Photographer’s Paradise (Jinshanling)
This part of the Great Wall is known as a photographer’s paradise. It is very quiet and the surrounding scenery is spectacular. Located in Hebei Provence, it is about 2.5 hours from Beijing and only partially restored. Jinshanling is one of the best preserved parts of the wall and is a great hike up. It is open from 8am to 5pm and wonderful all year round.
spring - for the blossoms
summer - for the greenery
autumn - for the leaves
winter - for the snow
It is about 10km long but only 5-6km are open to the public.
I would suggest getting a private driver who will wait for you as it may prove difficult to call a cab willing to take you all the way into Beijing. A private driver is cost-effective if you’re traveling as a group.

The Great Wall of China is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and for good reason! Our trip to the Jinshanling section of the wall was the most surreal experience of 2019. The wall is so historically significant and I could feel the history with every step! Consider adding the Great Wall of China to your 2020 travel goals 😁

The LOFT B&B nestled in the mountains offers a view of the Great Wall and the sunrise and sunset at Jinshanling, Anaya
An additional update➕1
Located in Jinshanling Phase II, the LOFT features a small courtyard with a two-story apartment, 110 square meters, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, accommodating up to four adults and two children.
Bedroom 1️⃣ has a 1.8-meter-wide bed plus tatami.
Bedroom 2️⃣ has a 1.8-meter-wide bed.
With a private courtyard, secluded space, facing the mountains, the scenery is superb, where you can watch the sunrise🌅. The interior is cool and tranquil, with elegant and generous furnishings. Children can play and rest on the tatami, while adults can enjoy tea leisurely in the living room.
In the evening, the mountains are quiet, and it's a unique pleasure to have a drink with a few good friends, engaging in refreshing conversations until late into the night.

Whilst this is far from Beijing I really do recommend it. The 3 hour journey is more than worth the patience. Been to Badaling and Mutanyui sections of the wall and would give them a 3 out of 10. This really is a completely different experience. Completely authentic, rugged and wild with breathtaking views. Remember to bring your own water as there wasn't anyone selling it whenI visited.

Crowds come and go, all bustling for the beauty of blossoms
Yesterday was the second day of the Qingming Festival mini-holiday, coinciding with the opening of the 12th Jinshanling Great Wall Apricot Flower Festival. In this vibrant season, when all things are flourishing, more than 20,000 tourists flocked to the Jinshanling Great Wall to partake in a springtime floral event. They came to see the hills blanketed with apricot blossoms, to witness the serpentine Great Wall, to gaze upon the ethereal fragrance of flowers mingling with the fairyland of the Wall, and to appreciate the full expression of Chinese aesthetics.
Standing atop the Great Wall, one can look out over the overlapping peaks and the winding walls, like a giant dragon traversing through the mists of history, narrating the vicissitudes of a thousand years.
You make us feel the profound depth and greatness of history, and also make us cherish the peace and tranquility of the present even more. Every visit here stirs my emotions, as if I become one with this ancient land.
The Jinshanling Great Wall is an eternal ode, and an immortal epic. It is not just a barrier, but a legend. It has witnessed the bloody battles of countless brave soldiers, as well as the indomitable spirit of the Chinese nation.
Touching these stone bricks, the pulse of history throbs, and my soul is shaken. Walking on the Great Wall, each stone brick underfoot bears the heavy weight of history. They have withstood the test of wind, frost, rain, and snow, yet remain as solid as ever, telling of the wisdom and resilience of the ancients.

