The photo spot that you can't miss is the area where "Kang Dong" is hung. In Karen language, it means spider webs, made from colorful yarn. You can buy Kang Dong as a souvenir from the market.

Inside the market, there are many restaurants, snacks, and beverages, whether savory or sweet, to meet all needs. There are also natural products, souvenirs, handicrafts, and local products. Anyone who is planning to visit Ratchaburi must not miss checking in at Oh Poy Market.

Oh Poi Market, a morning market along the Pachi River, Suan Phueng District, Ratchaburi Province
Oh Poi comes from the Karen language and means “rest”. The concept and operation of the market are owned and operated by the locals. It opens on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 6 am to 2 pm. At around 7 am, monks come to collect alms on rafts. Everything in the market is packaged using natural materials. Locals come to sell their products and children in the community help collect garbage. The products are cheap and very delicious.
A shop that we would like to recommend is Khao Lam Shop at Oh Poi Market.
- Khao Lam Khao Niew Dam. You can actually choose between black sticky rice or white sticky rice. The price is 20-35 baht per tube, depending on the size. Each tube costs 35 baht, buy 3 tubes for 100 baht. All packaging in the shop is natural. The shop will put it in a paper bag with a bamboo spoon and a flower on every tube. The sticky rice is a bit soggy, like sticky rice with coconut milk, and black beans are added. The sticky rice is not very sweet, it is creamy and has a strong coconut milk aroma, and the sticky rice and the burnt bamboo are fragrant. Especially the front of the sticky rice with juicy coconut milk. You can eat it all by yourself.

Best Green Local Market | Ratchaburi
A local market, run by Ethnic Karen. Not many foreign tourists but certainly a favourite among the Thai people. This market is an ideal place for a morning stroll. The food in the market is reasonably priced, ranging from 20 to 50 baht. Additionally, there is a religious activity for Buddhists to participate in called "sai baht" (making merit). The activity usually starts around 7:30 am.
Didn’t expect much but we were completely stunned how things were organized here. There is entrance fee, no parking fee. Food and drinks were cheap and all shops aimed to use as little to no plastic and be as eco-friendly as possible which I LOVED and truly admired. We been to many green local market, big ones including the famous Jing Jai Maket in Chiangmai but I must say this one is truly GREEN. There was almost zero plastic 💚 All packaging were natural, bamboo, banana leaves, etc.Almost all of the shops willingly wanted to take the garbage or food waste just to keep the whole market clean. Trash bins were clearly labled. Impressive to see how the comunity works together to bring out the best.
Never imagined that the market by local people in the community can create such a wonderful place in the natural atmosphere. Must to visit place of Rachaburi !
