Laoshan, Qingdao | The most beautiful coastal road | Stay by the sea.
| The most beautiful coastal road | Stay by the sea. 🛣 I really love the beautiful coastal road in Laoshan! 🛣
⛰︎ Half is mountain, half is sea! It's really beautiful! 🌊
🏠 I found a hidden gem of a homestay on the coastal road during the summer vacation! 🏖
🧜♀ A daughter of the sea, who knows what it's like to wake up in the sea! 👧
🌊 Anyone who comes to Laoshan! I will be sad if you don't stay at this homestay! 😢
🩵 The homestay is located next to the Laoshan Scenic Area, on the coastal road, with mountains behind and the sea in front. When the tide is low, you can go to the beach to catch seafood. It's very close to the Laoshan Scenic Area/Qingshan Fishing Village!
🩵 Sea breeze in the dream:
The room is full of smart home appliances, very high-tech, and the budget is burning! The room has a large floor-to-ceiling window, and you can watch the sunrise from the bed. Who knows the joy of a 360° sea view!
🩵 Food by the sea:
The homestay is super special 🪼 The special jellyfish feast is simply a hit to my taste buds. I heard that the chef is a master with 15 years of experience. The taste is so authentic! Beautiful scenery, wine and food! Who knows this kind of happiness!
🩵 Tour route:
North Qingdao → May Fourth Square → Qingdao Beer Factory → Qingshan Fishing Village → Laoshan → Taiqing Cableway → Laoshan Yangkou Tourist Area → Laoshan Taiqing Palace → Shilaoren
🩵 The sunny Laoshan interprets the shock of half a mountain and half a sea. I really like the coastal road in Laoshan. Anyone who comes to Qingdao and doesn't come to Laoshan, I will be sad~!

The May Fourth Square also called Wu Si Square is a famous landmark in Qingdao. It’s a memorial for the movement in 1919.
May 4th square is extremely beautiful, from one side you can admire tall buildings, from another side look at the Yellow Sea. You can also take a boat and enjoy the trip round the bay. It’ll be more remarkable.

A day out at May Fourth!
May Fourth Square, Donghaixi Road, Shinan.
On a cloudy day with not much idea of what to do, we took a stroll through May Fourth Square.
The May Fourth square monument is a landmark in Qingdao, so niceto go see if you are visiting.
It was great to walk along the ocean and get some fresh air. There were a lot of locals around, flying kites and taking pictures.
It was a lovely view of the city, even with the fog. Definitely reccomended for a day out. There are a few nice restaurants, barbecue and cafes and the end of the pier to enjoy a bite or a coffee.
Unfortunately we went during the day, so we didnt get the chance to see the city light up.
Rating - 3 star

May 4th Square in Qingdao
The central part of the city and one of the main touristic destinations for lots of people. To get to this place is quite easy, by subway, May Fourth station. It’s a beautiful square, by the sea, with picturesque sea view. It is surrounded by skyscrapers. This place is especially beautiful in the evening. You can see a light show here. And all the tall business centers are in lights. May 4th square is a very popular photo location. Everyone who visited Qingdao has a photo with that red sculpture 😉.
It’s a good point to start exploring the city from here. After the square you can walk all along the bind and enjoy other sightseeings.

Beach No 3
Maybe not that great for swimming but Qingdao beach No 3 is a good place to have a cup and of coffee and enjoy the view. Located the closest to Mixc mall and May Fourth square it’s a perfect place to be if you have little time.

May Fourth Square
May 4th Square is very beautiful.
At the seaside, so you can take a boat ride.
Photographers around so you can take and print a photo for as low as 20 yuan.
Shops nearby that sell snacks, but you can walk over to Mix-C to enjoy a bigger meal at the various restaurants.
Great place to take awesome photos.

Night stroll at the May 4th square
Getting There - Probably should take a taxi or didi. The subway is pretty convenient too. There is traffic at certain hours especially in the evenings.
Attractions - Boats , Ships ,light shows in the evening
Hotels - There are so many hotels around . I stayed at the Crystal Orange Hotel .You can see the May 4th square from the hotel .
Food & Restaurants - there are many restaurants at the square as well as stalls for snacks and souvenirs.
Beers are a popular choice .
You might come across a karaoke on the street. It makes for a nice night stroll or a chance to have a sort of night cruise on a yatch at an affordable price. The light shows are also amazing .

May 4th Square is a must in Qingdao
Getting There - You can easily find the destination on Didi or you can take the metro to May 4th Square station
As you may know, May 4th Square is one of the main attractions in Qingdao. Fortunately, there is no admission ticket or anything like that to have access to the area.
The location is also quite convenient and it's very close to the MixC, a decent shopping mall.

