[2025 Johor Bahru Stay] Travel Guide for Opero Hotel Southkey Johor Bahru (Updated Feb)

Love the modern amenities in this Opero Hotel. The colors of the furniture and accessories blends in nicely with the hotel theme. Am impressed with the breakfast spread. Delicious and the presentation was classy. The staff at breakfast was kind and attentive. The only downside was, made a booking for connecting rooms (had my kids with me) way in advance but this was not fulfilled by the Recep. Kept saying hotel is fully booked. Payment was made for a king (more expensive and twin so that it will be connected but yet she could do nothing about it. It was my birthday staycation. The least she could do is to provide service recovery immediately but nothing was offered. I even had to ask for a late checkout for 1pm but she only gave one room for the late checkout. Such a disappointment. Another point to note was, both toilets had bad sewage smell. Read this in the many reviews already, so the hotel should be doing something by now otherwise have a room fragrance placed in the toilet. If u shut the door, the smell would not spread to the sleeping area. A good point for those driving, it's free parking with good security. Indeed safe. Not mistaken there's a shuttle to midvalley mall.

The design of this hotel is quite grand and is in wood theme. Comfortable. The service are quite nice. The superior King Room, is above average, because personally think that the room size is standard, not too small but not consider big. Free Parking is complimentary to their guests. Nice place to have a coffee and watching football without crowds.. For me, I'm preferred this place than mamak restaurant. Where u can sit back and relax with your friends Smoking was allowed here... So no issue with certain regulation implement to restaurant that smoking was prohibited. Stayed at Opero Hotel and went to GSC cinema at mid valley southkey mall. Play+ hall is great for children.

Good location to mid valley shopping mall, hotel is new and the bed is comfortable to rest. Toilet is clean. The hotel staff friendly and able to provide good smile and good service to guests, they provide the free drinks during Check out too. The swimming pool can be improve Will recommend peoples to stay here people’s who need to do shopping or relax in mid valley shopping .

Short trip to Malaysia Johor, stay in Opero Hotel near to mid valley south key. Nice hotel walking distance to mid valley mall. Mall is huge with all branded stores and restaurants. Spent one whole day couldn’t complete browsing and shopping. You can get plenty of offer and nice food here. Went to premium outlet next day, went back with lot of shopping bags. Take note, bring along own shopping bags, else all bags are chargeable. Enjoy

booked this hotel near to midvalley southkey JB 2 days before my trip. The hotel looked grand from inside and outside. everything looks new and well-kept. The beds, pillows and air-con made my stay comfortable. Their sheltered multi-storey carpark is secure with security guard patrolling frequently which made us felt safe for our car.
