#2024wish Very unique museum that's expansive and beautiful to walk through, with special exhibit as well like the Picasso museum. Went on a weekend and the weather was beautiful. We were able to buy tickets day of, and there are coin lockers available to store backpacks. We stayed for a few hours as we looked around at a leisurely pace. I wish to go back in 2024.

Hakone open air museum

The museum occupies a vast area and you can spend a few hours roaming the park. It’s a great place for both adults and kids with a lot of great shot opportunities! There’s a paid parking lot and if you use it, make sure to validate the ticket at the shop on the right side of the entrance (on your way in) to pay a flat 500-yen fee for 4 hours. There are some eateries inside in case you get hungry. It’s also accessible by public transportation. You need at least 2 hours to explore the park!

#celebratewithtrip Artworks are usually confined and preserved in museums. But art meets nature in Hakone. Beautiful open air museum set in an incredible mountain backdrop. Lots of awesome sculptures including some interactive ones that kids can play on. There’s also an awesome indoor Picasso exhibit with 300 works (no photos allowed). The environment is so inviting and refreshing, it stimulates your mind, heart, while you get some exercise in walking around their massive facility. Highly recommend giving this place a visit for anyone going to Hakone! #fallingforfall

This amazing Open Air Musuem is located in Hakone. Obviously not an ordinary one and has it's own Picasso museum. Half day is not enough to enjoy the whole huge place! Put it on your list if you're visiting Hakone. Entrance is 1600yen. Hakone's Art Journey.

This is the Hakone Open-Air Museum. Originally, I wasn't a big fan of art, but the trip to Hakone made me deeply appreciate the beauty of art. The art park here has many different and interesting sculptures, some of which can interact with visitors, making it very fun. The park is very large, with both outdoor and indoor sections. At that time, I was limited on time and only had 1 hour, so I hurriedly toured the outdoor area. The admission fee is not cheap, but I think it's totally worth it!

Had two different sets of photos when we went to museums in Japan (The Hakone Open Air Museum • Museum in Fukuoka) and I would recommend the Hakone Open Air Museum. It was a lot of walk because of how huge the place is but it will be worth it. #museums #hakonetrip #fukuokatrip

You can also find the expansive sculpture garden featuring over 120 masterpieces by renowned artists from around the world. Overall, we found the museum to be an interesting collection of works of art set against nature’s work of art. We would say, it’s a different way to experience art.

Hakone Sculpture Forest and Glass Forest Art Museum are worth a visit

The most surprising thing about coming to Japan is going to Hakone Sculpture Forest and Glass Forest Art Museum. Hakone is around Tokyo. I recommend Hakone Mount Fuji and then return to Tokyo. Taking the train to these two art museums is really beautiful and you won't regret it if you go. We went straight to Mount Fuji after we finished, and then returned from Mount Fuji. You can buy tickets at the entrance on the spot, which is about 80 RMB.

Hakone Sculpture Museum Half-Day Tour

We set off from Tokyo early in the morning with friends and drove to Hakone. The first stop was the Sculpture Museum. The tickets were booked online, and it was very convenient to enter the museum. The winter sun was shining brightly, there were not many tourists, and it was very suitable for a slow stroll. 1. There is a Picasso exhibition in the park. There are many sculptures, but I prefer his sketch manuscripts. The line drawing skills are really strong. Unfortunately, no photos are allowed in the exhibition area. 2. There is a small shop in the museum, and there is a foot bath next to it. Because the next stop is the Hakone Hot Spring Hotel, I didn't go for a foot bath, but it must be very comfortable. I bought ice cream in the shop, and the matcha flavor was delicious. If you are not driving by yourself, there is a shuttle bus to get there, but the museum is in the mountains, and I always feel that it is more convenient to drive by yourself. The parking fee is 500 yen each time.

#fallishere The Hakone open air museum is an amazing place which has a little of everything - huge sculptures, an amazing view, play areas for kids, Picasso's works and a nice cafe cum a footbath outside. It’s a sculpture museum featuring lots of open space in a beautiful location that surrounds mountains. superbly maintained landscaped gardens, walkways and well-curated pieces. Nice place to visit if you love art, but the place itself has a nice ambience and a good place to just relax and enjoy the view.

There were loads of sculptures and exhibits, as well as interactive fun for kids. It’s really lovely to spend an afternoon there. Well worth a visit as it is indeed an enjoyable experience! The artworks are placed in different areas of the garden, covering almost the entire circumference of the museum.