May 4th Square, Qingdao
Travelled with friends via metro and walked a few mins to the location. The monument was very clear from afar and the surrounding was beautiful and clean. The heat was not felt by the refreshing presence of ocean breeze. The rose beds were filled with different varieties of beautiful roses which makes the walkway glow and more attractive😍.

May 4th Square, Qingdao!
Getting There - it is very easy to reach May 4th Square, preferably either by way of the metro or by getting a didi (taxi).
Attractions - the best attractions in the area are the May 4th monument, music Square, the sculpture garden and the polar ocean world.
Hotels - excellent hotels can be found around almost every corner so you can choose closest to which attractions you want to be located. Hotels are affordable, but naturally you will find a a few more expensive 5 star ones around.
Food & Restaurants - try some of the local restaurants if you want the best value for money, but if you prefer western food, many westerns restaurants can be found close by in MixC mall.
Shopping - for an amazing shopping experience you can go to MixC mall that has a shop for you every person and every interest... Oh and ofcourse there is the indoor ice skating rink right in the middle of the mall.

Qingdao, a charming city with a maritime charm.
For those planning to visit Qingdao in August or September, here are some tips to avoid!
🚎Transportation:
1. Self-driving is not recommended. Qingdao Station or Qingdao North Station is the best place to arrive.
2. It is recommended to walk between attractions or combine buses and taxis. Subway: Qingdao Subway App
Bus: Alipay software to obtain Qingdao bus electronic cardAccommodation recommendations
Old Town: Near Qingdao Station, convenient transportation, close to various attractions
May Fourth Square, Olympic Sailing Center Square: Many shopping malls nearby, and Line 2 of the subway passes through, making it convenient to get around. XX Minefield Guide
If you want to get to the attractions quickly, Qingdao Station and Qingdao North Station are the best options. It only takes half an hour to get to Taidong by subway.
It is recommended to book hotels in advance. Hotel prices fluctuate significantly during peak season. Choose and compare multiple options.
The栈桥 (Pier), Signal Hill Park, University Road, and Qingdao German Governor's Residence Museum are not far apart, so you can arrange them on the same day.
Wear flat shoes for comfort when traveling. After all, there are many slopes to climb.
Transportation in Qingdao city: There are no shared bicycles or electric scooters here. The subway and buses are convenient, but taxis can be congested.
Refuse the sale of sea tours by the old men on the beach. There is a risk of temporary price increases.
There are usually a lot of people in the劈柴院 (Splitting Wood Courtyard). Food is not recommended, and you can skip it if you don't want to go.
📍Precautions: Qingdao Travel Minefield Guide
【Recommendation 1】Buy train tickets to "Qingdao Station" instead of Qingdao North. Qingdao Station is close to everything. It is a 10-minute walk from the栈桥 (Pier). Transportation, accommodation, and food are convenient.
【Recommendation 2】If you want to take a speedboat or yacht on the beach, agree on the price in advance, whether it includes round-trip or one-way.
【Recommendation 3】For sea entertainment projects such as diving and boat tours, be sure to choose a company with a valid business license and a qualified coach.
【Recommendation 4】When visiting Qingdao, be sure to visit the Old Town to experience the charm of Qingdao.
【Recommendation 5】Be sure to go to Signal Hill early, as you will not be able to go up the mountain after 4 pm.
【Recommendation 6】Traveling during peak season, it is highly recommended to book tickets for popular attractions in advance. It is easy to miss out on tickets if you buy them on the day of the holiday.
【Recommendation 7】If you are going to Qingdao during the summer and plan to go swimming, be sure to bring a swimsuit, swimming goggles, and earplugs. You should also bring a change of clothes, a sun umbrella, a sun hat, sunglasses, and beach slippers.
【Recommendation 8】Don't buy souvenirs at the scenic spots. You can find them much cheaper at local specialty stores or large local shopping malls.

7 kilometers from Qingdao Station, only 10 minutes by car~
Fully equipped like home!
The room is very tidy, with a refrigerator and microwave
The bathtub is also very large, soaking in it at night is really super enjoyable
Which girl doesn't like a full-length mirror?
There's also a super large projection screen, supports mobile phone screen casting, the cinema atmosphere is nailed👌
Super considerate service
As soon as I entered the hotel, they enthusiastically helped with the luggage, all the way to the room door
The front desk lady is super considerate, prepared disposable toilet and bathtub covers. Came out to play without a plan, and the lady even thoughtfully drew a map for me 🤗 Love it

Qingdao Must-Visit Spots ~ May Fourth Square and Olympic Sailing Center
May Fourth Square and the Olympic Sailing Center are right next to each other, so you can visit both in one go. This area is also the most bustling section of Qingdao's coastal boardwalk, which stretches for dozens of kilometers.
There are various sizes of yachts and sailboats available for tourists to rent. You can buy tickets per person or charter an entire boat for a trip out to sea. Almost every few dozen meters, there is a ticket window.
The most beautiful feature of May Fourth Square is the bright red torch sculpture, which is very tall and makes for stunning photos.
As you walk further, you'll see the railings along the shore decorated with red-billed gulls, which are very cute.

