Saint Petersburg Botanical Institute - Highly Recommended
I usually don't write travel guides, but since this place is really niche and unknown to Chinese people, and no one has written a guide about it, I decided to write this article. I hope it can provide another travel option for my fellow countrymen .
🌈 Scenic Features: August might not be the most beautiful season here, but it's still very beautiful. I can't imagine how stunning it would be in better seasons. Here, you can only blame your phone camera's performance, your photography skills, your phone's memory, and your phone's battery . Chinese people generally don't come here. This place is really suitable for quiet contemplation when you're confused, for relief when you're annoyed, for adding color when you're feeling gray, and for gaining knowledge when you're ignorant...
🎟️ Ticket Information: Garden ticket for students is 150 rubles, for adults 300 rubles. The museum inside requires a separate ticket, 150 rubles for students and 300 rubles for adults. There are some other tickets for projects I didn't buy or discover, still to be explored...
🕐️ Opening Hours: 09:00—17:00
💗 Other Tips: 1. If you just want to stroll around, it's recommended to buy a garden ticket, which is the main entrance ticket. No need to buy other tickets. You can breathe fresh air and admire various plants. It takes about 2 hours to finish, but you can spend more time or come multiple times for short visits since the ticket is not expensive.
2. If you have plenty of time and are very interested in natural plants, you can buy various museum and greenhouse tickets to study in detail. There are no guides or audio guides, but the network signal is good, so you can use a translator or phone translation function to deeply understand the natural environment and plant, fossil specimens of Russia. Without some historical background, it would be impossible to collect so many plant exhibits. The museum is better than many in other countries.
3. The park is not just an exhibition of plants and trees. There are many QR codes worth scanning, especially for various animal sounds. After scanning, listen with headphones, and you will really feel like you are in the scene with birds chirping around you.
4. The botanical museum in the park is not very large, with three floors, but if you watch and study carefully, you will gain a lot. Tickets are bought on the first floor, but for some reason, the staff can only guide you to buy tickets online. It might be troublesome for those without bank cards. It's recommended to ask at the main entrance when buying tickets and buy them together. The ticket lady at the main entrance speaks English, so it's easier to communicate.
5. I came after the rain, it was a bit cloudy, and the photo effect was not good. It's recommended to come when the sky is blue and the clouds are white for the best photos. However, I could still appreciate the beauty of flowers with raindrops after the rain. No need to be picky about the weather, just go with the flow.
6. This attraction needs to be viewed slowly and quietly, feeling its beauty and your own presence in it. It's not recommended for a rushed visit, but it's also a wise choice for a quick stop. It's like a large garden in China, with very affordable tickets. After visiting, you can walk to the nearby Neva River for a stroll, which is also very pleasant.
7. The staff here are very dedicated. Even the potted plants on the windowsills are beautifully designed, with careful color, type, and height arrangements. Don't rush by without noticing.
