Hatyai Food Journey: From Chokdee Dimsum to South Thai Specialties
#thailandtrip
During my trip to Hatyai, I started the day with breakfast at Chokdee Dimsum. The place was packed, and there were so many choices of dim sum to pick from. Everything was fresh and delicious, especially the steamed dumplings.
After breakfast, I headed to Central Festival Mall for another round of shopping. This time, I decided to have lunch at the food court located on the ground floor. I went for the chicken rice, which was a simple but satisfying meal.
In the afternoon, I tried the local Thai milk tea, Cha Tra Mue. The tea was so flavorful and rich; I can see why it's popular.
For dinner, I went to the famous South Thai Bird's Nest restaurant. I was excited to try their suckling pig, which lived up to its reputation—it was crispy and juicy. I ate way too much, so later I stopped by 7-11 and bought some Yakult to help with digestion.

⭐️ The atmosphere of the shop is decorated in the style of a Chinese restaurant. There are a lot of customers, but the shop manages well, so you don't have to wait long.
🍲🥟🥘 Recommended menus that I would like you to try are
1. Bak Kut Teh: It is a Chinese Hokkien and Teochew-style pork bone soup. The soup is rich and fragrant with Chinese herbs. It goes very well with plain rice. I recommend the large bowl for 350 baht, which can be eaten by 3-4 people. It's a great value.
2. Dim Sum: There are many to choose from, such as steamed buns, dumplings, and many more. There are many to choose from in front of the cabinet. The price is 25 baht per steamer.
Good service. When the customers are finished eating, the staff cleans the table and wipes it down very quickly. The food doesn't take long to wait. The taste is good and delicious, worth the price.
📍 Location: Soi P. Nattapol 3, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province (near Siam Commercial Bank)
💰 Price per person: 100 - 250 baht

The most delicious and famous dim sum restaurant in Hat Yai.
📣The most delicious and famous dim sum restaurant in Hat Yai has seating for 4 units. If it's a holiday, it will be very crowded, so it's recommended to come early to get a table.
Come back, come back. Normally, people in Hat Yai eat dim sum for breakfast. Every time I come, I have to find time to eat before going back every time. ^^ I highly recommend coming here.
🫶🏻You can order Bak Kut Teh at the table. We usually order pure pork tail or pork tail + pork ribs. The meat is tender and delicious. Unlimited refills of soup and vegetables.
📍For dim sum, when you sign up, they will give you a table number and a tray to choose your dim sum. You can choose what you like and have them steam it right away. If it's a Saturday-Sunday, it might take a little longer because it's crowded.
✔️The food here is not expensive. There are many steamed items to choose from. You have to remember not to be greedy because you might not be able to finish it all. 😂 Here, we like the shumai (pork, shrimp, crab), BBQ pork buns, and various steamed items like pork with corn, pork with shrimp, cabbage, etc.
I really like the tea here; it helps to balance the richness of the food.

Hat Yai, Thailand Travel Guide: A Niche Destination for Food and Drink
Hat Yai, Thailand is a small town near the Malaysian border, making it a popular weekend getaway for Malaysians who come to enjoy the low costs and delicious food ❤️. Chinese tourists are rarely seen here, so I highly recommend this niche Thai destination 💯.
There are many flights from Bangkok to Hat Yai every day ✈️

1️⃣ Hat Yai is really small, and taxi fares within the city range from 70-150 baht 🚗🚗🚗. It's very convenient to get around 🚗🚗🚗.
2️⃣ For accommodation, choose a hotel within the city area. Most are around 200-300 RMB per night 🏨.
3️⃣ Lee Gardens is a must-visit for food‼️ Especially the 'crispy pork' stall inside, which has been a staple at this night market for years. Many tourists come specifically to eat here 😋. The night market is quite small, so just take a taxi. Every stall offers something special.
4️⃣ Mother Cows 🥛 is a local fresh milk shop that also sells various milk drinks and delicious bread and desserts‼️‼️‼️ The bread is sliced, buttered, toasted, and topped with cream, making it incredibly tasty 😋. Pair it with a sip of fresh milk for a delightful experience 😌.
5️⃣ Good Luck Dim Sum Bak Kut Teh → A famous old shop where you can choose your dim sum and have it steamed on the spot. Two people can eat to their heart's content for just over 60 RMB 💰.
6️⃣ Greenway Night Market is more modernized. The food area requires a prepaid card, and any unused balance will be refunded. The dining environment is also relatively clean.
7️⃣ Hat Yai has many popular coffee and dessert shops. You need to explore the map for these. I previously visited Namkee Café, which was very nice with a fresh and clean vibe, and everything was great.
8️⃣ There are many massage shops around Lee Garden Night Market, with foot massages costing around 200 baht per hour. However, the environment is average. If you want a better environment, you'll need to go a bit further.

Famous Dim Sum Place in Hatyai 🇹🇭
#winhkflight
📍Chokdee Dim Sum, Hatyai
Visited this famous dim sum place in Hatyai and was surprised to see such a large crowd in front of the store at 8.30am! Would recommend to come earlier to avoid the crowds as the line keeps getting longer as time passed! Although the line was long, they do have a systematic line up and seatings system, so it did not take us long to pick our dim sum and get a seat! Great place for breakfast, they do offer a great variety of dim sum, from steamed buns to prawn dumplings, steamed fish and more! Food was decent, dim sum was quite different from what we have in Malaysia, but it’s quite nice! Worth a try! Plus, dim sum comes in an affordable price of 25 baht per plate!
I wish to travel to Hong Kong for the food!
