This is a must visit place for anyone in Bangkok, and one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. I got a local friend to take me around and share me some Thai history and culture informations, I felt a deep connection to Thailand’s royal heritage, and I really enjoyed a lot. The Grand Palace is really massive and intricate details of the buildings are simply breathtaking. I was so impressed by the Emerald Buddha Temple with its stunning golden spires and intricate mosaics. The craftsmanship is remarkable, and I found myself mesmerized by the beauty of every corner. ⏩Dress Code: Be sure to dress appropriately. The moment I stepped into the bustling streets of Sukhumvit and Khao San Road, the vibrant aromas of grilled meats, spices, and sizzling woks hit me. Every corner offers something different, from pad thai to mango sticky rice, and the best part? Most dishes cost between 30-60 THB ($1-2), so it’s super affordable to try a bit of everything. One of my favorites was the spicy papaya salad (som tam)—refreshing, spicy, and full of flavor. The grilled satay skewers were also incredible! As I wandered, I discovered hidden gems in Chinatown, which is an absolute must for seafood lovers.     It was a short trip to Bangkok with family. Just to recommend some of the amazing places and restaurants that we loved 🥰 We visited The Grand Palace. It is a former royal residence, showcasing stunning architecture and the revered Emerald Buddha. The building was very beautiful and worth to visit. 📍Na Phra Lan Road, Phra Nakhon. I would also recommend you to visit Wat Pho. It is famous for the Reclining Buddha statue and as a traditional massage school. We spent half day exploring around had a lot of street food nearby ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 📍 2 Sanamchai Road, Phra Nakhon. We also visited the famous Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn). The Iconic riverside temple known for its towering spires. The central prang (tower) of Wat Arun is decorated with colorful porcelain and seashells, which create intricate patterns. We walked around slowly to admire the detailed craftsmanship and the beautiful spires. 📍158 Thanon Wang Doem, Wat Arun, Bangkok Yai Last but not least, I would also recommend you to visit Jim Thompson House. A museum in a traditional Thai house dedicated to the American silk entrepreneur, Jim Thompson. The highlight of visiting Jim Thompson House is the guided tour. Knowledgeable guides took us through the six traditional Thai-style houses that make up the complex, explaining the history of the house, Jim Thompson's life, and the artifacts he collected. It is very worth to visit 🙌🙌🙌 📍6 Soi Kasemsan 2, Rama 1 Road, Pathumwan. As for local Thai food, I would recommend you to try Jay Fai. It is Famous for its Michelin-starred street food, particularly the crab omelette 🦀 📍327 Maha Chai Road, Samran Rat, Phra Nakhon. If you prefer a decent restaurant, you can check out the Gaggan Anand. A renowned fine dining restaurant. The food was very lovely as well as the staffs. The price was reasonable. All the dishes that we ordered were delicious ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 📍68/1 Soi Langsuan, Ploenchit Road, Lumphini. We also visited the famous restaurant, Sorn.     If you’re visiting Bangkok this is a must visit, the Grand Palace. I booked my tickets online in advance, use the palace website and they will send you a QR code to collect tickets when you arrive. The palace itself is various temples, buildings and statues in a large compound. It can be very busy so try and go very early to beat the crowds. I was blown away by the detailing and intricate designs of every building and the scale of it was almost overwhelming. It can get very hot but there is lots of shade, so take breaks when you need too! There are audio tours or guided tours available but I opted for walking around and taking everything in myself. You can get there by bus, taxi, tuk tuk or the metro. I got the metro to Sanaa Chai then it’s a ten minute walk 💰Average Price per Person: 500 Tajo baht / £12 🕰️Business Hours: 8:30 - 3:30 🏖️Ambiance/Facilities: It’s a temple.     You better know these before your trip to Bangkok! Avoid detours!

