Lujia Dawu is located in the lobby of the old town of Macau. It is now a world cultural heritage. Its owner was originally a businessman named Lu Huashao, and the nickname Lu Jiu. This mansion was built around 1889, which is Qing Guangxu. In 15 years, it has been more than 100 years old.
Lujia Dawu is a typical Lingnan mansion, with a total of more, with the main hall, the front hall, the back hall, the porch and the patio, a bit like the West Gate of Guangzhou. The
Lujia big house is a brick structure, the screen is a wooden structure, and the hollow carvings in the details are particularly delicate, and its pattern attracts people to appreciate. The furniture in the house is made of precious wood. From this, we can find many imprints of the era of the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. It is like being in the film and television works of a certain Republic of China. In the main direction of the wooden furniture in the hall, there are some seasonal flowers, such as orchids, which add vitality to the mansion. The furniture and screen of the
mansion is a traditional Chinese style, and the threshold is a combination of Chinese and Western. This is reflected in the curved structure of the threshold and the engraving on the top. The former is a typical European style, the latter is a traditional Chinese style. Each sculpture has a special meaning.
The glass on the window is also European style, which is mainly influenced by Portugal.
In the Lujia Dawu, the Chinese-style brick carving, gray plastic, hanging, and clamshell windows are now hard to see in the new domestic buildings, but the old buildings during the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China are more common. It is a pity that there are not many old buildings left behind. For Chinese tourists, fake ceilings, Manchuria windows, and cast iron railings in the mansion seem even more novel.

Macau | Lou Kau Mansion.
💟 Lou Kau Mansion, located at No. 7 Travessa da Sé in Macau, was the residence of Lu Hua Shao (Lu Jiu), a businessman in early 20th century Macau. Its private garden, Lou Lim Ieoc Garden, is one of Macau's scenic spots and is now part of the Historic Centre of Macau. It is currently managed and restored by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, and parts of it are open to the public.
💟 The Lou Kau Mansion is two stories high, built with thick green bricks, and its layout is modeled after the traditional residences in the Xiguan area of Guangzhou. The mansion is divided into three sections with three bays, consisting of an entrance hall, a tea hall (sedan chair hall), and a main hall, separated by screens. The house is arranged with multiple patios to facilitate ventilation and lighting.
💟 The interior integrates Chinese and Western decorative materials and techniques, featuring commonly seen brick carvings, plaster moldings, transverse boards, hanging decorations, and oyster shell windows from the Guangdong region, as well as Western-style false ceilings, Manchurian windows, and cast iron railings. The blend of these two distinctive decorative styles makes it particularly interesting.
💟 The facade's windows are all Portuguese-style louvers, with the two on the upper left and right being the most exquisite. The window frames are metal-edged, and the louvers are topped with semicircular stained glass windows, which are decorated with plaster moldings. The mansion reflects the unique characteristics of Macanese residential buildings, which combine Chinese and Western architectural styles.

The Chinese-style mansion in the Portuguese district - Lou's Mansion in Macau
The area surrounded by the Macau Legislative Assembly Square, the Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady, and the Ruins of St. Paul is traditionally where the Portuguese in Macau live, which is the so-called Portuguese district. Traditional Portuguese architecture is densely packed, resembling Europe, but in this European style, there is a majestic Chinese-style mansion standing strong, indicating the Chinese attributes here, this is Lou's Mansion.
Lou's Mansion was built in 1889, has a history of over a hundred years, is the pinnacle of Lingnan residential houses, and is also a classic work of the fusion of Chinese and Western cultures.
The most distinctive feature of the mansion is its beautiful windows, with colorful glass inlaid into paintings, reinforced with iron window flowers, embedded in the blue brick stone wall, very beautiful, each window is worth savoring.
The wood carving craftsmanship in the house is also unique, whether it is door frames, window frames, ceilings, or furniture, ornaments, all are fine works of traditional wood carving craftsmanship, the entire mansion is a wood carving museum.
Interestingly, the halls of the mansion are separated by wooden doors, and the doors are all detachable, which means that the entire mansion can be connected as a whole, a complete and huge hall, this is indeed a unique and clever construction.
In general, the artistic value of Lou's Mansion is incomparable, not to be missed, and worth spending at least an hour to slowly savor.
