This was my first time bringing my elders to Ninghai, and they immediately recommended this seaside town – Qiangjiao Town. It's about a 3-hour drive from Shanghai. We first went to Qiaohutou Seafood Market for a bowl of seafood noodles before heading straight there. Many people recommend the Folk Song Uncle's Cafe ☕️, but when we parked, it was almost full. My mom unexpectedly discovered a better cafe – Laomatou Tea & Cafe – tucked away on a small, hard-to-find boathouse at the dock. It had two large glass-walled seats with ocean views, which was lovely. The boathouse swayed gently with the sea, making for a very pleasant tea-drinking experience. After our tea, we took some photos at the popular photo spot on the hill, and then happily headed to our next destination! The whole village has just over 200 households, and commercialization is limited to a small shop at the village entrance. No restaurants, no guesthouses, not even a direct bus.
