Food street - Huimin street
Address - You can type in drum tower in the Didi, the Muslim Quarter street is right next to it.
Ambiance/Facilities - Go to this street when you are hungry, so that you have enough space to taste different dishes...there's a lot to choose from; yoghurt, tofu, ice-cream, bread, noodles etc. While you are there you can go for a ear cleaning, it's an interesting experience😋
Highlights - All the different food and drinks to taste. The Huimin street yoghurt is one of my favorites.
Avg. Price per Person - From 10 upwards...there's a lot to taste🤤😁 Some people spend 50 yuan and others 150 yuan. The food is cheap and delicious here.

Just as its name implies, the Muslim Quarter, also known as Huimin Jie in Pingyin, is the hub of the Muslim community in Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. Located to the north of the West Street in the city center, the quarter covers several blocks inhabitated by over 20,000 Muslims. There are about ten mosques in the area of the Muslim Street, among which the Great Mosque in the Huajue Lane is the most famous and popular.
Muslim food and souvenir market is another feature of the area. The Beiyuanmen Muslim Market located just to the north of the Drum Tower is a great choice after the sightseeing in the city center. About 500 meters (about 547 yards) in length from south to north, the street can be reached through the archway under the Drum Tower. This street is paved with dark colored stone with green trees providing heavy shade during summer; the buildings on both sides of the street are modeled on the styles of both the Ming (1368-1644) and the Qing Dynasties (1644-1911). Some of the constructions are restaurants; while others are stores. But here there is one thing in common: the owners are all Muslims.

Muslim Quarter Xi’an
A must see in Xi’an! An amazing street for all the senses. Frozen yogurt rolls, pomegranate juice and the most decorative breads. Also a place for all souvenirs and bartering in the market.

Xi'an is amazingly rich in culture and great for food lovers❣ It was the beginning of the old silk road and therefore a festival of food culture. There is even a Muslim Quarter or a street known as Huimin Street where you can try amazing local delicacy. The street leads to the bell tower which is also one of the cultural highlights of the city 👌 Unfortunately there are not many options for vegetarians but still worth a visit and you can opt for ice cream or their sweet offerings.

📍Muslim street or Muslim quarter, Xi’an
I came here during my winter break with my cousin. It was a really fun trip. I couldn’t believe i made myself all the way to Xi’an. This Muslim Quarter is heaven on earth. I really love everything about this place. They sell all halal food (food that doesn’t contain any pork). Everything is just beef or lamb. I was strolling around and just bought everything that caught my eyes and looked interesting. The RouJiaMo (5th picture) was the highlight of this place. the bread was so crunchy and soft while the beef was perfectly seasoned and tender!!

It's a food court, but it has super delicious special coffee. When you enter the door, there are all kinds of original art peripherals of Xi'an artists. It's a very cute contrast. It's a creative bun.
It's a food court, but it has super delicious special coffee.
When you enter the door, there are all kinds of original art peripherals of Xi'an artists.
It's a very cute contrast. It's a creative bun. There are problems and there are many people in it. Today, there are good things happening.
High-value hand strings, high-foot cups...
I also got the Sao Qin co-branded seal.
It's really hard to go out empty-handed.
The coffee in the shop is mainly special.
Friends strongly recommend: Bingfeng American and Huamei American.
I ordered a cup of caffeine-free Huamei Lemon Soda.
There is free coffee grounds at the door, which is very suitable for keeping as a souvenir.

