However, the tourist area is large, so it's more efficient to travel with a local tour guide. Even if you're used to traveling alone, I recommend a tour guide if you're short on time. It's reasonable, and Luxor is easily covered in a day trip, so it's cheaper than staying overnight. I didn't get ripped off, but you'll need to negotiate the price, so it's fun. The people are very friendly. However, the cars are rough, so you'll need to get used to crossing the roads.

Karnak Temple was truly one of the most shocking sites on my Egyptian itinerary! The scale is so large that you can walk to your feet, and each pillar is incredibly huge. Standing in the 134 magnificent Greek Columns (Hypostyle Hall), you will really feel overwhelmed by civilization. The carvings on each wall and on each column are very intricate, recording the story of war, myth and pharaoh, and you will find many small details if you walk a little slower. This is the largest temple complex in Egypt and the religious center of ancient Egypt, so it is recommended to be sure to reserve 2–3 hours is just right. Spinning around underneath, looking up at the tops of the columns carved with 3,900-year-old hieroglyphics, my mind is filled with images of ancient Egyptian priests walking here. ENFPs really let their imagination run wild. My friends and I made quite a few videos of spinning and jumping here. The sunlight from 3 to 4 PM shines in beautifully, casting perfect light and shadows among the deep columns—any random shot looks great. Of course, you have to imitate a JoJo pose~ Check out the GIF of me doing ten poses in one second, hahahahaha. Each column’s text and patterns might hide mysterious stories, sparking huge curiosity. My friends and I were mimicking the god-raising pose when a nearby tour guide started explaining. We stopped to seriously “eavesdrop,” but the all-English explanation was quite challenging. 📍Thutmose I Obelisk Look up at these two ancient monoliths and feel the smallness of humanity and the greatness of engineering. The obelisks set against the blue sky seem to tell the Pharaoh’s ambition—some dreams really can transcend millennia. 📍Scarab Statue Right in the plaza behind the Hypostyle Hall, locals say walking around it brings good luck. As a lucky girl, I went around five times! Every corner here holds surprises, every stone whispers stories from a thousand years ago. My ENFP curiosity and imagination are fully charged. Arrive at the Valley of the Kings at 8:00, return from Habu Temple at 11:30, 3.5 hours to quickly explore the Valley of the Kings + Habu Temple 🚶🏻‍♀️ 📍Valley of the Kings (8:00~9:30) If possible, definitely get up early to rush to the Valley of the Kings!! It takes about half an hour to get from the West Bank hotel directly by indrive to the entrance of the Valley of the Kings (the driver will most likely try to sell you a private ride, just ignore it). We arrived at 8:00, the sun wasn’t very strong, there was even a cool breeze in the shade, and there weren’t many visitors at the free tombs yet. By the time we finished and came out, there was already a long queue at the entrance of the free tombs. Due to time constraints, we only visited three free tombs + one paid tomb (the staff didn’t strictly check how many tombs you actually visited with the e-ticket, so it feels like you can visit more free tombs). 🌟KV2🌟 (Tomb of Ramesses IV) Free The closest and most crowded free tomb from the entrance, the chamber is not large, the lighting is very good, and the colors are vivid. 🌟KV9🌟 (Tomb of Ramesses VI) 220 EGP The best value paid tomb, the murals are exquisite, colorful, and without glass protection, the lighting effect is great, and the ceiling murals are stunning!
