Let's go to Tokyo in June|A trendy bookstore in a wealthy district
Located in the affluent district of Daikanyama, Tsutaya Bookstore is said to be ranked among the top 20 bookstores in the world, enjoying a high status (when the Tsutaya Bookstore in Shanghai first opened, it was hard to get a reservation). There are a total of 3️⃣ buildings, with transparent green glass exterior walls that are highly recognizable. The interior is spacious, bright, and simply designed. According to the official introduction, it houses 150,000 books. There is also a Starbucks coffee ☕ inside, as well as canvas bags, stationery, and other gifts for sale, though the prices are not cheap.
.
There are no noisy kids in this bookstore, and no pretentious influencers taking pictures with a book. The atmosphere is very quiet, making it a great place for tourists to take a break.
I took a break with my child in the cafe area, ordered a cup of coffee and matcha, and both tasted good.

The literary Daikanyama Tsutaya, selling something called a lifestyle
This time, because I stayed in Tokyo for more than ten days, I had enough time to revisit every nook and cranny I hadn't properly explored before, including Jay Chou's favorite Daikanyama.
Unlike the bustling Ginza and Shinjuku, Daikanyama is an artistic, low-key, and tranquil neighborhood that is closer to the local way of life. And the biggest motivation for coming to Daikanyama this time was this literary Tsutaya bookstore.
📚Bookstore Features:
I have photographed the three Tsutayas in Shanghai and really like their cultural atmosphere and the interweaving of intellectual vibes. However, this was my first visit to the largest Tsutaya in Tokyo.
📕This Tsutaya is a terraced building, consisting of three separate buildings connected together. There is a 'Magazine Street' running through it. Although it looks different from the Tsutaya in Shanghai on the outside, once you enter, that familiar atmosphere hits you. It's not only popular with tourists, but also with locals.
📗Here, Tsutaya is not just a bookstore, but a diversified living space, selling something called Lifestyle.
📘The first floor has a wide range of domestic and international books and magazines, while the second floor has an independent cafe that also offers light meals. The range of products for sale is very broad, including even a convenience store. All books in the store can be browsed freely. Many people come here to read books and drink coffee, and you can also see many pet owners walking their dogs. The area around this Tsutaya has become a sanctuary for pet lovers. Here you can truly experience a local way of life.
🌿Surroundings:
As a wealthy area in Japan, Daikanyama has many trendy brands and boutiques. Since you're at Tsutaya, you should also explore the surroundings.
✅The Ivy Place next to Tsutaya is also a very popular spot online recently. It's nice for coffee and brunch. When it's not too hot, sitting outside is very comfortable, surrounded by greenery.
✅The ASO across the street from Tsutaya has a great environment. Unfortunately, it was being renovated during my visit and won't reopen until after September. If you come to Tsutaya, you can have lunch there, both the environment and the dishes are very nice.
✅It's not far to walk to Nakameguro and Ebisu from here, and you can stroll all the way, enjoying a City walk.

My favorite bookstore in Tokyo. If you want to get various kinds of art or fashion books, this is the best place. They have also many English fashion magazines. All customers are stylish.
There are fewer children, so you can enjoy your time quietly. But it’s not a good place for families with small children. There is Starbucks on the ground floor a cozy cafe, and a shared lounge upstairs.overall awesome