Qingdao May Fourth Square is a beautiful seaside park with fewer people
The scenery from the Olympic Sailing Center to May Fourth Square is very beautiful, and most tourists will come here to check in. During the peak tourist season in July and August, this place is crowded with people every day.
In fact, if you walk a little further, there is a beautiful music square with fewer people, lush green grass, facing the sea, and almost no tourists. There are statues of musicians such as Beethoven standing here, and under the blue sky, any casual shot is a masterpiece.

Light show in Qingdao
The light show is one of the activities you can do in Qingdao. It starts around 7:30 pm. As for me it looks great. You can make great photos for your social media. The roads are crowded , so better not use car, just simple walk is ok. Be ready that there are many people. But the atmosphere of the summer vacation worth it. #trip

Qingdao Travel Guide, it's amazing
If you plan to visit Qingdao 🐚 in July or August, you must take this guide!!
This is part of the recommended itinerary by local Qingdao residents, ensuring you have a great time!!
I will share my real experiences and also tell you which spots are pitfalls and which are worth recommending📝.
🚄Transportation:
• High-speed rail: It is recommended to get off at Qingdao Station.
• Airplane: Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport, turn right at the exit to find an elevator🛗 directly to the fourth floor, where you can take Metro Line 8 and transfer to Line 3.
• Reference route: Jiaodong Airport → Qingdao North Station|Transfer to Line 3|Head towards Qingdao Station to Wusi Square (about 1.5h), it only costs 7r to reach the city center, very convenient😆😆!!
🚕Travel: Taxis or subways in Qingdao are very convenient. If you are in a group, taking a taxi is more cost-effective, and drivers respond quickly. During the day when it's sunny and you are tired from walking, you can take a taxi directly, costing about 10r per trip on average.
🚇For taking the subway, you need to download the "Qingdao Metro" APP in advance to scan the code for riding⚠️.
🏨Accommodation: It is recommended to stay in Shinan District or Shibei District. Shinan District has more concentrated attractions, while Shibei District is quieter. Be sure to book your hotel in advance, and it is recommended to choose chain hotels. Hotels in the old town may be older, so pay attention to the opening time. Facilities in hotels opened in the past two years will be cleaner.
🌤️Weather: The temperature difference between morning and evening is large. It can be hot during the day when the sun is out, with strong UV rays, so pay attention to sun protection. It tends to be cooler from afternoon to evening, so remember to bring a jacket🧥.
🚩Itinerary:
Day1: City Sea View
• Badaguan Scenic Area: There are many European-style buildings, and the scenery is beautiful🎈.
• Second Bathing Beach: You can enjoy the sun and sand here🏖️.
• Lao Qingdao Chuozirou (Maidao Store): Taste local delicacies🥩.
• dotcom coffee: Have a cup of coffee and take a break☕.
• Sea Love Park: Enjoy the sea view and take photos📷.
• Maidao: A great place to watch the sunset🌅.
• Zhanshan/Taipingjiao Qingdao Third Bathing Beach: The night light show is beautiful✨.
• Taidong Night Market: Experience the local nightlife🍢.
Day2: Old Town Citywalk
• Zhanqiao: A landmark building in Qingdao🌉.
• Former German Police Station: Historical building with a lot of charm🏛️.
• Yinyu Alley: A literary alley, perfect for taking photos📸.
• Jiankangjia Restaurant: Taste Korean cuisine🍲.
• Catholic Church: Gothic architecture, very spectacular⛪.
• one cup: Have a drink and relax🍹.
• Internet-famous Wall: A popular spot for taking photos📷.
• Xiaoyushan: You can overlook the entire old town and coastline🏞️.
• Lu Xun Park: Beautiful scenery with a strong cultural atmosphere🎋.
• Qinyu Road: A coastal road, very romantic💗.
• Xiaoqingdao Park: Enjoy the beautiful sea view🌊.
• Shuangheyuan: Eat seafood dumplings🥟.
Day3:
• Qingdao Beer Museum: Learn about the history and brewing process of Qingdao beer🍺.
• Zhongshan Road Citywalk: Shopping and experiencing the atmosphere of the old town🎈.
• Wusi Square: One of Qingdao's landmarks, with a light show at night🎆.
• May Wind/Light Show: Very distinctive sculptures and light performances🎊.
• 1937 Qingdao Old Taste: Taste Qingdao cuisine🥘.
🩵Notes:
• If you play for 1-3 days, it is recommended to visit Shinan, Shibei District, and Laoshan District. If you have extra time, you can add a one-day trip to Huangdao District (which is relatively far).
• The scenery is beautiful, but don't plan too much in one day to avoid getting too tired. Those with good stamina are exceptions😜.
• For watching the sunrise, it is recommended to go to Shilaoren Bathing Beach, and for the sunset, it is better to watch it in Huangdao District, which is more beautiful🌅.
• The recent sunrise time is around 4:30. Check the sunrise time, and if you are staying in Shinan or Shibei, set off an hour in advance. If you are farther away, set off 2 hours in advance. It will be very congested near the seaside, so allow enough time to avoid missing the most beautiful scenery while stuck in the car!

