Penang's Komtar is a treasure trove full of surprises!
Many people visit Penang may not be aware of this place, where you can enjoy the urban scenery and charming coastline of Penang. It's a must-visit spot when traveling to Penang! Here lies the Rainbow Skywalk, located at the tallest building in Penang, the Komtar Complex. The Komtar Complex itself has undergone several changes. It houses the largest shopping mall in Penang and was once a government office building. It was only after the complex added three more floors to the original 65, reaching 68 floors, and opened an outdoor observation deck with a glass floor at the top, known as the Rainbow Skywalk we see today, that it gradually came back into the public eye.
👉 Travel Tips: The Komtar Complex has 68 floors, and the sightseeing elevator can take you directly to the 65th floor, where there is an indoor observation deck with a section of glass flooring that allows you to see the ground below the 65 floors, which is quite thrilling. There are also outdoor activities like skywalking that challenge your adrenaline. From the 65th floor, you can take an elevator to the 68th floor, where there is an outdoor skywalk observation deck without walls, offering a more expansive view. Here, you can take in the whole of Penang at a glance. The all-glass flooring also gives a feeling of being closer to nature.
There is also a scenic restaurant on the 68th floor where you can enjoy afternoon tea or dinner. Choose a window seat for a scenic view, and enjoy delicious food while admiring the unbeatable view, which is extremely pleasant.
👉 Ticket Information: Adults 64 Malaysian Ringgit, Children (90cm - 12 years old) and seniors over 60 years old 45 Malaysian Ringgit
👉 Business Hours: 10:00 - 22:00
👉 Address: 1, Jalan Penang, George Town, Malaysia

Rainbow Skywalk, Penang 💋✨
A great experience for me and my family. I’ve always heard of this place but being there personally was breathtaking. The birds eye view of Georgetown and beyond was magnificent. But what amazed me the most is I'm able to see the city view from here. I feel like I'm so small down there, like it's a very nice moment seeing our surroundings from this view. It was an unforgettable moment to be here in Rainbow Skywalk, Penang. 👀
Recommend to buy tickets from online because the price is quite cheap. The hospitality provided by the staffs are great. There is also a cafe nearby you can buy drinks and snacks while enjoying the view. 🏙️
Definitely a must visit for everyone, and the staffs are very friendly. Special thanks to the staffs for their hospitality! 😊❤️

Tallest Skyscraper in Georgetown
#penang
The Rainbow Skywalk and Observatory Deck which is at the top of Komtar, the tallest building in Georgetown, was launched in 2016, after a major facelift. It is located at 1 Jalan Penang, 10000 Georgetown, and is open daily from 1100-2200. It is around a minute or two walk from Komtar Bus Terminal.
As soon as you stepped out of the lift on the 65th floor, you can pretty much see the entire Penang Island, including the bridge connecting to the mainland. It also features a glass walkway that lets you watch the world go by below.
At 68th level, you can see the world's luckiest seat, a fountain of gold, and a 360 degree view of the city. The open-air Rainbow skywalk offers the visitors the thrilling experience of walking on air 248 meters above sea level.
There are also restaurants and lounges at the 68 level that offers you great foods and drinks, while enjoying the view on top of the Georgetown.

SkyWalk of Penang
Amazing experience up on the rooftop of Komtar Tower (232meters high) and perching on a little nook is the Rainbow Skywalk.....access to the top is a 2 time change of elevators and the entry fee is Ringgit Malaysia 68 for adult. The observatory is best accessed just before sunset and stay on late into the night 10pm for many vistas and panarama of the Georgetown fast growing city of skyskrapers.
There is a well maintained dinning restaurant on the top giving diners an unforgetable aerial view of the city.
If not for the steep entry fee, I would have given the rating of 5 stars.
I have attached 2 photos I took 3 days ago , one a night aerial panorama of the city and the other the Rainbow Skywalk itself with a glass transparent bottom to give visitors weak knees.

Rainbow Skywalk @Penang
Rainbow Skywalk, the highest outdoor glass skywalk, is located on the top floor of Komtar Tower, the tallest building in Penang. It's part of The Top Penang Theme Park, the largest indoor theme park, including the aquarium, 7D theatre, and Jurassic Park.
I purchased the ticket through Trip.com, which is cheaper than at the ticket counter. Its an easy process, and you need to show your barcode to exchange the wristband to the level 5 ticket counter.
The first experience is reaching level 65, where the observatory deck is located, you can observe the Penang Island 360-degree view from inside the building, especially when the weather is not premitted to aboserve from the outdoor.
To reach Rainbow Skywalk, take another lift from level 65 to access level 68. There are indoor and outdoor restaurants and a photo booth if you like to take the picture by their in-house photographer.
You need to remove your shoes when walking into the sky bridge, and usually, the staff will let you know how long you can stay there for photography. Sunset hour is the peak hour, so there is expected to be a long queue to enter the sky bridge.
It's the best place to see Penang Island, the golden sunset, and experience the thrill. You must try it !!

Rainbow skywalk, 360 degree no dead end, Penang beauty
Rainbow skywalk rainbow sky glass path, Penang high altitude tour Xinpu point, it is recommended to call here on the first day of Penang, the highest is 68, can Take in the panoramic view of Penang.
When you come to the 65th floor, you will first enter a dark place to watch a piece of history about the top, and then suddenly open the projection tape in front of you, the window will reveal a condescending view, the impact is quite large. Before the 68-story glass sermon, you need to wear a shoe cover to reduce the chance of scratching the trail. Although it is only 17 meters long, it is enough to make a beautiful shape.
It is worth mentioning that the afternoon tea set is very cheap. You must know that there is no 500 ocean in Guangzhou afternoon, but you dont have it. The two people are not RM300.
small tips: for safety reasons, the glass walkway cannot use the selfie stick

Penang - a time machine to the past
Early in 2023, I took my mother to Penang by train from our hometown in the southern part of Thailand. The trip is not only to fulfill my mother’s childhood curiosity of the island but for us to spend a quality time together. She enjoyed the trip sooooo much. After sharing the memory of this trip on her social media, many of her friends follows and asked for recommendation, which made her very happy.
So, here we go! Some places I’d like to recommend in Penang
📍Rainbow Skywalk - best for sunset and panoramic view of Penang
📍The habitat
📍various spots of street art
#2024wish I wish to take my mother for a tour in Europe

The best Pulau Pinang view from level 68.
If you ever visit Pulau Pinang, The Rainbow Skywalk and Observatory Deck is definitely the first in you must-visit list. The view from level 68 of Komtar Tower will take your breath away. There is a photographer that will take photos of you at the Skybridge and it is definitely worth paying as the photos turn out so beautiful. There is a stall selling snacks and drinks and you can hang out while enjoying the Pulau Pinang view from the top. Plan the time for your visit if you want to catch the sunset. This place opens till 10pm. I would highly suggest this place to others as it is surely one of the best attraction in Pulau Pinang.