Delicious Food of Xi'An: Gourmet Travel Destination
#eatlikealocal
As the ancient capital of China for over 13 dynasties, Xi'an inherited the most important elements of Chinese culinary culture. In addition, it is the final city of the Great Silk Road, which was influenced by a large Muslim population. Various dishes made from cooked wheat are known throughout the country, and popular dishes include flatbreads in lamb soup, meat burger, cold noodles, beef balls soup with pepper, Bianbian noodles, etc. Take a tour of Xi'an and learn more about the amazing dishes here!
Xi'an mainly offers 2 types of unique rice cakes. They taste almost the same, but they are called differently. The dish is in the shape of a yellow circle, dried dates are laid out on top, it is steamed and cut into small pieces towards the inner circle. It is named after a flower with a sweet aroma, in Chinese Guihuagao. Although there is another rice cake with stickiness, the mirror cake, because the round rice cake looks like a small round mirror, it looks colorful and delicate, and sometimes they even draw a cartoon figure on it.
Xi'an is a city obsessed with all kinds of nuts. To preserve the nuts, crushed candies were invented. It's interesting to watch how candies are made. The workers put the hot sugar through the hook several times, and the candy is transferred to a large wooden stump, where it is sprinkled with nuts. Several other workers continue to beat the candies with nuts with a wooden hammer. The sound and busy traffic really attract a lot of tourists.
Where to taste the most authentic dishes of Xi'an cuisine? In addition to the recommended restaurants in Xi'an, food streets also offers you a wide selection of local Xi'an cuisine. Among the various grocery streets of Xi'an, the Muslim Quarter and Yongxinfang district are the two most popular, especially at night. Muslim Quarter serves a variety of local Xi'an cuisine and Halal snacks, while Yongxingfang also serves Han cuisine. In addition, there are several popular food streets and their location for your reference.
And of course, luxury restaurants offers amazing roast duck for gourmets!

Awesome trip through Xi'an Muslim Street
Enjoy unlimited great choices of tasty food at Xi'an Muslim Street. It is actually also called as Muslim Quarters.
Tips to travel here:
1. Try the Biang Biang Noodle. The testure is great and very flavourful. You can tell the staffs to adjust the spiciness level. One bowl of noodle costs about RMB20.
2. The queue at certain restaurants or stalls can be quite long. Be ready to wait up to 20min for some. But the wait will be worthwhile!
3. Don't just go to the main street. The smaller street food will be much cheaper actually.

Yishang Hotel (Xi'an Bell Tower Huimin Street)
The Yishang Hotel (Xi'an Bell Tower Huimin Street) is located in front of the West Gate of Xi'an, the starting point of the Silk Road. As the name suggests, it is very close to Huimin Street, within walking distance. The facilities are quite new. After strolling around Huimin Street, I walked back to the hotel. The grilled lamb skewers, my favorite, were delicious.
_TS***d7
Two hours to explore Huimin Street!
👍️Attraction Introduction: The well-known 'Huimin Street' is actually a heavily commercialized 'food street.' While there is indeed food, the prices are not cheap, and the offerings are quite homogeneous. You will find steamed buns every two steps, noodle shops every three steps, skewers, pastries, and various colored drinks 🥤. If you are here for the food, you might want to head to the nearby 'Sajinqiao' or 'Yongxingfang.' This place is more suitable for a casual stroll and a quick bite.
📅Travel Guide: 'Huimin Street' is located in the alley behind the Drum Tower. It is recommended to first visit the 'Gao Family Mansion' (admission fee required) within Huimin Street. It is one of the best-preserved Ming and Qing dynasty courtyards in Xi'an and was once the residence of Gao Yuesong, the second-place scholar in the Qing Dynasty. Gao Yuesong was appointed as the second-place scholar by the emperor in the tenth year of the Tongzhi reign and was granted the position of editor at the Hanlin Academy. Empress Dowager Cixi ordered the state to allocate funds for its renovation, allowing the Gao Family Mansion to be preserved to this day. Interested visitors can also experience the 'Shaanxi dialect shadow puppetry' and listen to 'Hua Yin Lao Qiang' in the theater at the back courtyard of the second-place scholar's house. Near the exit, there is 'Lao Mi's Steamed Bun' offering quality lamb for 38 yuan per serving. The service is minimal, and the staff are not very responsive. One bowl is enough for two people, with two buns to break by yourself. The taste is just okay! After filling your stomach, you can continue to stroll and eat.
💗Other Tips: There are many specialty shops, so be sure to bargain and compare prices. The crowd is the largest after 6 PM, so try to avoid that time.

