Live | Jichang Garden in Wuxi
Where to go in Wuxi for the May Day holiday?
Recommend Jichang Garden (admission ticket required)
A villa-style classical garden at the foothills in the Jiangnan area, the only Ming Dynasty classical garden in Wuxi city, ranked alongside Zhanyuan, Liuyuan, and Zhuozhengyuan as one of the four famous gardens in Jiangnan.
It's the heavenly April on earth, Jichang Garden offers a view at every step, framing scenes as paintings, which is extremely beautiful~
During the Kangxi and Qianlong eras of the Qing Dynasty, the emperor toured Jiangnan multiple times, and each time he would visit Jichang Garden, leaving behind many poems and inscribed boards and couplets. Emperor Qianlong believed that 'Among all the famous sights in Jiangnan, only Hui Shan's Qin Garden is the most ancient~

The Jichang Garden in Wuxi, one of the four famous gardens in the south of the Yangtze River, actually hides Emperor Qianlong's dream of the south
Jichang Garden was originally built during the Ming Dynasty, with Mount Hui as its backdrop. It is an exquisite work among the gardens of literati in the south of the Yangtze River, and is known as one of the four great gardens along with the Humble Administrator's Garden, the Lingering Garden, and the Zhan Garden.
After Emperor Qianlong's southern tour, he was so enchanted that he later replicated Jichang Garden in the predecessor of the Summer Palace, the Qingyi Garden, creating the Garden of Harmonious Interests. This shows the extraordinary charm of Jichang Garden.

🌟Tips
1️⃣Jinhuiyi: The water management technique used in this pool is considered the crown of Chinese classical gardens. The water originates from Mount Hui, flows through Bayin Stream, and gathers in the pool. With Hebu Beach, Qixing Bridge, and gallery bridges dividing the water surface layer by layer, it is impossible to find the end of the water, integrating springs, waterfalls, streams, pools, gullies, and beaches all in one garden.
2️⃣Bayin Stream: Bayin Stream is a rockery on the west side of the garden, winding and secluded, with the sound of water flowing along the path in the middle of the rockery reflecting off different rock walls, creating diverse sounds like a melody. Above, there is lush tree shade, and below, there is the constant sound of mountain springs. The not-so-high rockery creates the impression of a canyon, reminiscent of the lingering veins of Mount Hui.
3️⃣Architecture: To the east of Jinhuiyi, there are structures such as Zhiyu Kan, Yupan, Hanbi Pavilion, and Xianyue Pavilion. They are small and appropriately sized, separated by water and facing the mountains, cleverly arranging the scenic spots and viewing points.

The three major gardens in the south of the Yangtze River
It is not an exaggeration to say that the Humble Administrator's Garden is the foremost among the gardens in the south of the Yangtze River. The garden offers a view at every step, which is admirable. Cameras, however, find it difficult to capture its exquisite essence.
Compared to the exquisite elegance of the Humble Administrator's Garden, the Lingering Garden has a more graceful and approachable style. The garden takes a cultural approach, with different programs performed at various times.
Located in Huishan Ancient Town of Wuxi, the Jichang Garden is most famous for its Jin Hui Yi Group Landscape. The garden's pond creates a scene with the distant half-tower, offering clear layers and a profound meaning.
It is recommended to spend about two hours visiting the above three gardens. If you have time, sitting and chatting in the gardens is also a wonderful experience!

Jichang Garden, a famous garden in the south of the Yangtze River
Among the gardens in the south of the Yangtze River, Jichang Garden is the most storied one. This is because Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty visited the south multiple times, and he always made sure to visit Jichang Garden, leaving behind many poems. Jichang Garden is a national key cultural relics protection unit, the only Ming Dynasty classical garden in Wuxi, and is known as one of the four famous gardens in the south of the Yangtze River, along with Zhan Garden, Liuyuan Garden, and Humble Administrator's Garden.

I swear I will come to Jichang Garden earlier next year!!!
There is a very niche garden at the foot of Huishan in Wuxi, Jichang Garden,
It is said that Kangxi and Qianlong visited it 14 times during the hundred years,
However, the beauty of Jichang Garden is not only in the beauty of the garden,
Every deep autumn season, the scenery of red maple and ginkgo here,
It is also beautiful and stunning.
Especially the more than 400-year-old trees that existed at the beginning of the garden,
Every autumn, the garden is full of strong autumn feelings, which makes people linger.
-
✅Zhiyu Jie
Located in the center of Jinhui Yi, protruding from the pool, surrounded by water on three sides, the square pavilion is winged. Not only is it the finishing touch of Jichang Garden, but the ancient trees and famous trees on the edge of the threshold are also the focus of the entire garden in autumn.
-
✅Xianyue Pavilion
A waterside pavilion on the south side of Jichang Garden, with two red leaf viewing trees, one is the chicken claw maple on the east side of the waterside pavilion, and the other is the 110-year-old Castanopsis tree on the rockery on the west side of the waterside pavilion.
-
✅Jiashu Hall
On the north side of Jichang Garden, it is a typical Ming Dynasty hard mountain-style architectural style. Here you can see a wide view and enjoy the autumn colors of the whole garden.