Jinshanling Great Wall | Apricot Blossom Festival | The quintessence of Chinese aesthetics in full display
Spring🍀 has an appointment, and the flowers🌸 are never missed. The 12th Jinshanling Great Wall Apricot Blossom Festival kicked off yesterday, with more than 20,000 tourists flocking to the Jinshanling Great Wall to join the spring flower date💃.
⏳This Apricot Blossom Festival will last until April 21st. During this period, there will also be exciting events such as the Ranger's Quest - The 3rd Great Wall Hiking Festival and the Jinshanling Great Wall Half Marathon. Participating in these events, you can feel the historical accumulation of the century-old Great Wall up close, experience the trends and fashion of Luanping, and appreciate the 'unique beauty of Jinshan' as the scenery changes with each step.
The sound of the zither under the Great Wall is lingering, playing out the splendor of today's flowers. Starting from Qi Jiguang Square, colorful dragons wind and spiral, lions dance and leap, and the ancient charm of the Great Wall and the classical aesthetics of the opera complement each other. Performances of intangible cultural heritage such as stilts, Er Gui wrestling, Ba Wang whip, and Shi Fan music take turns on stage, making the intangible cultural heritage under the Great Wall the latest popular check-in spot.
At the opening ceremony, a series of national style theme performances were staged in turns, with song and dance performances, Hanfu catwalks, and various activities being splendid, enjoying the beauty of spring and the feast of art and literature.
At sunrise over Jinshan, with the first glimpse of the rosy clouds, the apricot blossoms on the mountains are like a light mist, covering the mountaintops and enveloping layers of ethereal fairyland, interpreting the beauty of Chinese aesthetics to the fullest.
📝Practical Tips:
Don't miss the three major 'check-in' spots - 'Romantic C', 'Stunning C', and 'Extreme C':
✅ On the east side of the horse path by the Che Dao Gou Tower, enjoy the beautiful view of the apricot blossoms and the ancient Great Wall;
✅ Stand on the General Tower, look far to the east, and see the golden dawn spread all over, with the winding Great Wall being both majestic and spectacular;
✅ Climb up to the Flower Tower Stairway, and challenge one of the most precipitous landscapes of the Jinshanling Great Wall.

Watching the sunrise and sunset on the Great Wall, Jinshanling at the border of Chengde and Beijing, a guide to take you on a tour
Having been to Badaling (the least impressive), Juyongguan, Mutianyu, Huanghuacheng, Simatai, I had long heard that the Jinshanling Great Wall is very photogenic, and I was fortunate to visit. This is specifically for self-driving tours, so there is no introduction to public transportation, but there should be a tourist bus from Dongzhimen in Beijing on weekends, leaving early and returning late, you can check for specifics yourself.
I arrived at noon the day before, stayed on the Great Wall until sunset, and went up early the next morning, shooting until after sunrise and the sea of clouds. From the West Six-Eye Tower to the East Six-Eye Tower, I walked the entire distance except for not going further east from the corner tower, and I didn't take the cable car either.
First, let's talk about accommodation. There are many choices from high-end hotels to guesthouses at the foot of the Great Wall, so there's no need for a lengthy introduction, and booking is convenient. There are few young people at this section of the Great Wall, mostly middle-aged and older groups, and almost everyone has a DSLR or mirrorless camera.
Next, let's talk about transportation within the scenic area. If you're not driving, you need to take a scenic shuttle bus from the main gate to the small commercial street at the foot of the Great Wall, which is a bit like the commercial street at Mutianyu, not many shops, there is a supermarket, but the prices are not cheap.
Now, let's talk about where the highlights are and how to play. I didn't take a picture of the map, you can search for it on Baidu yourself. There are two ways to get on the Great Wall in the scenic area, one is to take a cable car (but the cable car has already stopped running for sunrise and sunset), and the other is to walk. From west to east, there are 6 walking routes, corresponding to near the West Six-Eye Tower (currently closed for maintenance), Qi Jiguang Square (gentle slope, low position, climbing on the Great Wall is required whether going to the west side Six-Eye Tower or walking east), Sifang Platform, somewhere west of the Little Golden Tower, somewhere east of the Gaojian Tower, and near the East Six-Eye Tower (I didn't go, too far). The cable car goes directly in front of the Little Golden Tower.
So how to get up depends on personal physical strength and preferences. On the first day, I went up in front of Qi Jiguang Square, first walked west to the West Six-Eye Tower, and I must say that this part really has a feel to it, with its beautiful ruins. The battlements on both sides have fallen off, leaving only the Youth Road, as if walking on the broad back of a carp, and you can see the wild Great Wall covered with grass after the turn at the West Six-Eye Tower, full of the atmosphere of the ages. Then I returned the same way and walked east to the corner tower. After passing the Gaojian Tower, the climb to the corner tower is the most thrilling, with uneven battlements on both sides and a slope of 60+++, not for the faint-hearted, acrophobic, or those with insufficient physical strength. But the view from the top is really strong, looking east you can see Simatai.
Then let's talk about the main sunrise and sunset. First, the sunset, I was on a platform below the Gaojian Tower, with a very good view, both the Little and Big Golden Towers as well as the West Four-Eye and Six-Eye Towers can be captured, with a strong sense of layering in the distant mountains, drones or mobile phone cameras at full force.
As for the sunrise, it is recommended to go up from the west side of the Little Golden Tower, you can start climbing at 5 am, and you will find that many elderly men and women have already taken their positions. There is a high slope in the middle from the Little Golden Tower to the Big Golden Tower, with a cliff jutting out, and the cliff is full of camera positions, I must say the middle-aged and elderly are really competitive, I didn't have the courage to go up there. Rather than watching the sunrise, it's actually more about watching the sea of clouds, especially if it rained the night before, you're in luck, from the hazy black to the full sun, the sea of clouds is stunningly beautiful. I also suggest going to the platform west of the Gaojian Tower (the same angle as the sunset, both facing west), again with drones and mobile phone cameras at full force, but be careful, drones are prone to losing signal.
Extra tip ☞ The entrance to the scenic area controls and does not allow drones to fly, but no one cares on the Great Wall, as long as you can bring it in, and indeed drones are very photogenic.

