Mon Doo Dao Dome: A Highland Retreat
Perched high amidst the verdant hills of Chiang Mai, my sojourn at the Mon Doo Dao Dome Tent accommodation was an escape from the ordinary. As I navigated the steep drive, the thrill of adventure was palpable, each turn revealing a panoramic vista more breathtaking than the last.
Arriving in the heart of summer, I was pleasantly surprised by the cool, crisp air that enveloped the area, a stark contrast to the sweltering June heat. It was a refreshing respite, the mountain breeze whispering tales of the lush, untouched wilderness that surrounded us.
Booking an air-conditioned room seemed like a prudent choice given the season, but as the cool mountain air filled the dome, I realised it was an indulgence we could have easily forgone. The dome's unique design and natural ventilation kept the indoor temperature perfectly comfortable, adding to the immersive experience of being one with nature.
As night fell, the experience took an even more delightful turn. We set up a grill and indulged in a scrumptious Mookata dinner right within the comfort of our room. The aroma of grilled delicacies mingled with the crisp mountain air, creating a feast for all the senses.
Staying at Mon Doo Dao Dome was more than just an accommodation experience; it was a journey into the heart of nature, where modern comforts meet rustic charm. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or seeking a unique staycation, this highland retreat is a must-try.

Mon Jaem Escapade: An Unexpected Summer Chill
In the thick of summer's blaze, I found a refreshing sanctuary in Mon Jaem, Thailand. With temperatures surprisingly dipping to 19 degrees Celsius, it felt like a cool embrace amid the typically scorching season.
I traversed the verdant landscapes, breathing in the crisp air that held a hint of the imminent rain, and marveled at the panoramic views that stretched out as far as the eye could see. As if this mountain retreat wasn't enchanting enough, the temperature drop added an unexpected layer of serenity that soothed my city-weary soul.
Amidst this natural tranquillity, I indulged in a simple yet satisfying meal. The aroma of basil pork rice wafted in the cool air, and each bite seemed to fuse with the ethereal landscape. Dessert was a delightful Daifuku, its sweet chewiness perfectly complementing the savory main course.
Here in Mon Jaem, I discovered that summer could indeed be a season of cool retreat and gastronomic delight.

North Star Valley
Chiangmai trip cannot be completed without going to Mae Rim. Only an hour from city center, you will find beautiful and peaceful mountainous area. North Star Valley is such a unique place. We were sleeping in the bubble, feel like sleeping outside but not really. It’s such a cool experience. Breakfast and dinner were both delicious and glamorous at the same time.

Amazing place for a cheap admission fee. The garden is absolutely huge and fantastic. You could spend hours there taking photos. Make sure you dress up! We got there by song-teaw, it was relatively easy ride. Last few minutes, we passed some steep bends but its just manageable since our driver was an expert there. If you're on a song-teaw you can drive right up to this place. I'm not sure they harvest the flowers here, I think they earn the income from visitors, particularly Thai people, who come to get their photos taken amongst the flowers. A couple of gardens here, the larger one charges 30Bht entrance whilst the smaller one 20Bht. There are places selling food and drinks here.
Actually in my opinion when planing to go there since it is a great location and there are too much to see and do. You need to plan a whole day as you have so many things to find on the way up there.☺️☺️☺️🤙🏻