Dreaming back to the Tang Dynasty
Xi'an, formerly known as "Chang'an".
With the rise of social media, Xi'an's rich historical culture and trendy ways to play have attracted more and more tourists.
Not only are there the Terracotta Warriors, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, and Shaanxi Museum to feel the marks of history.
There are also novel experiences like the "Unfallen Lady", Tang Paradise, Everlasting Regret, and Hanfu dress-up.
No matter what age group you are in, you can find elements you like in Xi'an.
【Three-day tour route recommendation】
DAY1
Xi'an Bell Tower ➡ Xi'an Drum Tower ➡ Xi'an City Wall ➡ Gao Family Courtyard ➡ Muslim Street.
tips
1. Bell Tower/Drum Tower
Xi'an's landmark buildings, tickets: both 30r.
It is recommended to only climb the Drum Tower, which has drum music and bell performances inside, and the scenery of the two is similar.
If you are not interested, you can take photos outside without buying tickets to go inside.
You can go to the platform of the nearby Kaiyuan Mall to watch the Bell Tower.
The Bell Tower and Drum Tower lit up at night are really different from the daytime, and the popular dress-up transition on the internet uses the night view of the Bell and Drum Towers as the background.
2. Xi'an City Wall
Tickets: 54r.
The largest and most well-preserved ancient city wall in China.
The city wall is very long, you can rent a bicycle to ride on it.
3. Gao Family Courtyard
Tickets: 15r.
Currently the most well-preserved Ming and Qing dynasty ancient building in Xi'an, with a history of 400 years.
There are intangible cultural heritage performances inside: shadow puppetry, string puppets, Huayin Laoqiang, etc. Pay attention to the performance times, performances have additional charges.
4. Muslim Street
A very popular specialty food street in Xi'an, but reviews are mixed.
Muslim Street is a collective name for many alleys, it is recommended not to eat on the main street of Muslim Street, you can walk inside.
DAY2
Shaanxi History Museum ➡ Big Wild Goose Pagoda ➡ Joy City ➡ Tang Paradise ➡ Tang Paradise Night City
tips
1. Shaanxi History Museum
Tickets are hard to get all year round, note that it is closed on Mondays.
I went to Xi'an during the off-season, and I couldn't get tickets after several days of trying.
I even stayed near the museum to adjust my itinerary conveniently.
In the end, I didn't make it.
2. Big Wild Goose Pagoda
You don't need to buy tickets to go inside, you can just take photos outside.
You can also go to the platform of the nearby Joy City for a better view and better photos.
3. Tang Paradise
Tickets: 120r.
There is a large water screen light show performance at night, you can also row a boat, the night view is very beautiful, and wearing Hanfu to tour the garden has a great atmosphere.
But many friends think the ticket price is high and not worth it, you can go directly to Tang Paradise Night City to play.
4. Tang Paradise Night City
You must go at night!
The performance times are fixed, if you want a good spot, you must queue up early.
For example, the Unfallen Lady performance and the fountain performance.
Highly recommend the fountain performance!
Tang Paradise Night City is very crowded at night, it is hard to get a taxi, and traffic jams are severe, you can walk to another location first before taking a taxi.
DAY3
Terracotta Warriors ➡ Huaqing Palace ➡ Lishan ➡ Watch Everlasting Regret performance
tips
1. Terracotta Warriors
Tickets: 120r.
Three parts to see, seven parts to listen, it is best to find a guide.
Or download a guide about the Terracotta Warriors on Bilibili in advance and listen with headphones.
There are a lot of people, sometimes you will be pushed by the crowd, and it is easy to have difficulty breathing when there are many people.
We went before Qingming, the flowers had just bloomed, everyone was taking photos under the trees outside, maybe because it was too tiring to stay inside.
2. Huaqing Palace
Tickets: 120r.
An ancient palace with a history of more than 2,000 years, Huaqing Palace is very large, the scenery is pleasant, suitable for a slow stroll.
3. Lishan
The most beautiful mountain road, the scenery along the way is good, and there are many cultural relics and historic sites on the mountain.
4. Everlasting Regret performance
Tickets for Everlasting Regret are hard to book, usually need to be booked five days in advance, it is recommended to watch the first performance, the second performance ends at 11 pm, which is a bit too late.
【Specialty food】
Biangbiang noodles, Paomo, Roujiamo, Ganmianpi, crispy beef pie, sour soup dumplings, Southeast Asian Zenggao, etc.
【Warm reminder】
1. There is no off-season for tourism in Xi'an, only that there are more people and it is hotter during the summer vacation.
2. If you want to rent ancient costumes, you must go to a regular store, otherwise, you will be scammed, it looks better after the lights are on at night.
You will find many foreign friends also wearing Hanfu, it really feels like traveling back to the Tang Dynasty at night.
3. Do sun protection well, prevent heatstroke in summer.
4. If you want to eat authentic Shaanxi cuisine in Xi'an, go to Sangen Electric Pole Shaanxi Restaurant, it is near the Bell and Drum Towers, I personally think it is okay.
5. Xi'an is close to Huashan, Huashan is worth visiting! Highly recommended!
Our itinerary on the first day was affected by rain, we didn't go to Gao Family Courtyard. We also didn't see the Bell and Drum Towers lit up.
We didn't get tickets to the Shaanxi History Museum on the second day.
It seems that Xi'an needs another visit!