We Climbed the Great Wall!
Hold on to your hats! Our first full day in Beijing was a thrill ride of excitement that we'll never forget. But the cherry on top of our adventure was our visit to the Great Wall of China! And let me tell you, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We opted for Jinshanling instead of the more crowded tourist hotspots like Badaling or Mutianyu - and we are glad we did! After a two-hour van ride from our hotel, the Holiday Inn near the Temple of Heaven, we arrived at the entrance to the Great Wall. We decided to take a walk, but you could hop on a cart ride if you prefer. Once we got there, we secured our surprisingly affordable tickets. We brought our water and snacks, but the vendors were on hand if we needed anything else. The hike was long and breathtaking, with views that will stay with us forever. We felt like we were in a movie! Trust me, you won't want to miss out on this adventure! #springtrip #historicallandmarks #familytrip #trip #localguides #TerangsTheExplorer

The greatest wall of all! Jinshanling section
It was just magical having the Great Wall of China all to ourselves. The Jinshanling section was definitely a good choice when deciding which section of the wall to visit, away from the crowded city, well preserved and the word beautiful does not do ot justice. Just under 3 hours drive from Beijing, in Chengde city, Hebei. An easy drive to do yourself or any travel agent can help you arrange a vehicle. You can then hike on the wall, reasonablee fitness needed as you will find steep hills and many steps. can hike from slittle as 15 minutes to 4 hours with a few options directing you back down to the carpark along the way. Majestic views of the great wall following the spine of the mountains will make you stop just to take it all in and savour the moment. Entrance to the park is 60RMB. Plenty of hotels and restaurants the nearby town. If you are considering visiting the great wall, this is well worth he trip.

Jinshanling Great Wall is a 2,5 hours or 130 km ride northeast of central Beijing. It is one of the best-preserved and most beautiful parts of the Great Wall with many original features.
What I really like is that this section is half restored and half-wild, so it's easy to reach but not too crowded.

The wonders of mountains and mountains: hammer peak, Shuangta Mountain, Jinshanling
[]
hammer peak was formed about 3 million years ago. The Hamamatsu Peak and the Pule Temple constitute the secret sect of Tibetan Buddhism.
The height of the stone pillar is 59.42 meters. It is thick and thin, and is shaped like a rod for laundry. Therefore, Emperor Kangxi gave the name "", commonly known as "the great mountain." One of the top ten famous mountains in Chengde, the ancient name is Shi Ting.
[Shuangta Mountain]
Shuangta Mountain is one of the famous mountains of Chengde. Flowing, the trees in the mountains are green, the original stone horses, stone benches, stone caves and other scenic spots. The mountains are beautiful and strange, and the stone is now a tourist attraction. Shuangtashan Mountain, Qiqi, Linqi, Shiqi, Taqi, Dongqi, the magical nature of nature has become a strange natural landscape

The Jinshanling Great Wall is the most beautiful section of the Great Wall of China. The photographers around have not known how many times they have been to the spring, summer, autumn and winter of Jinshanling. For the countless beacon towers and the layers of the Great Wall, they waited for the arrival of the fiery sun. The wind and snow photographed like the killing of ancient wars. But the ancient Jinshanling is a subject that can never be finished. Jinshanling is the most beautiful part of the Great Wall. It is the pinnacle of the Great Wall, and is known as the Great Wall, Jinshan Duxiu.

