Beautiful Garden that feel peaceful
Decide to head to the garden of morning calm despite not being interested in nature and photography. However the views made me in awe and each garden was so beautiful.
The pond garden is the highlight of this attraction, as it shows a korean style garden.
However i recommend that you reach the garden in the morning to avoid tourists.
It is recommended if you like nature, photography or just want a nice walk down a beautiful garden.

Top 3 spots in Garden of Morning Calm, Seoul
#seoul
When visiting The Garden of Morning Calm, there are many beautiful areas to take amazing photos, and these are my top 3 recommendations!
1. The Pond Garden
The Pond garden has been used as a filming location for many Korean TV series, including the hit drama, “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds,” starred by Park Bo-gum and Kim Yoo-jung.
2. Millenium Juniper
This Juniper tree has lived for a thousand years and it’s a sight not to be missed!
3. Hometown Garden
Hometown Garden is where a typical Korean thatched cottage is surrounded by trees and plants that Korean people love to plant near their houses. Very scenic.
Last but not least, if you happen to visit The Garden of Morning Calm this summer, do not miss the special Hydrangea exhibition on display until July 2023!

The Garden of Morning Calm

We visited the Garden of Morning Calm when in South Korea (approximately 1.5-2 hours drive from Seoul city center) and it did not disappoint!
The Garden of Morning Calm is beautifully maintained with almost 5000 species of plants, and showcases many lovely flora and fauna throughout the year.
I will be back!
My rating of this attraction: 4 ⭐️ out of 5!

Best place for flower lover
We bought this ticket from klook to the garden of morning calm, initially I thought I would be boring because there are more than million of flower here for you to enjoy, but turned out I was wrong. I really enjoy this place because it’s an extremely beautiful place with lots of colourful flowers. My fav flower is tulip and I’m so glad that they have lots of colourful tulips here!
We were also very lucky to still be able to catch the cherry blossom here even is the end of April, it was so beautiful 🥹 we were told by the tour guide that a lot of the Korean shows were film here also, especially the pond with a hut in the middle.
It took us about 1 hour to reach here from Seoul, I think it’s totally worth the time if you’re a flower lover. There are some tea house and cafes here but we didn’t get to try because we were running out of time. Will definitely come back if I travel to Seoul again.

📍 Gapyeong, Morning Calm Arboretum
⠀
I went to the #MorningCalmArboretum for a spring outing.
Now the tulips are beautiful and the cherry blossoms are starting to bloom 😆
Each garden has a different concept, so it's a fun place to stroll around.
My favorite gardens were the Korean garden with a large pond
and the Sky Garden with a wide tulip field on a hill, so be sure to check them out 🌷
Since the space is so spacious and there are many photo zones,
it's also a great place to take pictures 😆
There is plenty of parking space, so it's also recommended as a drive course near Seoul.
🌷 Morning Calm Arboretum Spring Flower Festival 🌷
✅ From April 22 to May 7
✅ There are many things to enjoy, such as flea markets, magic shows, and music performances on weekends and holidays!

This is the Garden of Morning Calm located in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. The garden’s name originates from the Indian poet, Rabindranath Tagore, who called Korea ‘the land of the morning calm’. The design and layout of the garden promote this further through softly curved paths, asymmetrical gardens, and the display of uniquely Korean plants. The garden really lived up to its name. It’s relaxing to take a stroll around the garden. It’s perfect for a romantic getaway.

Anyang Park- best for artsy people who wish to have their shots with less photo bummer!
Nami Island- Romantic, Instagram worthy, Post-card shots can be taken here!
Starfield Mall (CoeX Library)- who doesn’t like to take their photos taken with a mountain of books as your backdrop? Also, if you are a bookworm, this is your feast!
Seoul Tower- we hiked up to the tower. The view was just relaxing and therapeutic for a nature lover in me.
Dongdaemun Design Plaza- For those people who love to see unique architecture. In my opinion, this gave me an Amsterdam vibe.

garden of morning calm
during my visit in seoul, i managed to set apart some time and visit the garden of morning calm. i booked a tour package which included 4 locations in total. (garden of morning calm, petit france, nami island and the bike trail) this package took up the whole day.
i wished i was able to spend more time here as it was SUPER beautiful. the autumn leaves were bright red!! it is truly nature’s beauty. the view was really really really amazing. in addition, the air was so fresh and crisp. i got myself a light snack (eomuk/korean fish cake) and bought myself an americano just to enjoy this perfect view.
it is a nice place to take a walk :)

#fallingforfall
Garden of morning calm is located in Gapyeong district of gyeonggi province, about 2 hours from Seoul by car and train.
It is one of the best places to come for those who love nature and botanical gardens. In the fall the garden offers a breathtaking view of those autumn leaves and they start to turn red. As you walk in the garden, there are many trees in different styles, and each one has a very different scent.
It is a very popular place for romantic couples and famous TV series were shot here.
In addition, festivals in different styles are held here during the 4 seasons.

Illumination at Garden of Morning calm
In winter, most plants and faunas will not survive by either shedding their leaves or went into hibernation. While the Garden of Morning calm is a park that showcases various faunas from spring to autumn, this does not stop the park from attracting visitors by decorating the area with millions of LED lamps, brighten up the whole park with different themes while the day is very short and nights are long.
In contrast from previous season, visitors will enjoy the park at night instead of the day, since now the theme of excitement is different. As this park is located at mountaineous area, temperature will be very low so be sure to keep warm. Illumination generally will be on display from December till February.