Impressions of Qingdao, Seaside Diary
Without visiting Qingdao, how could one know its beauty! Once you arrive in Qingdao, all the beauty is in your eyes.
First is the pleasant climate. In mid-June, it's already high summer. Coming from the south of the Yangtze River, where the highest temperature has exceeded 30 degrees for several days, and I heard that in Beijing further north, the temperature has already surpassed 35 degrees, which is so hot that one would not want to go out. However, Qingdao's recent highest temperature is only around 25 degrees, and wearing short sleeves in the morning or evening feels cool. The warm temperate maritime climate makes Qingdao rarely suffer from extreme heat even in the hottest summer, thus becoming a famous summer retreat.
Blue sky and sea, red tiles and green trees are the most characteristic beauty of Qingdao. Qingdao has many distinctive scenic spots, such as viewing from Little Fish Hill and Signal Hill, checking in at the Love Tree on Wheat Island, watching the sunset at the First Bathing Beach, and enjoying the night view at the May Fourth Square, etc. Here, no matter where you go, you can either see the blue sky or the sea. If you stand on a high place like Signal Hill, you can see all the beautiful scenery of blue sky, sea, red tiles, and green trees. After enjoying the view, immersed in it, there is nothing to say but a sigh of admiration.
Of course, when you come to Qingdao, you can't miss the delicious food. As a coastal city, seafood is the first choice, which is tasty and affordable, and can be found everywhere, paired with a variety of Qingdao beer, which is indeed refreshing (in summer).
On a midsummer night, you must go to the famous May Fourth Square. It is named 'May Fourth' because this is the birthplace of the famous May Fourth Movement. A century apart, imperial powers Germany and Japan successively occupied this place. Looking at the fiery red theme sculpture 'The Wind of May' in the center of the square, it signifies the firm belief in never bowing down, defending sovereignty, the patriotic tone of anti-imperialism and anti-feudalism, and the exuberant national strength. Now, the square is peaceful, with some people fishing by the sea, some singing and dancing on the square, some swimming and exercising by the sea... and more are tourists like me, lingering in the beautiful seaside night. I think, this beautiful sea, the happy crowd, the gleaming buildings, all of this is a wonderful scroll of life, isn't this beautiful life scene exactly what the predecessors of the May Fourth Movement hoped for? Yes, all this beauty, as they wished!
Therefore, the beauty of Qingdao lies not only in its rich historical heritage but also in an inner spiritual strength. The beauty of the blue sky and sea, red tiles and green trees we see today all stem from the spirit of this city, a spirit as endless as the waves.

The location is good, right at May Fourth Square
Walking distance to the subway station, you can overlook the cityscape and see the sea. It's convenient to go to Zhan Bridge and Badaguan as it's east of May Fourth Square and north of Wanda Plaza. Staying in the center of Qingdao is really worth it!!
The room facilities are very complete, just like at home
It's my first time staying in such a spacious hotel in Qingdao
Floor-to-ceiling windows open to the sea, and you can see the light show and the sea. The details are very thoughtful, and there's even an emergency call button in the bathroom?!
Intelligent toilet with two sets of washbasins, no need to squeeze for washing up~
Full service with a smile
Got a free upgrade for the room type, it's even a bit big for two people. There's a gym, tennis court, garden, and the lobby is also very beautiful. Sisters who drive here don't need to worry, parking is available both above and below ground. There's a delivery robot, and the self-service breakfast has a variety of options.
Location: Hong Kong Road, Shinan District, Qingdao City!

