🇵🇭 Hidden Gems in Siquijor Islands✨✨
#hiddengems
Embarking on a day trip across the mystical island of Siquijor, I found the hidden gems on the islands that is less well known than its neighbour island-Bohol.
🏍️ How to Go?
We rented a scooter for 250 peso for whole day. It is around 30mins ride from San Juan, where most tourists stay. Navigating the island's lush landscapes on a rented motorbike added an exhilarating sense of freedom and adventure to the journey, allowing for an intimate exploration of Siquijor's scenic beauty at my own pace.
💎Cambugahay Falls: A Leap of Adventure
📍(4JQG+XM3, Siquijor Circumferential Road, Lazi, Siquijor, Philippines)
💰 Entrance fee: 20 peso, Tarzan swing: 50 peso
My first stop was the mesmerizing Cambugahay Falls, a cascading three-tiered waterfall nestled in the heart of Siquijor. What sets Cambugahay apart is not just its breathtaking beauty, but the thrilling Tarzan swing activity that beckons the bold. With ropes hanging from sturdy branches above the clear, inviting pools, I couldn't resist the call to leap. 🫣🫣Swinging out over the water and releasing into a refreshing plunge was a liberating experience, perfectly capturing the essence of adventure that Cambugahay Falls offers. It is such an unforgettable moment!
💎Salagdoong Beach: Crystal Clarity and Serene Sands
📍Maria, Siquijor, Philippines
💰No entrance fee
Known for its crystal-clear waters and white sandy shores, Salagdoong is a haven for those seeking tranquility or a vibrant underwater adventure. 🤿 The clarity of the water makes it an ideal spot for snorkeling, revealing a colorful world of coral reefs and marine life just beneath the surface. The beach is also famous for its high diving platforms, offering another adrenaline rush for the daring. ⚡️However, it was the peaceful moments of simply floating in the crystal-clear sea that truly captured the essence of Salagdoong's beauty, making it a perfect counterpoint to the morning's excitement. 🌊🌊
⭐️⭐️Final Thoughts⭐️⭐️
Riding through the island, with the wind as my companion, I was reminded that the journey is just as significant as the destination. Siquijor is not just an island to be visited but an adventure to be lived.😍I’ll definitely revisit this small lovely island full of surprise again!

Cambugahay Falls is one of my most favorite places in Siquijor. It is one of the many precious waterfalls in the Island wherein a large number of tourist enjoys its fascinating atmosphere. Even locals within the island, enjoy spending their time in the mystical waterfall together with their family and friends. Cambugahay Falls can be reached via 135 steps going down.
Cambugahay Falls is a 3-tiered waterfall. with crisp and clean warm water originating from natural springs. Water from the Cambugahay Falls flows down about three kilometers downstream making numerous wonderful swimming lagoons before it discharges into the Lazi Bay.
At the first level, you will see one feature of the place which was an improvised swing. The locals called it the “Tarzan swing” and you could use it for free. In that location, you will find some locals assisting people to do the swing, hence it won’t actually hurt if you give a few bucks to these guys for their endeavor.
It was very enticing to swim, but then again, I came unprepared. The lowest tier of Cambugahay Falls is where most tourists swim. It’s the biggest and probably the deepest as well.
Cambugahay falls don’t have a spectacular drop, but it is wide, giving it a different charm. The water was so clear and the pools were deep – excellent for swimming.

The Lure of Siquijor…
Siquijor is pure paradise! This Mystic Island of Central Visayas might have a somewhat unsavoury reputation… (notorious for black magic, exacerbated by a popular film, it seems), but it is an experience not to be missed! Hop on a cute auto rickshaw and head to the picturesque beaches. Then seek out Cambugahay Falls and plunge into the refreshing pool! It was a day trip for us and we would have loved to explore more, but would we dare spend the night on the island? That’s still undecided…

My favorite beach in the Philippines
My favorite beach on Siquior island is the beach with the creative name "secret beach". As the name suggests, the Secret Beach in Siquijor is an off-the-beaten-path destination. Not a lot people visit it, so it's perfect place for you if you’re looking for a remote location to relax. 🏖️
🛵 To get here, you’ll have to rent a motorbike. From the parking lot, you’ll have to climb down a few stairs. Don’t get discouraged, the Secret Beach is worth the effort!
The beach is mostly rocky so it’s not suitable for swimming, especially during low tide.
📍 Location: San Juan, Siquijor island
🎟️ Entrance: No fee

Unfortunately service here hasn’t changed in 3 years and we need to stop giving the pandemic as an excuse now. At the end of the day the venue is in the F&B business and not giving out free drinks or food… I truly think no one cares in this place. We were greeted by “the kitchen cannot accommodate”. (It’s Saturday night, just hire more kitchen staff for crying out loud). After discussion and waiting for a while we were told we needed to order before a big table. It was the only good move of the night from service. Sisig was okay, Satay chicken had a good sauce, but the Kinilaw was prepared with smelly fishy fish. The staff didn’t ask us for food feedback although we left that dish practically untouched. We saw many people leave when they realized no food was available at 8-9pm. Does anyone care here? I think not.

Hidden gem of the Philippines
Siquijor is my new favourite island in the Philippines. And further to that, Coco Grove Resort is one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. It is paradise - the facilities are top notch, and the staff are the friendliest people you’ll ever meet

There are also three restaurants, and you can have dinner on the beachfront while watching the band performance while watching the sunset.
jacskson's wonderful world. The Philippines has a hidden gem of an island that 99% of people don't know about
💚 Siquijor is one of the most easily overlooked treasures among the Philippine islands
💚 It is the third smallest island in the Philippines, occupying only 0.11% of the country's land area
💚 The island boasts breathtaking natural beauty and tropical charm
💚 However, compared to other islands, there is very little information about it online
💚 Next, let's introduce this romantic island to everyone
🏨 Accommodation
1️⃣ When visiting Siquijor, you must stay at Coco Grove Beach Resort!! On the island, there are only Coco and other hotels; no other hotel can replace it!

Lazi Convent Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
A Spooky Unesco World Heritage!🇵🇭
#timetotravel
This is Lazi Convent and it is one of the most treasured historical structures in Siquijor. It was built in 1884 and is said to be the oldest and biggest convent in Asia. walking inside is a little bit eerie as you feel like you are in a horror movie. hahaah. Blame it to all those horror movies that take place in a convent. It is just really old and it shows with the interior and the facade of the convent. It is a museum inside that displays religious artifacts and antiques from the 19th century.
Entrance Fee: 20 pesos but double check
