Mae Kampong Village, a small village but full of charm, is nestled in nature with good air throughout the year. Every visit to this place is impressive. If we stroll along the main road of the village, we will see houses, shops of the villagers, and various homestays that are wooden buildings on both sides of the road. There is also a natural stream flowing from the mountains through the village. The sound of flowing water and the cool air make it very relaxing. The atmosphere around the village is very warm.

#newyearadventure Mae Kampong Village is one of the famous village in Chiangmai province, Thailand. It takes around 1.15 hrs of 60 kms. from Chiangmai city. We can go for day trip but night trip should be better. We can feel the waterfall flow in the middle of the village and we hired a local guide to walk in the forest to the waterfall (~2 hrs / 300 Baht). In the evening we asked for the massage course from the village. Dinner and breakfast is included. I stayed in Chiang Mai 5 days, it was a great time to visited there. First place, I stayed at North star valley where is so beautiful place and all staff are friendly and good services.Next day, I moved to Mae kampong,it was small village and there were many visitors there. It’s called Mae Kampong, located 50 kilometers from the city center of Chiang Mai. This old city started to build 100 years ago when Locals tried to plant tea in this area. You can go by motorbike or take tour in the city center. It takes one hour to get to this Village. You will go to mountains area with nice road and beautiful forests and village. But if you go there with motorbike, make sure your motorbike is in good condition specially the brakes because the way is up and down hills. In this village, there are many places you can visit. There is temple called Wat Khantha Phueksa Temple. There many cafes you can get lunch and coffee. Some waterfalls also something great to visit. Ban Mae Kampong, Chiang Mai

Ban Mae Kampong is a popular tourist destination in Chiang Mai. This small village promotes eco-tourism and is nestled among mountains and nature at an elevation of approximately 1,300 meters above sea level. The village is over 100 years old, with most residents having migrated from Doi Saket District. The houses are built along rivers and streams amidst lush nature, and the villagers lead a simple lifestyle. The weather is cool and pleasant year-round, with particularly cold temperatures during the winter season. The main occupation of the villagers is producing miang (fermented tea), with coffee cultivation as a secondary occupation. Visitors can either take a day trip or stay overnight at one of the more than 20 homestays available in the village. However, there are no hotels or resorts here. Note: Previously, there were accommodations in the Royal Project at Teen Tok before reaching Ban Mae Kampong, but as of August 2018, these accommodations have been closed.

The atmosphere is great. The strawberries with chocolate sauce and melons are so delicious that I had to eat them 4-5 times each. I spent a lot of money on food. The atmosphere is also nice, cool, and comfortable. The people are lovely, and the food is delicious. The beef Khao Soi is very tasty. There are many photo spots. You can be with nature, hear the sound of waterfalls, and feel at ease. I've been there many times, but I never get bored. If you have a chance to visit Chiang Mai, you must go to Mae Kampong every time.

It is a small village located on the mountain. The villagers' houses are along the river and stream. The weather is cool all year round and very cold in winter. There are not many accommodations to choose from. Most of them are in the form of homestays. There are many delicious restaurants to choose from. There are cute coffee shops for taking pictures. There are also souvenir shops to buy and take home. If we walk up or take a songthaew up a little bit, we will find Mae Kampong Waterfall. The water is quite cool. We self-drove about 1 hour to Mae Kam Pong Village, approximately 52km away from Chiangmai town. It was drizzling when we were there but it did not stop our exploration. This place is so beautiful with all the hills and valleys, feel so close to nature as it's surrounded by tall trees and waterfalls. It's a pretty laid back trip here, as we walked slowly to the hilltop and hop into cafes & restaurants along our way. There are small shops selling food and groceries at certain points. The sight from this cafe called Baan Ing Dao Coffee is really mesmerizing. You can see the whole Mae Kam Pong Village from the second floor of the cafe! To get to Mae Kampong, we had to hop on the back of a smaller vehicle that took us along a small road between forests and mountains. Soon, we reached the small village of just over 130 houses and 370 inhabitants, which has become a model for community tourism in Thailand. There are no big hotel chains here, but several homestays and pretty cafes have sprouted - we chose to enjoy coffee at one cafe with a lovely view of the village 😍