Xi'an · Food Choices for the Indecisive
Xi'an Muslim Street is a famous food cultural district in Xi'an. Locals refer to this area as 'Fang Shang', while tourists commonly call it 'Muslim Street'. Located in the Beiyuanmen Street of Lianhu District, this area was originally an official district during the Qing Dynasty. In 1992, Beiyuanmen Street underwent renovation, replacing the asphalt road and brick-paved sidewalks with bluestone, and constructing two-story buildings in the Ming and Qing architectural styles on both sides. The following year, it was transformed into an ancient cultural tourism street. Since this area is a residential area for the Hui ethnic group, it was named accordingly.
As one of the representatives of Xi'an's charm, Xi'an Muslim Street is a collective name for several streets in the Muslim district, including Beiguangji Street, Beiyuanmen, Xiyangshi, Dapiyuan, Huajue Lane, and Sajinqiao.

Huajue Lane Mosque | A serene orchid in the bustling city life
The Huajue Lane Great Mosque, hidden deep within Huajue Lane in Xi'an, is not far from the busy streets, but finding it requires a bit of effort. Located in Huajue Lane, Beiyuanmen Hui Street, commonly known as the Great Mosque or East Great Mosque, it is the largest Islamic mosque in Xi'an. Huajue Lane was a settlement area for Hui ancestors, with the name implying enlightenment and realization. Its history dates back to the Tang Dynasty.
The Hui people are characterized by being widely dispersed with small concentrated communities. Their residential areas are centered around mosques, and Xi'an has a Muslim architectural complex consisting of seven mosques and thirteen blocks. In the early 7th century, Islam was introduced to China via the Silk Road.
Throughout the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, Islam spread widely in China, and mosques built in various dynasties have been preserved almost everywhere. The Huajue Lane Mosque is one of the famous Islamic mosques.
However, one does not see the typical sapphire blue domes and towers of Arab mosques here. Instead, traditional Chinese wooden pavilion-style architecture catches the eye, making it stand out with its unique style among Chinese mosques.
Upon entering, the details and decorations blend Islamic architectural art. Integrating traditional Chinese architecture and Islamic culture, it is one of the most distinctive, best-preserved, and typical Chinese-style mosques in our country, and it is also the only garden-style mosque in China. The Capital of Carbs | Xi'an's cuisine is more than just a bowl of noodles
Arriving in a city, the most original and genuine impression of the place often comes from its food. The hot, spicy, sour, sweet, and cold flavors that enter the mouth can always give people the most direct and vivid experience. The bustling Hui Min Street, selling the unchanged Zenggao, unchanged Yangrou Paomo, all belong to the taste of Xi'an.
Passing through the Drum Tower, you enter the Hui Muslim historical district.
There are about ten mosques of various sizes and ages in the district, and approximately twenty thousand Hui Muslims live by the mosques, maintaining their original religious traditions and living habits.
Here, it's not just because of the large number of food shops on both sides of the street, but also because of the deep cultural connotations of this street.
And the locals often linger in the unassuming small restaurants and barbecue stalls in Dapiyuan and Xiyang Market, precisely because of the authentic taste that can only be found here...
The road surface of Hui Min Street is paved with bluestone, and on both sides are buildings imitating the Ming and Qing dynasties. The restaurants, specialty shops, and silverware stores are all operated by Hui Muslims, with a strong Islamic character. The well-arranged shops, hanging wooden plaques under the eaves of the green-tiled houses, exude a strong and simple charm of Guanzhong. Like most cities' snack streets, it is bustling all year round, crowded with people, but even so, it does not scare away foodies from all over the country who come to taste the mainstream snack street's non-authentic Shaanxi flavors.
Hui Min Street is not long, but it carries the little yearning in the hearts of foodies, and it also precipitates the vicissitudes of history that have passed through here.
