Phra Pathommachedi is a first-class royal temple located in Phra Pathom Chedi Subdistrict, Mueang Nakhon Pathom District, Nakhon Pathom Province. Its most notable feature is the Phra Pathom Chedi or Phra Thom Chedi, which is one of the tallest and largest pagodas in Thailand (120.45 meters). The current Phra Pathom Chedi is a Lanka-style pagoda in the Sukhothai design, built during the reign of King Mongkut, covering two older pagodas: a stupa in the Indian style from the era of Emperor Ashoka, and an ancient Khmer-style pagoda.
Besides the Phra Pathom Chedi, on the lower terrace to the south of the pagoda and in the ordination hall, there are the principal Buddha images, two of the four seated Buddha images with the posture of 'The Buddha Subduing Mara', which were created in the Dvaravati period.

🍽️ Restaurants and food
- Kuen Wan, Nakhon Pathom
We took the train on a day when the weather was not too hot, enjoying the green view and nature along the way.
In a short while, we arrived in Nakhon Pathom, so we walked from the train station to find something to eat.
We found Kuen Wan restaurant
A rad na restaurant with a retro vintage decoration.
This restaurant has both savory and sweet dishes and refreshing drinks.
After recharging, we walked to Wat Phra Ngam to pray for blessings.
Then we walked a little further to the free zoo to see the chubby deer that were ready to devour any fruit that humans offered.
This was the first time I knew that there was a small zoo like this in this area.
After feeding the deer,
we walked to Phra Pathom Chedi to pray for blessings.
In the surrounding area, there were shops and a walking street.
The walking street near the Khuen Wan shop
is a walking street that is fun to walk around, but everyone ended up buying something to eat on the train back. (Unfortunately, it was raining so we didn't get to take any pictures of the walking street.)
This is an easy way to travel to the province.
I recommend you try taking the train.

Phra Pathom Chedi (Phra Pathommachedi) | The world's tallest stupa
Phra Pathom Chedi is located in Nakhon Pathom, 80 kilometers west of Bangkok, Thailand.
The legend told by the teacher when Li Weijie's daughter visited Phra Pathom Chedi in "Sheep Without a Shepherd":
"After a king killed two important people to him, he regretted it.
A monk told him that to atone for his sins, he had to build a tall tower that a pigeon could not fly to the top.
Only then can he be redeemed."
So there is this tallest Phra Pathom Chedi and the constant voice of repentance.
Phra Pathom Chedi is called "Phra Pathom Jedi" in Thai, which means "the first stupa".
And "Phra Pathom" in Pali means "the first city".
This Phra Pathom Chedi is indeed the tallest stupa in the world today.
It is about 130 meters high and the diameter of the tower base is about 57 meters.
The foundation of the stupa contains the relics of the Buddha and the ashes of Rama VI.
There is also a museum in the courtyard, displaying various Buddhist artifacts.
This is the earliest place of Buddhism in Thailand.
The predecessor of the stupa was not so majestic.
In order to renovate the old stupa, Rama IV
Directly covered the original stupa and temple with the bell shape of the Sri Lankan stupa.
Become the shocking Wat Phra Pathom Chedi that everyone sees today.

Paying homage to Phra Pathom Chedi
The current Phra Pathom Chedi is a Sri Lankan-style stupa in the Sukhothai style, built during the reign of King Mongkut. It was constructed over two previous stupas: a Sanchi-style stupa from the Indian era of Emperor Ashoka and an ancient Khmer-style stupa.
In addition to Phra Pathom Chedi, in the lower terrace area to the south of the chedi and the ordination hall, there are the principal Buddha images, the white stone Buddha statues, which are two of the four seated Buddha images with legs hanging down, in the Dvaravati period's teaching posture.
Travel is convenient, accessible by both public transport and private car.
