Huangqiao Ancient Town
Huangqiao Ancient Town is an ancient town within the territory of Taixing City, Jiangsu Province.
Huangqiao Ancient Town was established during the Yuanfeng period of Emperor Shenzong of the Northern Song Dynasty. It is a millennium-old town with a long history and a cultural town with rich heritage.
It is located to the south of the Yangtze River, connected to Rugao in the east, and adjacent to Jiangyan in the north. It serves as an important gateway from central and northern Jiangsu to southern Jiangsu and is the largest market town in the region. Historically, Huangqiao has been known as a crucial water hub, with the saying 'dividing the Huai pirates in the north, connecting to the Yangtze tides in the south.' Provincial Road 334, Ruhuang Line, and Jiangba Line intersect within the town area. The Ningjingyan and Ningtong expressways pass by Huangqiao, and the new (Yi) Chang (Xing) railway has a passenger and freight marshalling station in Huangqiao.