In Chiang Mai! So this is what it feels like to bathe with elephants
The last day of 2023
Working part-time at Maesa Elephant Camp🤣
1. Making snacks for elephants
Mixing herbal grass🌿 and ginger powder🧂 in tamarind mud
It can supplement vitamins and energy
Elephants love sugar🍬, I put more brown sugar
Tasted a bite, the taste is not bad~
Since it's Chiang Mai elephant, of course they like to eat glutinous rice🍚
Wrapping sea salt inside can make them drink more water
So that 💩 can be more moist and elastic😂
I also bought paper made of poop👀 at Nimman Market in the evening
2. Helping baby elephants take a bath🧼
A small bamboo basket and a small brush, the six or seven-year-old 'Xiaoxin' is very happy
They even sprayed water with their noses and had a water fight with us💦
It turns out to be bathing with elephants😂
˶⚈₃⚈˵
I still remember that year at the Natural History Museum in New York
Biologists took us to stand in front of Jumbo's skeleton
It was once the world's most famous 'animal star'
And the prototype of Disney's 'Dumbo'
After death, its heart was donated to Cornell University for research
More than a hundred years later, when elephants are no longer forced to perform🈲
Humans finally began to learn to respect these giants
May every life be cherished✨
Phuket's must-visit elephant sanctuary and Chiang Mai homestay for families | Wake up to the sound of elephants and discover one of the world's most worthwhile homestays!
✅Must experience:
The homestay is located in the Mae Wang Elephant Camp in Chiang Mai, Thailand, about an hour's drive from the city center. It is worth mentioning that the homestay is an eco-friendly residence with a public welfare nature, advocating the concept of living with elephants, which has been favored by travelers, especially the unique project of elephant wake-up call, making the homestay a popular destination for taking photos.
This seems to be a secret territory belonging to nature. Staying in the homestay, there are many activities themed around elephants, and you can see elephants playing and frolicking everywhere in a leisurely manner. In addition, you can also go bamboo rafting, observe waterfalls, and experience thrilling jungle leaps in the surrounding area. If you are interested in local culture, you can also hire a local guide to experience the lifestyle and cuisine of the Karen minority in northern Thailand.
Whether it's for getting close to nature or supporting elephant conservation projects, this place is a unique accommodation experience unlike any other. Staying here is sure to be an unforgettable and meaningful experience.
❤️Recommendation reason:
Elephants are rescued from circuses or wilderness protection camps.
The entire schedule for the event is as follows:
1. Introduction to the differences between African elephants and Asian elephants.
2. Personally make delicious food for the elephants.
3. Feed the elephant watermelon/banana/homemade food.
4. Give the elephant a mud spa.
5. Bathe with elephants.
6. Thai cuisine cooking, buffet style.
I booked a half-day tour with a special car pick-up and drop-off. It was great to experience it with my child! The campsite was very clean and the staff were also great. They helped take photos during the activities and the photos were free. When we left, we were even given a canvas bag with the campsite logo and an envelope made of elephant dung.
Misha Elephant Camp
Riding elephants can be done for both long and short distances. In fact, the long distance isn't really that long, it just means the experience lasts a bit longer. It can be a bit wobbly on top of the elephant, so for those with very little courage, a short ride around is enough. The elephants here are all well-trained, and three of them have even used their trunks to paint in front of visitors. With the help of their trainers, they can also use flowers to depict colorful trees and more. Some of the paintings have even been sold. Some of the elephants have also been trained to shoot baskets and play soccer. Shortly after departing, there is a photo spot where you can take a picture for 200 baht with a frame, which isn't too expensive. Just remember to strike a good pose and expression. The most exciting part of the performance is still the painting. You really can't believe that these paintings are done by elephants until you see it in person.

Mae Sa Waterfall
Getting There - Rent a motorbike or Grab
Attractions - Waterfall and hiking
For those of me who have come to Chiang Mai for a long time, of course, we have to explore the new way of playing here - that is, the suburb of Yulin, where there is one of Chiang Mai's most famous waterfalls, called Laksa Waterfall, this place. Chiang Mai is approximately 14 km away.
This waterfall has ten floors! Its a bit of a layer, and its a bit of a surprise to us. However, the 1-3 floors are very small, and on the side of the road, the back layer is higher than the first floor, and it is necessary to climb up slowly. Along the way, I met a lot of people coming down from the mountains. It seems that they all swimed down.
climbed from the 3rd floor to the 10th floor. It was really not easy. We climbed our heads and sweated. The whole journey is slow and steep. The more spectacular the scenery of the waterfalls on the mountain, the more tourists come to Thailand and foreign friends, and the Chinese are rare.