Colourful autumn at Garden of Morning Calm
The Garden of Morning Calm, full of different faunas during different seasons, the autumn does not dissapoint us with the stunningly beautiful blooms of Chrysantymum, cosmos, maple etc. The Chrysantymum flower itself has multiple colours which adds on the tunes of the park, added by the glaring red of the maple tree.
Most of the visitors will make a trip down here after visiting Name Island taking the shuttle bus. Due to the altitude of the park, weather tends to be at the cold side although its only autumn, so be sure to keep warm. The best time to visit if end October to early November.

beautiful place, please visit ❤️
did not know i would enjoy this place as much as I did. allocate about 2-3 hours here to fully enjoy it, consider it healing time hahahahaha. apart from the beautiful nature and scenery, there is a bakery and cafe to chill as well.
when you go in, you’ll see that there are numerous “main” / key locations within the park. visit them all! they are really worth it. i went during spring and the colours really took my breath away. i heard that during winter, they light up the garden at night, so it would be a completely different experience.
would recommend this to everyone, even those who aren’t big nature fans! #flowerlover #naturalwonders

GardenofMorning is the oldest private garde#travelinspiration in #korea. It is an artistic space with a beautiful balance between the Korean concept of natural curves with asymmetry #chuncheon. Scenic walkways, beautifully manicured grass, and flower beds connect the garden's 20 different themed sections.

This place is more than just a garden. This is an arboretum which by definition means a botanical collection comprising almost exclusively of trees. We visited during November 2019 i.e. during Autumn. The colours of the autumn leaves of the trees were really breathtaking. We strolled along the beautifully landscaped garden.

The Garden of Morning Calm is a hotspot for couples and families to come in Spring and Autumn. It is the oldest private garden in Korea with a beautiful balance of scenic walkways, colorful grass and flowers. In fact, tourists and locals can come here at any time in the year because they hold distinct festivals for each season. In winter, the Lighting Festival keeps this place lively and colorful as in the other seasons.
I visited this Garden in autumn with my boyfriend. In Seoul, there are many beautiful parks but this Garden is worth taking a short trip to visit. There is an admission fee but it’s worth it. Buses and restaurants are right in front of the gate. Inside the garden, there are different layers of easy trails for you to walk with your beloved one.

Petit Prince Village - Back to the childhood memory
Petit Prince Village (Le Petite France) in Gapyeong is a charming, French-inspired village that transports visitors into the world of Le Petit Prince. Nestled in the scenic countryside of Gapyeong, it’s a popular day trip, especially for families.
We stayed overnight in Gapyeong and prepared for a full day to explore the area. In the morning, we spent time visiting the Garden of the Morning Calm, and in the afternoon, we drove to Petit Prince Village. When we arrived, it was quite late, and surprisingly, we didn’t encounter any crowds. The village was tranquil, and we were lucky to enjoy a peaceful visit.
At the ticket office, the lady there was very kind and gave my child a few lollipops. Of course, my daughter loved it and was excited to explore Petit Prince Village, with its beautiful themed architecture, Le Petit Prince exhibits, and the scenic views overlooking Cheongpyeong Lake.
Petit Prince Village is perfect for a light-hearted visit, so don’t miss this place!

The garden of morning calm is beautiful all year around
The Garden of Morning Calm is a serene and picturesque garden located in Gapyeong, South Korea. We hired a private car from Seoul for the trip, making it easy to explore the surrounding area and stay overnight in the Gapyeong region. Renting a car in Korea is simple with an international driving license, and using Naver Map made navigation effortless, providing a convenient way to travel around Korea at our own pace.
The garden is breathtaking, with stunning landscapes year-round. No matter when you visit, there are always plenty of Instagram-worthy spots. We visited in late spring, just after the cherry blossoms had finished blooming. In their place, we were greeted by vibrant azaleas, tulips, and wisteria, creating a colorful and captivating atmosphere. Even though it wasn't the famous cherry blossom season, the garden was still incredibly beautiful. If you can, it's best to visit on a weekday to enjoy a lighter crowd and truly immerse yourself in the tranquil surroundings.
Visitors typically spend at least half a day exploring the garden, but a full day allows for a more leisurely experience. If you choose to spend just half a day here, I recommend heading to the Little Prince village in the afternoon, another delightful stop in Gapyeong!

💞Reasons to Recommend: A lit bit of history
The Garden by Morning Calm was named after a poem by Rabindranath Tagore, the renowned Indian poet and Nobel laureate 📜🌟. Inspired by Tagore’s imagery of tranquility and beauty, the garden’s founder, Han Sang-kyung, wanted to reflect that serene atmosphere 🌿✨. The name captures the garden’s peaceful and picturesque environment, blending nature’s splendor with poetic calm 🌸💫. It's a beautiful tribute to Tagore’s vision of serene beauty 🌼🌺.

Garden of Morning Calm's Enchanted Oasis
#koreatrip
In the heart of Gyeonggi-do, the Garden of Morning Calm is a tranquil haven that harmonizes nature's beauty with artistic expression. As I wandered through the lush gardens, vibrant flowers, and serene water features, I felt my senses come alive. The carefully crafted landscapes, inspired by Korean culture and philosophy, created a sense of balance and harmony. With each step, the gentle rustling of leaves and soft chirping of birds composed a soothing melody, calming my mind and nourishing my soul. This enchanting oasis is a must-visit for anyone seeking serenity and inspiration.
This time, a budget traveler has come to Korea, and the first stop is a park. Why travel so far just to visit a park? Because some places in Hong Kong and Macau really can't offer the same tranquility. We arrived early and there were already many locals. Besides the natural scenery, this park also has a bakery and a cafe. After walking around and taking photos, you can relax with a cup of coffee and a pastry.🤣
