Charming Retreat: A Cozy Stay at Alp Hotel Cappadocia
#boutiquehotels #100waysoftravel #turkey #cappadocia
During our stay in Cappadocia, we chose Alp Hotel, a charming boutique hotel with a cave-like design that perfectly captures the essence of the region. The location is incredibly strategic, making it easy to explore nearby attractions. Though the room was small, it was cozy and comfortable, providing a warm retreat after a day of sightseeing. The highlight of our stay was the extensive selection of delicious food for both dinner and breakfast, which truly delighted me. The hotel lobby also had a unique feature—a free photo room where guests could dress in traditional costumes and capture fun, memorable moments.

Great couple vacations in Cappadocia ❤️
#coupletravel
My partner and I just returned from the most magical trip to Cappadocia, and it truly felt like stepping into a dream! 💕 The landscape is out of this world with its fairy chimneys, cave dwellings, and those stunning rock formations. We started our mornings with a hot air balloon ride at sunrise, which is absolutely a must-do! 🌅 Watching dozens of colorful balloons drift over the valleys and into the sky was so surreal. It cost about $150 per person, but the experience was worth every penny. The view from up there with the sun lighting up the horizon was just breathtaking! 🎈
We stayed in one of those famous cave hotels in Göreme, which was such a unique experience. The rooms were cozy and cool, and waking up to the view of balloons right outside our window was incredible! 🏨 During the day, we explored the Göreme Open-Air Museum, where we saw ancient rock-cut churches with beautiful frescoes. The entrance fee was around 150 Turkish Lira, which was quite reasonable for the history and art we got to see. After that, we took a hike through Love Valley, which was perfect for some quiet time surrounded by nature and those iconic fairy chimneys.
For dinner, we went to a traditional Turkish restaurant and tried the local specialty, testi kebab, which is cooked in a clay pot – so delicious! 🍲 The people were warm and welcoming, and the food was amazing everywhere we went. Cappadocia’s magic truly comes alive at night, with the towns lit up and the stars above. 🌌
This trip was full of unforgettable moments, and Cappadocia is definitely a place that feels like it's been pulled straight from a fairytale. Perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway! 💑

Fairy Chimneys of Cappadocia
Cappadocia is an amazing place with its unique geography. The most famous geographical structures of this land are the fairy chimneys. The large, cone-like formations were created over time by erosion of the relatively soft volcanic ash around them.
These odd and spectacular formations may be found throughout Cappadocia's outstanding terrain, natural beauty, rock-cut dwellings, caverns, gorgeous valleys, picturesque lunar hills, and many more well-known locations. The hue of the renowned fairy chimneys of Cappadocia, change color with every sunset. This place is definitely one of those “once in a lifetime” experiences. No photos do this place justice.

Encountered the supermoon! The ultimate guide to Cappadocia hot air balloon
National Day trip to Turkey and flew on the first day! Also encountered the supermoon!
Cappadocia's hot air balloons are unique in the world, and no other place can replace it. It's a must-try experience! If you're on a budget, you can choose to watch from the terraces in Goreme, which costs about 30 euros per person (if you've already booked a place like Sultan with a terrace, it's free), or rent a vintage car, which costs 80 to 100 euros per car (three people).
About the companies:
Actually, the Cappadocia hot air balloon industry is very mature, as it has strict requirements for weather and wind speed, so it's safe regardless of the company's size. The difference lies in the price and the quality of breakfast. Big companies (like Butterfly) have long and beautiful champagne tables and a rich breakfast, costing 60 to 100 euros more. Smaller companies have smaller champagne tables, and breakfast might just be a small bag with bread and water. My advice is if your hotel already offers a great breakfast, there's no need to book with a big company.
About booking channels:
If you're booking with a big company, it's recommended to book in advance, as the price won't be much cheaper last minute, and you might not get a spot.
For smaller companies, I don't recommend booking in China, as it's much more expensive. You can compare prices at travel agencies in Goreme once you arrive.
About the weather:
You can check the weather forecast in advance. If it's not raining and the wind isn't strong, it's generally possible to fly. You can also check the Cappadocia University official website, where a green flag means go, a red flag means absolutely no flying, and a yellow flag means pending.
About the cheapest time:
Booking last minute is not the cheapest! And there's not a last time price every day!
Look at the weather in advance, if the days before your target date were successful, your day is also likely to be a go. During off-peak seasons and non-holidays (considering Chinese, European, and Turkish holidays), you can wait for the last time price, which can be as low as 130 to 150 euros.
If the weather is bad during your visit, regardless of the season, book in advance. Prices at the time can be the most expensive, with 180 to 200 euros being a good deal.
During holidays, it's possible for flights to be full, so don't wait until the last minute. During holidays or peak seasons, the last time price often appears around 3 or 4 in the afternoon, which is the cheapest time, with prices as low as 180 euros being a good deal, and 200 to 230 euros being normal. Waiting until the last minute might mean it's full! On our first day, it was all booked by 9:30, but we saw that the weather on 10.1 and 10.2 was very poor (in fact, no flights were successful on those days). In this case, don't panic, you can ask the travel agency to put you on a standby list (which is a bit more expensive, around 220 euros). If there's a spot, they'll send a car to pick you up, then set your alarm for 5 am and wait for the call. The flight time is an hour and a half and it's super impressive! Since it was Mid-Autumn Festival, we also encountered the supermoon, the kind where you can directly see the craters on the moon! After landing, the staff will prepare champagne (non-alcoholic), and you'll receive a certificate. Thinking back, I'm still very glad we insisted on flying the first day.
Note:
1. Ask if it's the first or second batch, prioritize the first batch.
2. Ask where you'll fly, as some fly from other locations.
3. Ask how many people per basket, 4 is better than 5.