    1. SIM Card It's recommended to purchase online in advance, or you can buy one after getting off the plane, as you will see SIM card stalls right after customs. I bought mine on Ctrip for 34.9 RMB, which includes unlimited data for 7 days, 50 minutes of talk time, and a phone number to register for taxi apps. If you choose a limited data plan, it's available for just over 20 RMB. 2. Exchanging Thai Baht Priority: Exchange at domestic banks in advance > Exchange RMB cash for Thai Baht > Withdraw Thai Baht from ATMs It's advised to exchange Thai Baht in advance domestically, as you'll need cash as soon as you leave the airport. The exchange rate at the airport is worse than in the city. In Bangkok, exchange shops are everywhere, near BTS stations, malls, and on the streets. It's good to compare rates, so don't worry too much if you run out of the Baht you exchanged in China. If you must exchange at the airport, don't do it at the shops right after customs. The ones upstairs near the departure area (3rd or 4th floor) have better rates. ATMs charge a 220 Baht fee, except for Bank of China machines. I used a card that waives international withdrawal fees, but after the ATM fee, the rate went from 4.8 to 4.2, which is a loss. I highly discourage it! Bank of China has only two branches in Bangkok, one in Ratchada and one in Chong Nonsi. If you're not staying nearby, don't bother coming here specifically to withdraw money. Mobile payments are accepted at: BTS ticket machines, merchants and restaurants in big malls, stores like 7-11 and Boots Cash only places: Various night markets, street vendors, restaurants outside malls, airport rail link, taxis, MTR subway ticket purchase, massage parlors 3. Public Transportation Thailand's BTS and MRT run until midnight. If you're staying close to a BTS or MRT station, even if you leave the airport at 11 pm, there's public transport available. The airport subway costs 45 Baht to the city and only accepts cash. BTS ticket machines accept mobile payments, while MTR subway only accepts cash. To visit the Grand Palace and Wat Arun, just take the public boat, which costs 16 Baht per person (don't end up on a boat that charges thousands per person). 4. Taxis Downloading just Bolt and Grab is sufficient. Compared to Grab, Bolt is much cheaper, but for the cheaper car models, there are no drivers accepting orders. Only the comfort model gets orders, but it's still a lot cheaper than Grab (160 Baht with Bolt vs. 220 Baht with Grab for the same location). I recommend directly booking Bolt's comfort model and paying in cash at the end. 5. Massage Parlors I didn't book any fancy massage parlors in advance, just walked into a suitable one near the hotel. Here's a reference for roadside massage parlor prices: 350 Baht for one hour (full body/foot), 250 Baht for half an hour. 6. Food Courts The food courts in Bangkok's malls are very delicious, with lots of choices. The cheapest is the food court on the top floor of Terminal 21, where a coconut is only 35 Baht (50-70 Baht at other night markets and weekend markets), a coconut ice cream is 28 Baht, and a plate of fried noodles is 40 Baht. Great value for money! 7. Wat Arun The ticket used to be 100 Baht, but from March it's 200 Baht. Take the boat from Wat Arun Pier Station for 16 Baht per person, and you'll arrive right at the ticket office. I didn't find a place to rent clothes outside, but inside the scenic area, the reference price for renting clothes is 300 Baht, including accessories and hairstyle, no makeup or photography, with a 1000 Baht cash deposit required. Renting clothes outside the scenic area should be cheaper.

    The Grand Palace is the palace of the Thai royal family. It was built in 1782 and has been expanded and renovated by generations of kings to its current scale. The Grand Palace has obvious Siamese architectural features, it is magnificent and has national characteristics, and it is called the 'encyclopedia of Thai art'. In 1992, the Thai government funded the construction of the Thai Buddha Garden in Luoyang White Horse Temple, which is a condensed essence of Thai architecture represented by the Bangkok Grand Palace. The Grand Palace covers a huge area and includes two parts for touring: the Jade Buddha Temple and the Grand Palace. The tourist entrance is at the Jade Buddha Temple. 🇹🇭Jade Buddha Temple Named after the jade Buddha enshrined in the temple, the temple is located in the northeast corner of the Grand Palace, about a quarter of the size of the Grand Palace. It is one of the three national treasures of Thailand, the guardian temple of the Chakri Dynasty, and the national temple. The jade Buddha is enshrined in the main hall, it is carved from real jade, 66 cm high and 48 cm wide. It was a treasure that was fought over by many countries. After being discovered in Chiang Rai in 1434, it has been enshrined in the Jade Buddha Temple. There are seven pairs of fairy statues on the high platform of the Jade Buddha Temple. The upper body of the lioness fairy is a woman, and the lower body is a lion; the upper body of the golden Nara is a man, and the lower body is a bird. Each door in the temple has a six-meter-high guardian Yaksha, holding a Dharma sword, which is very spectacular.
