Jianshui Purple Pottery, also known as the jade of southern Yunnan, is one of China's "Four Famous Pottery." Whether in terms of clay raw materials, craftsmanship inheritance, or industrial foundation, Jianshui Purple Pottery has unique advantages. The clay is sourced from the colorful mountains within the region, with high iron content, making the finished products hard and strong, with a metallic texture on the surface and a sound like metal when struck. After unglazed polishing, meticulous grinding, and polishing, the texture is fine and bright as a mirror, earning the reputation of being "as hard as iron, as bright as water, as smooth as jade, and as resonant as a chime." It is a highly recognizable cultural industry and regional cultural symbol of Honghe Prefecture and even Yunnan Province.
The thousand-year-old Jianshui Purple Pottery is a shining pearl in the history of Chinese ceramics. Its exquisite artworks and complex production process make this heritage even more precious. The 2024 Grape Art Festival has successfully concluded. Since the first Grape Art Festival, Dongfeng Yun has always been at the forefront of innovation, bringing countless unforgettable experiences and memories to visitors. Friends who love Jianshui Purple Pottery, let's look forward to gathering again at the Dongfeng Yun Grape Art Festival next year.
