Gunung Gading National Park

Great hiking and wildlife sighting here. Contrary to popular belief, rafflesia is in bloom 365 days a year, just not always in the “conservation area” where it is more easily spotted and accompanied by a guide. Our guide was super amazing and knew so much about the park and all the wildlife. Got to swim in the natural springs and enjoy the fresh air. Will be coming back for overnight stays for better hiking and wildlife sighting.

A Nature Lover's Paradise: Gunung Gading Lundu
Rating: ★★★★☆
Gunung Gading Lundu, located in Sarawak, Malaysia, is an enchanting destination that offers an exceptional natural experience for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. With its pristine rainforests, stunning waterfalls, and unique flora and fauna, Gunung Gading Lundu is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. I recently had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful national park and was captivated by its beauty.
One of the main attractions at Gunung Gading Lundu is undoubtedly the Rafflesia flower, the largest flower in the world. Witnessing the blooming of this magnificent and rare flower was a truly unforgettable experience. The park boasts a rich population of Rafflesia, and if you're lucky, you might even get to see one in full bloom during your visit. The park rangers are knowledgeable and provide insightful information about these fascinating flowers, making the experience even more rewarding.
Aside from the Rafflesia, Gunung Gading Lundu offers a plethora of trekking trails, each offering a unique adventure. Whether you're an experienced hiker or a beginner, there are trails suitable for every fitness level. The trails lead you through dense forests, crossing streams and rivers, and finally rewarding you with breathtaking views from the summit. The vibrant biodiversity within the park is truly remarkable, with various species of plants, birds, and insects making every step of the journey a delight for nature enthusiasts.
The park is well-maintained, with clearly marked trails and adequate facilities for visitors. The visitor center provides valuable information about the park's flora and fauna, and the friendly staff is always ready to assist with any queries. There are also picnic areas and camping grounds available for those who wish to spend more time immersing themselves in the tranquility of the surroundings.
One thing to note is that Gunung Gading Lundu is a remote location, and reaching the park requires a bit of effort. However, the journey itself is part of the adventure, as you drive through scenic landscapes and rural villages. It's advisable to plan your visit well in advance and check the park's opening hours to ensure a smooth trip.
While Gunung Gading Lundu is a magnificent destination, I would recommend visiting during the weekdays or non-peak seasons to fully enjoy the tranquility and serenity of the park. During weekends and holidays, the park can get crowded, which might detract from the overall experience.
In conclusion, Gunung Gading Lundu is a nature lover's paradise that offers a unique and awe-inspiring experience. From the captivating Rafflesia flower to the diverse trails and rich biodiversity, the park is a testament to the natural beauty of Sarawak. If you're seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, Gunung Gading Lundu is a destination that should not be missed.

REFRESHING AND SERENE ESCAPE 😍
This stunning waterfall is the perfect place to relax and unwind amidst lush, verdant surroundings.
The waterfall is surrounded by dense rainforest. The pool at the base of the waterfall is deep enough for swimming, and the water is crystal clear – making it the perfect spot to take a refreshing swim on a hot day. The area around the waterfall is relatively secluded and tranquil, and visitors can relax and enjoy the natural beauty around them.