Captivating Cappadocia
Cappadocia, located in central Turkey, is a surreal landscape famous for its unique rock formations known as fairy chimneys, ancient cave dwellings, and the enchanting spectacle of hot air balloons dotting the early morning skies. This region offers a blend of natural wonders, historical depth, and cultural richness that captivates travelers from around the world.
A hot air balloon ride at sunrise is an essential Cappadocia experience. Floating gently over the valleys, you'll witness a breathtaking panorama of the undulating terrain and the conical fairy chimneys below. This magical moment provides not only spectacular photo opportunities but also a profound sense of peace and wonder.
Exploring the ground level is just as rewarding. The Göreme Open-Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage site, showcases a complex of medieval painted cave churches that illustrate the spiritual and artistic heritage of Byzantine monks. Venturing into the underground cities like Derinkuyu offers a glimpse into ancient defensive settlements that could house thousands during times of siege.
For those visiting, it’s advisable to wear comfortable hiking shoes as the terrain can be rocky and uneven. Spring and autumn are the best times to visit due to the mild weather, allowing for full days of exploration without the intense heat of summer.
Dining in Cappadocia also offers a taste of local Turkish cuisine with specialties such as testi kebab (meat and vegetables cooked in a clay pot) and the sweet pastry, baklava. Staying in one of the region's cave hotels provides not just comfort but a unique immersive experience into the historical lifestyle of the area.
Cappadocia is a place where every dawn brings a spectacle and every corner tells a story, making it a truly mesmerizing destination for adventurers and cultural enthusiasts alike.

Hot Air Balloon Experience in Cappadocia, Turkey
I had the long-awaited hot air balloon experience in Cappadocia!
We set out at 4:30 AM, when it was still pitch dark, to ride the balloon before sunrise.
Riding the balloon, I spent the best time watching the sunrise⏳
The actual flight in the balloon lasts for 45 minutes, and it goes by so quickly because you can also enjoy watching the sunrise!
Afterward, it seems to be a classic to finish with non-alcoholic champagne🍷
The pilot of the balloon I rode was a woman, and listening to her talk was fun. I'd like to ride her balloon again if I get the chance🥂

【Turkey】Experience Riding a Camel in Cappadocia.
I rode a camel in Cappadocia🐪
The tour involves a solid one-hour ride on a camel, taking in the sights of Cappadocia from a distance, including famous spots like Rose Valley and Red Valley💕
The ride was more comfortable than I expected!
This time, it just so happened that we were the only participants, so it turned into a private tour✌️
We made sure to give a proper tip💰
By the way, it's quite hot and dry, and there's a risk of heatstroke if you don't bring water, so be careful.

The canyon view of Pigeon Valley is also quite unique.
Not far away, you can also see Uchisar Castle, which is peculiarly magnificent.

