and we moved through our way to the open seas. It is alsopart of the UNESCO Network of Global Geoparks in Langkawi. We were also brought to the bat caves to see them hanging on top sleeping. The whole tour tool 2.5 hours and we had a great time, and it is recommended to all who visits Langkawi.
A nice stay at Ombak Villa Langkawi
#boutiquehotels #100waysoftravel
We were having our vacation at Langkawi Island and we would want to have an experience of staying in a resort hotel, so we opted for this nice resort called Ombak Villa which is around 10 minites drive from the airport. The room given to us is very spacious, with a nice room layout and a balcony with a nice garden view. They also have some trails for walking and jogging by the shore, and a nice infinity pool as well. Breakfast is provided at the poolside restaurant and we love the ambience of the hotel, which provides us a quiet and serene environment to relax from our hectic work schedule. This hotel is a very nice place for a retreat and we will dedinitely come back again.
🇲🇾 Sunset in Langkawi
#bestsunset #100WaysOfTravel
This is the Tengah and Cenang beach area and they always have the most beautiful sunsets. It get lovelier especially after some rain and you can even spot rainbow too. Both beaches are public and anyone can come over. There are several hotels along the beach and guests also can walk onto the beach. There is no private beach here so it is open to everyone. It is a quiet and relax beach and there are many beach vendors and beach cafes too. As this beach is facing the western side, the sunset impact is more vibrant. Please always check the sunset timing and the weather as these factors will make or break a lovely sunset view

First there was The Fat Frog, now Smiling Buffalo?
Langkawi is not short of nice cafes with quirky name 7
this cafe ranked highly in my to-visit list
due to its high rating in Google, and it looked absolutely serene and beautiful in social media.
This restaurant is incredible, staff are super friendly and the food is amazing.
We visited 3 times, the matcha frappe was brilliant, the mushroom dumplings another standout, but l was blown away by the tiramisu cake. I'll be dreaming about it.
Langkawi pulau payar is truly a treasure trove in West Malaysia
#langkawitrip
Malaysia has opened up visa free access, and many people will go to Sabah in East Malaysia for vacation. However, Langkawi is truly a treasure trove in West Malaysia, a much less popular seaside city where you can see the Glass Sea for a small amount of money! In 2018, I was able to fly directly to Langkawi, Guangzhou, on flight X5. If I drop on the ground, I can use it to obtain ringgit at the airport ATM and apply for a Malaysian SIM card. Langkawi mainly speaks English, but there is no need to worry too much about language issues. You can play smoothly with simple vocabulary and translation software! Recommended recording points? Paya Island is known as the "Nanyang Fortress Reef" because it is the island I love the most in Langkawi. The seawater is really clear, and you can see good bread downstream from the floating platform. When diving, many tropical fish will swim over. On the floating platform, you can enjoy a self-service breakfast with an unexpected taste. There is also a chance to see tropical fish that can only be seen in aquariums on the shore. Shark babies were purchased in town one day in advance
what a place to recharge youe weekend❤️