Good places to visit in Wuxi during the National Day | Huishan Ancient Town
The Huishan Ancient Town scenic area is formed by the merger of the original Xi Hui Park (Xi Hui Scenic Area) and Huishan Historical and Cultural Block.
Not only are there many cultural relics and beautiful landscapes, but there are also a lot of authentic Wuxi delicacies, and the key is that the cost performance is super high. Suitable for families of all ages to visit.
Don't miss Jichang Garden when you come to Huishan Ancient Town, it's really my favorite‼️
Jichang Garden is an ancient garden of the Ming Dynasty, initially built during the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty, and is as famous as Suzhou's Humble Administrator's Garden, Lingering Garden and Nanjing's Zhan Garden, known as the "Four Great Gardens of Jiangnan".
As a representative of Huishan garden culture, it is exquisite with its 'borrowed scenery, stacked stones, winding water, ancient trees, and natural layout'.
The pink walls and black tiles, small bridges and flowing water, and the simplicity and tranquility are also natural in the Jiangnan landscape.
Jichang Garden has five characteristics: exquisite water management, clever borrowed scenery, superb stacked stones, refined architecture, and exquisite stele corridor calligraphy.
Jichang Garden is really my favorite Jiangnan garden, all year round, never tired of visiting.
Now the potted autumn chrysanthemums in front of Jichang Garden have bloomed, rare varieties of chrysanthemums, lined up in pieces, colorful flowers either stand still or sway, can't help but want to stop and take pictures.
Autumn is here, the Autumn Huishan Chrysanthemum Festival as a traditional flower festival event in Huishan Ancient Town, has been successfully held for many years, and is a festival event that is well-known and deeply loved by tourists in Wuxi and even the Yangtze River Delta in autumn.
The 14th China Chrysanthemum Exhibition will be held in the Huishan Ancient Town Scenic Area in Wuxi. By the end of October, the National Chrysanthemum Exhibition, Huishan Ancient Town will have a charming scene of fragrant autumn and various forms!
In addition, Huishan Ancient Town also has the second spring in the world, Huishan Temple and many well-preserved ancient ancestral halls, and 108 ancient ancestral halls can't be visited in one day.
For those who haven't decided where to go for the National Day, why not go to Huishan Ancient Town~

National Day Travel | Endless Autumn in Huishan Ancient Town, Wuxi
💛 I love the autumn in Wuxi because there is an ancient town called Huishan. Those who are fascinated by ancient towns are usually fascinated by the past. The charm of Huishan Ancient Town is that it has a time machine that takes us back to the old times in an instant.
📍Scenic spot address: No. 18 Baoshan Street, Liangxi District, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province

🦌As I arrived in the ancient town, chrysanthemums from 34 cities also arrived in the ancient town one after another, each showing their own style. Huishan Ancient Town has a chrysanthemum exhibition every year, which has a history of 17 years. This year, the 14th China Chrysanthemum Exhibition will be held in Wuxi Huishan Ancient Town Scenic Area, which is the most influential event in the Chinese chrysanthemum industry.
🌿What's different this year is that for the first time, the chrysanthemum exhibition will feature 'night viewing of chrysanthemums', introducing Zigong Lantern Show, creating a series of auspicious beasts themed on Shanhai Jing. When tourists visit the garden, there are surprises everywhere.
There will also be a series of flower-related activities, such as chrysanthemum art flower arrangement, research and study fighting chrysanthemums, chrysanthemum handmade DIY activities.
What I look forward to more is tasting chrysanthemum tea, chrysanthemum wine, chrysanthemum pastries and other delicacies. I look forward to experiencing activities such as tea ceremony, matcha, Song-style tea, Zen tea, etc. by professional chrysanthemum tea artists.
There are also performances and light shows during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day. It's really appropriate to come to Huishan Ancient Town at this time.

Red maples are common, snow is rare. Red maple with snow! How many chances can one have in a lifetime
The best thing I did yesterday was to brave the heavy snow to go to Jichang Garden! If you happen to be going to Jichang Garden~
Don't forget to check out the last red maple of this year

🍁Travel date: 2023.12.19
The favorite spot in Wuxi is undoubtedly Jichang Garden. I visited once in spring and once in early winter, each time presenting different beauty.
Wuxi Huishan Ancient Town is free, but there is a large area of ancient gardens inside that charges fees. Last time I came, it was called Xihui Scenic Area, but this time it has become Huishan Ancient Town·Jichang Garden.
It's not quite accurate to just call it Jichang Garden, because the area included in the ticket is quite large.
🍁Jichang Garden
The only Ming Dynasty ancient garden in Wuxi, with a history of more than 500 years. Compared with Suzhou or Yangzhou gardens, Jichang Garden has an additional touch of simplicity and elegance.
The temperature inside the garden seems to be higher than outside, except for some white snow still remaining on the eaves, the moist green plants are still lush. The big red maple tree in the corner is being beautiful on its own, and there is even a tree by the lake that has just turned from green to red.
The reflection of the ancient tower, pavilion, and green mountains in the lake is very beautiful.
🍁The Second Best Spring in the World
It is also a relic of Xihui, there is a tea room halfway up the mountain, where you can taste the tea made with water from the second best spring in the world.
🍁Erquan Academy and Huishan Temple buildings are very beautiful, and there was a winter solstice ceremony that day, with fireworks swirling around.