In December, the Great Wall of Chengde Jinshanling was already wrapped in silver, "whistling", and it was not particularly strong! When I first arrived at the Jinshanling Great Wall Scenic Area, I was attracted by the spectacular scenery of the Great Wall in Jinshanling. I was sighing and sighing with joy, and I was full of joy and sighs, especially after the heavy snowfall. The Great Wall is like a silvery Tongtian Avenue that stretches to the horizon
all the way to the Great Wall. The endless stretch of the city road seems to tell the distant story of the vicissitudes of the Jinge Iron Horse...
The Great Wall is like a dragon flying in the mountains I am deeply impressed by the labor wisdom of the ancients, and I am proud of the high prestige of the long-standing and splendid cultural heritage of the motherland in the world. Being able to enjoy this great masterpiece is the life I yearn for!

Beijing is best known for the Badaling Great Wall, but the most magnificent Great Wall is the Jinshanling Great Wall. The Jinshanling Great Wall is far from the Beijing urban area. It is on the Yanshan branch of the junction of Luanping County and Beijing Miyun County in Chengde City, Hebei Province. It is connected to the Simatai Great Wall in the east and the Gubeikou Great Wall in the west. It is located in the four provinces of Beijing, Tianjin, Liao and Meng. The city meets, but the preservation is very good. It is the Ming Great Wall with the most dense enemy buildings and the most complete military defense system.
Jinshanling Great Wall was built in the Hongwu Period of Ming Taizu. It was presided over by the famous Xu Da, and later the general manager of the town, Qi Jiguang and the governor of Luliao, Tan Lun, continued to build. Because the Jinshanling Great Wall is far from the Beijing urban area, it can avoid the brigade of the tour group. It will not climb the Great Wall and look down. All the people can't even see the floor tiles... The surrounding area is covered with greenery and trees. It is magnificent and magnificent, and it is very good for taking pictures. It is also very close to the dam from here, and you can walk in one line.

The Great Wall is a famous military facility in ancient China, and today it has become a well-known tourist attraction. The Great Wall is divided into many sections. The famous scenic spots include Badaling, Juyongguan, Shanhaiguan, etc., which are relatively mature spots. Some are still being developed, the reputation is not that big, and the scenery is more beautiful.
The Jinshanling Great Wall, located in Fuping County, Chengde, Hebei Province, is the best preserved section of the Great Wall. The Jinshanling Great Wall is about 130 kilometers away from Beijing. It is adjacent to Beijing Miyun and is also a destination for many Beijingers to travel. It is known as the Great Wall, Jinshan Duxiu. The

River2014.
It is no exaggeration to describe the sky in April as a mischievous little girl. In the past few days, the sun was shining brightly and the sky was clear, and when it was not enough, it ushered in a snow that could not be prevented! Some people say that the sky in April fell in love with the land of the twelfth lunar month. When the tears of his thoughts shed into the river, the genius will have a snow-like snow. After the snow, the earth is covered with silver, and the Great Wall of Jinshanling is dressed up in white snow, and it is a scenery of the North. In the fog, the Great Wall is like a white dragon, magnificent and majestic. The mountains inside and outside the Great Wall are also covered with various shapes of trees hanging, beautiful and clean, crystal clear and unique. In the spring of the spring, I walked into the Great Wall of Jinshanling and accidentally discovered the surprise that Shang gave me. It was the majestic Great Wall. It was covered by the snow and stood between the Great Wall. I couldnt help but think of the eternal singer Snow Northern scenery, thousands of miles of ice, thousands of miles of snow drifting. Look inside and outside the Great Wall, but Yu Yu...! The Jinshanling Great Wall is a section of the Great Wall that was built by the late Ming Dynasty anti-tiger named Qi Jiguang. It is the most beautiful and magnificent part of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall. Moreover, the Jinshanling Great Wall has not been rebuilt, and it still maintains its original appearance compared with the Great Wall in other parts of Beijing. It has a simple and pure feeling. There are not many tourists here, and it is quiet and comfortable when you are playing. It is an excellent choice for visiting the Great Wall in the suburbs of Beijing. Known as the "paradise for photographers".
