The Mysterious Dulong River: Unveiling Millennia of Secrets on Foot
The Dulong River, a land shrouded in mystery by time, meanders like a winding silver dragon through the high mountain gorges.
It carries the secrets of a thousand years, waiting for the footsteps of the brave to unveil its veil.
The river babbles, its surface shimmering, as if mysterious whispers echo through the canyon.
The green mountains on both sides are like ink, with clouds and mist swirling around, as if hiding endless secrets and ancient legends.
Every step taken feels like entering another world, filled with mystery and the unknown.
In the dense primeval forest, towering ancient trees reach into the clouds, their branches interweaving into a dark and profound world.
Sunlight filters through the gaps in the leaves, casting mottled shadows, as if guided by a mysterious force, leading us deeper into this mysterious land.
In this enigmatic forest, we might encounter some peculiar flora and fauna, messengers of nature, guarding this ancient and mysterious land. A nimble squirrel leaps from treetop to treetop, its deep eyes curiously surveying us; a majestic herd of deer forages leisurely in the distance, their silhouettes flickering in the mist, adding an air of mystery.
Traversing narrow gorges and climbing steep peaks, each challenge brings us closer to the mysterious heart of the Dulong River.
And those Dulong ethnic villages hidden deep in the mountains exude a simple and mysterious charm, making us feel as if we are in the midst of an ancient legend.
At night, we camp by the river.
The starry sky is brilliant, the Milky Way pours down, as if the entire universe is revolving above our heads. The campfire blazes, we sit together, sharing the bits and pieces of our hiking experience, yet our hearts are filled with awe and curiosity for this mysterious land.
Under this vast starry sky, it seems we can have a mysterious dialogue with nature and the universe.
The mysterious Dulong River hiking journey is an exploration and experience of millennia-old secrets.
On this land full of the unknown and fantastical, we feel the mysterious power of nature and the wonder of life.
Hiking the Dulong River, we have come to know ourselves anew, as well as the world.
This is an unforgettable journey of mystery, one that we will remember for a lifetime.

Yunnan-Tibet Trip 23
Yunnan-Tibet Trip 23
2023.09.16 Arrived at Longyuan Village, Derung Ethnic Township at 08:15 in the morning. The Derung is a unique ethnic group in Yunnan. 25 years ago, I came to Yunnan to shoot the special film 'Chinese Ethnic Sports', but unfortunately had to give up because there was no road to reach here. Today, I finally got my wish to come here. The Derung people call themselves 'Derung', and they are also known as 'Qupa', 'Qulo', etc. They mainly live in the Derung River Basin in Gongshan Derung and Nu Autonomous County, and they are the earliest masters of the Derung River area. The Derung people originally had the custom of primitive group marriage, which no longer exists. Both men and women have loose hair, and young girls have the habit of tattooing their faces. The Derung people believe that everything has a spirit and worship natural objects. When we entered Longyuan Village, we were fortunate to take photos with the tattooed grandmother in the village. Today, this village is also one of the central government's fiscal transfer projects in border areas. The scattered and staggered uniform-shaped houses of the villagers are neat and unique. Dulong River 'Little Switzerland'
Dulong River 'Little Switzerland', the Derung people, who stepped from primitive society into modern civilization, were not photographed until 1923. Now there are beautiful chalets and 5G signals here, my country is really amazing!
This is Longyuan Village, Dulongjiang Township. Many nearby villages are as beautiful as here. Each village has a two-story building for each family. The design of the exterior incorporates the elements and culture of their respective ethnic groups. Against the backdrop of blue sky, white clouds, green water and green mountains, it is just like a small village in the Alps.
