The Heavenly Lake of Changbai Mountain in July and August is simply amazing😍! With the summer temperature around 20 degrees, it's like a paradise on earth, perfect for escaping the heat👍!
It's said that only the lucky ones can catch a glimpse of the Heavenly Lake, as it's often shrouded in mist for over 200 days a year. If you can see it, you're definitely a Lucky Girl😎! I saw the Heavenly Lake on my first visit, haha, I must be the chosen koi🥳!
Changbai Mountain has the North Slope, West Slope, and South Slope to choose from. The North Slope is more developed and you can see all the traditional sights there. The West Slope is more ecological, and the view of the Heavenly Lake is more expansive. It seems that fewer people go to the South Slope. I chose the more traditional North Slope on my first visit.
🎈About the attractions:
During the summer vacation, it's super crowded, and the attractions have a limit on the number of visitors. Once the limit is reached, ticket sales will stop, so it's strongly recommended to go early.
👉The ticket is 105 yuan, and the shuttle bus is 80 yuan.
🎈About the weather:
The weather on Changbai Mountain changes in the blink of an eye! If it's not raining, just a short-sleeved shirt with a light spring/autumn jacket will do. But if it starts to rain, it's a different story; even a light down jacket wouldn't be too much at the summit. However, there are down jackets for rent on the mountain, which I remember cost about 80 yuan each.
🎈About the routes:
There are two routes on the North Slope, Route A and Route B. It's recommended to start with Route B, which is less crowded, more scenic, and great for taking photos📷. If you can see the Heavenly Lake after walking Route B, you'll have a pretty comprehensive view. Then you can walk Route A with more confidence. Route A has more attractions than Route B, but they are quite similar, and it's extremely crowded. Personally, I prefer Route B for its tranquility!
🎈About the journey:
There are shuttle buses on the North Slope, so the walk isn't too long. But if you get motion sickness easily, be prepared with things like orange peels and motion sickness medicine, because the mountain roads can be quite winding. The altitude of Changbai Mountain is over 2000 meters, and there's hardly any altitude sickness, but some people might feel a bit dizzy. Attention!! Make sure to apply sunscreen! Sunscreen! Sunscreen! The UV rays are super strong! Be prepared if you're going in July or August! You can't use umbrellas on the mountain, so if it rains, bring a raincoat and a thick jacket.
🎈About taking photos:
It's recommended to wear light-colored, solid clothing, which goes well with the blue sky and blue water of the Heavenly Lake, making for great photos! Skirts are not recommended❌. Let me tell you a secret, I found an excellent spot for photos👉just below Route A. It's not crowded, and you can sit on the ground, casually stretch out your hand against the pure blue sky, and get amazing shots in minutes, giving you the feeling of being in Tibet.
After coming down, there are also some minor attractions like the Changbai Mountain Waterfall, Changbai Mountain Hot Springs, etc., but the Heavenly Lake is still the most stunning and healing!

🏔️ During the May Day holiday, I chose to visit the north slope of Changbai Mountain. Although it is not the best season for sightseeing, it still has its own unique charm.
🚍 Bus Route: Yanji--Hotel-Changbai Mountain North Slope Scenic Area Tianchi. Take the bus at the tourist distribution center, go through security checks in different time slots, and you can generally enter half an hour in advance. Then take the scenic area bus to the foot of the mountain, followed by a direct bus to Tianchi at the transfer center.
🚶 Walking Route: First take Route B, which has fewer people and is easier to walk, allowing for leisurely photography. Then take Route A to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Tianchi.
💦 Changbai Waterfall, Julong Hot Spring: Take the transfer bus from Tianchi to the Changbai Waterfall scenic area. Visiting Changbai Mountain.
I was very lucky that when I reached the summit, the sky was clear and fogless, allowing for a clear view of Heaven Lake. The water was as clear as jade, the sky as blue as silk, grand yet delicate, truly a place one must visit in their lifetime.
The birch forest at the mountainside, the grasslands and tundra near the summit, and the bald peaks at the top (which were said to be covered with snow until a month ago), show a clear change in vegetation with altitude. Unfortunately, the car was moving fast, and the mountain roads were dangerous, so there was no chance to take pictures during this part of the journey.
The weather on Changbai Mountain is unpredictable, with sudden rain and sunshine. As soon as we descended the mountain, it started to rain. If we had been half an hour later, we might not have been able to enjoy the magnificent view of Heaven Lake so smoothly.
Climbing from the base to the summit to see Heaven Lake requires waiting in several long lines, and I mean long lines. Be mentally prepared, as it is much more strenuous than queuing at the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang. Also, the temperature at the summit is low, so be mindful of adding or removing layers of clothing.

Can't make it to Tianchi! But Changbai Mountain is still worth a visit
Yes, this fool🤪 bought a ticket🎫 for 8:30 in the morning and accidentally pressed refund.
Then I had to split up with my friend and play separately.
Hesitated😔 about whether to go up or not, after all, going up at 12 o'clock and having to catch the 4:30 bus to Yanji is quite a rush.

The Tianchi ticket is sold separately and requires an ID card. The opening hours of Tianchi in winter are subject to weather conditions, and it is closed for safety reasons during heavy snow and strong winds.
Erdaobaihe Town is very close to the entrance of the scenic area.

❄Precautions:
The best time to visit Changbai Mountain is from December to February and March of the following year. If you come too early, there may not be any snow yet, and if you come too late, the heavy snow will close the mountain and you won't be able to get in! So everyone must arrange their time reasonably!

1⃣Down jacket/cotton coat/storm coat (whatever keeps you warm!)

Ten days, three cities! This is the daily life of a travel blogger! After the trip to Jilin City, I took the intercity train to Changbai Mountain! The fare from Jilin to Changbai Mountain is 98 yuan, I will tell you about the trip to Changbai Mountain in a running account!
There are not many people on the car, they are generally small potatoes from the south, they are very excited to see the snow through the car window! And me, I actually fell asleep! Perhaps, this is the difference between Northeast children and southern small potatoes, from Jilin City to Changbai Mountain, about an hour and a half drive.
Changbai Mountain Station is located in Erdaobaihe Town, I stayed here for two days, respectively checked in the Demon World Scenic Area, Demon World Drifting, and Changbai Mountain North Slope! This season, there are few tourists in Changbai Mountain, maybe it's because of the cold, or maybe it's because Harbin is too popular.
There are many hotels and homestays in Erdaobaihe Town, the price is not outrageous, the environment is similar to the chain hotels in the city! When traveling to Changbai Mountain, don't miss the iron pot stew, don't look at me as a Northeasterner, this mouth will never get tired! Especially the big cake in the iron pot stew, especially tasty.
On the first day, after checking into the hotel, I took a taxi to the Demon World Scenic Area. The Demon World is worthy of being called the Demon World, it's simply too dreamy! There is not only rime in Jilin, the rime here is equally wonderful, under the contrast of ice and snow, it seems like a fairyland on earth! If you like photography, you can produce big pictures here in minutes.
The Demon World has a special project, which is ice and snow drifting. On the second day, Changbai Mountain, really came! Take a bus at the tourist distribution center, you can directly reach the North Slope Scenic Area, the famous Changbai Mountain Waterfall is on the North Slope! The wind on the mountain is very strong, it is not an exaggeration to say that it is a bone-chilling wind, to see the Tianchi, you need to take a section of the eco-car, and you need to climb the stairs!
It's really cold, the eco-car window is full of frost! The winding mountain road, the driver drives very fast, how to describe it? It's a bit hard, but when I saw Tianchi, I felt it was worth it! In the cold winter, the sky, the mountains, and the snow form a picture of ink and wash!