/
⭕️ 'Transportation Tips':
Take the bus from the bus station in Goreme town (towards Nevsehir direction), get off at the first stop outside the town, Uchisar town, and walk for about half an hour to arrive.
The return trip is the same, walk to the bus stop where you got off and wait for the bus.

Sunrise 🌄 & Sunset 🌅 Cappadocia!
#wecreate 📍 Cappadocia, Goreme Turkiye
“Fairy Chimneys” and Hot balloon rides 🎈 .
Cappadocia is such a historic place to visit, it’s UNESCO site and a lot to discover by day, just walk around or organise a tour to see some of the most historic ruins, caves and museums. The sunset colours are amazing! Those yellow, orange and red hues over the “ Fairy Chimneys” turns so magical and beautiful to watch 🧡💛❤️
If you never been to Cappadocia before we highly recommend you to visit this world heritage, you won’t be disappointed. Once you enter the caves you’re back in time.. These original rock formations, balloon flights and cave towns where people have lived for millennia. The locals who inhabited there carved out these caves to make their own homes inside. These ancient settlements are located in cliff walls, and some others in the mountains.

Turkey | Hiking in a fairytale town
In Cappadocia, besides the famous hot air balloons, you can also observe these unique landscapes up close. Due to the lack of public transportation coverage in the entire region, you can only choose to drive yourself or join a tour group. If you are nearby, walking through the valleys is also a good option.
.
We have chosen some points near Goreme, mainly to experience the unique landscape of Cappadocia. The route includes Uchisar Castle, Goreme Panorama, Derinkuyu Underground City, Pigeon Valley, Devrent Valley, Fairy Chimneys, and a scenic view from the top of a small town.
.
These are all pigeon houses, with very unique appearances. The interior cave rooms can be reached by passing through them, and although the journey is quite strenuous, the scenery is very magnificent. From the top of the castle, you can watch the sunset over the Rose Valley and the pigeon valley, and from the summit, you can also have a panoramic view of the countryside of Cappadocia.
Located near Goreme, Pashabagi is one of the most magical and unique landscapes in the Cappadocia region, close to the Goreme Open Air Museum. Here, you can see the tallest fairy chimney in Cappadocia, with variously shaped stone pillars rising from the ground, topped with peculiar hats. There are also other historical buildings around, worth exploring.
After returning to the small town, we hiked to the mountaintop. The scenery along the way was particularly beautiful. As evening approached, the sky gradually revealed the sunset, coloring the entire city and slowly dyeing the sky orange.
A romantic and warm sunset is about to begin, like a layer of oil painting filter, the setting sun seems within reach, as if walking into the sunset, the air is filled with infinite romance.

Breathtaking Hot Air Balloon View Cappadocia
Booked Chelebi Cave Hotel for a night (and another night at other hotel just for different experiences and views). Morning view from this hotel was truly amazing. This hotel offered one of the best hot air balloon views (must wake up earl to experience this). The price was reasonable and the breakfast spread was delicious. After having your own sweet time watching loads of balloons taking off early morning, go have breakfast with views of the unique rock formations nearby. A unique place with memorable view.Loved every second there !#cappadocia #Hotairballoonview #cavehotel #Chelebicavehotel #kapadokya #turkey

In October, the temperature in Europe begins to drop significantly - in order to extend my vacation, I decided to go on a trip in Turkey to extend my summer a bit 😊 As for Cappadocia, the region just happens to be quite cool - relative to Antalya, for example, it is an average of 10 degrees Celsius less! Taking into account the fact that you have to go to the balloons around 4 in the morning, the temperature then was about 8 degrees.... Nevertheless, I wholeheartedly recommend this experience, this view stays in the heart forever!

The fairy chimneys of Cappadocia, Turkey
A breathtaking experience watching the sunrise in a hot air balloon, above the World Heritage Site of Göreme Valley. The day started super early but it was worth it as you get to see how enchanting Cappadocia really is from high above. We booked with Atmosfer Balloons who took great care of us and the package included transport, breakfast and a drink ceremony at the end. Make sure to book well in advance as it can be expensive closer to the day. And if you’re scared of heights, make sure to watch all the hot air balloons take off in the sky from a rooftop restaurant #fallingforfall #tripblazers #turkey #cappadocia #girlstrip #sunrise