Wuxi Huishan Ancient Town Scenic Area
The Huishan Ancient Town Scenic Area is under renovation, and the waterway is sealed. The autumn scenery of Xihe Park, Jichang Garden, and Huishan Temple is still good. The ginkgo in front of the temple gate is more than 700 years old and is indescribably beautiful, while the red leaves in Jichang Garden are like a cover, but the Chrysanthemum Festival (ended on November 26) was missed. The old houses in the ancient town can avoid the crowd. Wuxi Xihe Park-Jichang Garden is a good place to take some Republic of China style photos. The old window frame is just right to make a picture.

Jichang Garden
Jichang Garden brings us many childhood memories. Although I am a child from the countryside, I have relatives in the city, and my father is an eighth-level fitter in a military factory. My childhood life is relatively affluent, with multiple opportunities to enter the city throughout the year, and I always visit Xihui Park when I enter the city. At that time, not only Jichang Garden but also the zoo was in Xihui Park. The reserved program is of course to lie on the Ting Song Stone Bed to test whether the stone bed is spiritual. The stone bed is also known as the reclining stone, and it is rumored to adjust its length according to people's height.
Jichang Garden is one of the four famous gardens in the south of the Yangtze River. Originally named Qin Garden, it is the property of the Wuxi Qin Clan. The garden has a history of 500 years. From 1506 to 1521, it was created by Qin Jin, the Duke of Duanmin, and later transferred to his grandson Qin Liang. Qin Liang dug ponds and built mountains, further expanded, and renamed it 'Fenggu Mountain Villa'. Later, it was renamed Jichang Garden by Qin Yao, the 13th ancestor of Shunfeng, who returned from office in the 19th year of Wanli (1591) and took the meaning of the poem 'Answer to Xu Chuan' by the sage Wang Xizhi.
The poem of Wang Xizhi goes:
Take joy in benevolence, wisdom, and joy, and send pleasure to the shade of mountains and rivers.
The cold stream under the clear, the fallen pine and bamboo forest.
According to accurate historical records, the emperors of the Kang and Qian dynasties of the Manchu Qing Dynasty have been to Wuxi 6 times, but they have visited Jichang Garden 14 times and left many poem steles (see the group photo), which shows the love of the two emperors for Jichang Garden.
In the first half of 1952, the Qin family dedicated this garden to the country, and it was received and managed by the Wuxi Municipal People's Government. In January 1988, it was listed as a national cultural relic protection unit, and in January 1993, it was listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit.
The last four pictures are the Qianlong Emperor's poem in the Imperial Stele Pavilion.

Believe that the famous mountain monks occupy more.

Heavenly flowers and stream grass are naturally dancing.

Wuxi Sending Garden is a classical garden originally built in the Ming Dynasty. The original site of the garden was Huishan Temple. After more than 100 years, it has been repeatedly renovated and expanded. The scale is flourishing day by day, even the Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong. I have traveled this park many times. The success of
Jianchangyuan lies in its "natural mountains, exquisite water, condensed gardens, ancient trees, ingenious scenery". There are quite a lot of attractions and allusions in the park, but my favorite is the number of "eight-tones." There are really no eight tones. I didn't hear it. However, before I got close, the sound of the flowing water was already in my ear. The sound seemed to be extraordinarily larger than others, and it was exceptionally clear.
Zhang Chao said: "Spring listens to birds, summer listens to snoring, autumn listens to insects, winter listens to snow, white sings to the sound of chess, listens to the sounds of the moon, listens to the sound of the wind in the mountains, listens to the sounds of the water. Its not a sham of the ear. But I feel that in the deep gardens, listening to the sound of the water is also very good and elegant.

It is also known as Qin Garden. It is located in Hengshan Hengjie, adjacent to Xishan and Huishan Temple. It covers an area of 15 acres. The landscape is centered on the mountain pond. The pool accounts for one-third of the country, which is compared with other garden features. First, the old trees in the courtyard are towering, the bamboo shadows are wandering, the valley is dull, and the simplicity is quiet. While admiring the landscape of the garden, I have to admire the wisdom of the ancients. The water in the park and the external water system constitute a big cycle. The two springs from the foot of Huishan flow into the courtyard through two channels, and the other is the source of the octagonal cymbals. One day, the endless stream rushed into the lake; one side from the southeast corner of the pool in the pool spit water, through the dark pipe into the lake, the lake's exit in the south, and the water of Huishan Temple meets, although its water is The park does not circulate, but it forms a large circulation with the water system outside the park.
