[Hokkaido] You might even encounter bears! A park where you can enjoy the great outdoors of Shiretoko
"Shiretoko National Park" where you can enjoy the great nature of Shiretoko and the Shiretoko Five Lakes.
*The Shiretoko Five Lakes are a group of five lakes.
Admission to this beautiful park is free🆓
What makes this place different from other parks is that if you're lucky, you might even encounter bears or deer🐻🫎
And it's super safe because you can view it from the bridge!
If you want to experience some thrills, we recommend the "Ground Promenade"!
After a lecture, you can walk along the mountain path where the bears live🐻
There is a large loop (3km) and a small loop (1.6km), and it's super cheap at 250 yen for adults and 100 yen for children!
It's always exciting, but you'll pass by the lakes so you can enjoy the spectacular views!
I was sandwiched between two bears, but I was okay lol

Shiretoko National Park in winter
#thingstodo Between the months of December and February, you can set off on a tour of Shiretoko National Park to look for the most iconic winter creatures of the region. Through binoculars and telescopes, you can enjoy the majestic sight of the Steller's sea eagle or white-tailed eagle as they search for prey or dive into the sea. Some of these eagles measure an unforgettable one meter in length or two meters by wingspan. You may also encounter other creatures including the Ezo deer, Ezo red fox, and seals on the drift ice.