Qingdao Itinerary Suitable for Slow Travelers (Three Days and Two Nights)
Qingdao Itinerary Suitable for Slow Travelers (Three Days and Two Nights)
Day1️⃣
📍The first stop is the Qingdao Beer Museum, which is quite interesting. Just buy a regular ticket; there's no need for a guided tour ticket. Once inside, you'll encounter guides explaining exhibits here and there, so you can listen in if you're interested. Note that the museum stops admitting visitors at 4:30 PM. The ticket includes two beers; I found the first one bitter, but the second one was tasty, with a hint of sparkling water. Don't miss the beer-flavored ice cream—it's delicious!
📍We had planned to go to the Sea Love Park to watch the sunset, but the weather wasn't great, so we just wandered around. We had dinner at Wenjun Barbecue nearby, which was super delicious with rich meat juices.
📍Due to the bad weather, we skipped Little Wheat Island (if the weather is good, you can go there to watch the sunset, also known as Little Jeju Island) and went straight back to the area around May Fourth Square for a stroll. You can walk along the seaside to the Olympic Park to see the city's night view from afar!
Day2️⃣
📍After sleeping in, we took a taxi directly to Zhongpin Laofangzi Potstickers (Daoyao Store), which are incredibly tasty. I found out that 'sweet foam' is actually salty.
📍The Olympic Sailing Center boat tour offers a view of Qingdao's cityscape from the sea, with the first trip costing only 9.9 yuan! The boat goes from the Olympic Sailing Center to the Underwater World, and the endpoint is not far from Xilingxia Road, a super photogenic spot, also known as Little Kamakura. Walk all the way to Zhan Bridge scenic area (arriving around 10:30 AM is best), which is also great for taking photos.
📍Stroll to the Qingdao Catholic Church and experience the charm of German architecture. The church ticket is not expensive, but it doesn't seem necessary to go inside; taking photos at the entrance is sufficient.
📍After the visit, we dined at Haiyan Private Kitchen, which must be reserved a day in advance. Every dish is delicious, especially the super fresh and sweet mantis shrimp.
📍With our bellies full, we walked to Signal Hill Park. The main entrance is crowded and requires queuing, plus there's a climb. You can navigate directly to the north gate, where there's no queue or climb, and reach the viewing platform to overlook Qingdao's iconic red-roofed buildings.
📍The last stop is Qinyu Road, a great place to watch the sunset, with a beautiful S-curve and many people taking photos on the rocks. We had planned to go to the popular Wilder Coffee to stare at the sea, but both shops were too crowded. Luckily, the coffee shop at the corner of Qinyu Road also has good flavors!
📍In the evening, we went to Taidong Night Market and bought Qiusu from Shisan Bukao (strongly recommend the matcha dark chocolate and durian cheese flavors), ate seafood dumplings from Shuangheyuan, and the flavorful eggplant was super delicious—even those who don't like eggplant would find it tasty!
Day3️⃣
📍We went to Xiliuzhuang Market early in the morning to catch the big market, which is huge and full of locals. Fresh and cheap seafood and fruits abound. Live mantis shrimp cost 45 yuan per jin, mixed male and female; clams are 5 yuan per jin, and oysters as big as the palm of your hand cost 5-7 yuan each. We packed them up and took them on the plane. If you have time, you can also buy seafood and have it cooked at a local beer house to eat on the spot. Additionally, this market is a one-stop shop for Qingdao specialties, such as squid strips and fish slices, available in bulk or small packages. There's also a counter for Xiwang preserved egg and sausage, which is cheaper and of better quality than in the stores. The scales at the shops we visited were accurate, with no cheating.

Qingdao May Fourth Square
Qingdao!! May Fourth Square!! 170 four-person, my bestie chose it
It's really nice to stay!
The location is a first-line sea view (open the window and there's the sea view), walking to the seaside and the transportation is also very convenient, suitable for a summer vacation with parents, children, and good sisters to stay together!!
The floor-to-ceiling windows offer such a beautiful sea view, much better than a hotel! Took so many photos, super photogenic! For this price, in a hotel, you would only get a room without windows and less space, and here you can see the sea
Two big beds, super comfortable~ Lying on the bed, you can see the sea sunrise and sunset just by opening and closing your eyes, so beautiful, so beautiful

The seagulls ate a whole bag of my fries.
They are so smart, slowing down and hovering in place to catch!
Walking from May Fourth Square to No.3 Bathing Beach, it's a leisurely stroll by the sea, passing by Haitian and even stopping by Tsutaya Bookstore (a unique seaside Tsutaya, the No.3 Bathing Beach is so comfortable on weekdays!
Watching the world is a vast Qingdao
