[2024 Toledo Stay] Travel Guide for Toledo (Updated Dec)
A Day in Toledo
Toledo is a recommended day-trip destination for those who go to Madrid. It’s only an hour-train away from Atocha station in central Madrid and there are trains almost every hour. The train ticket can be under €20 depending what class you would like to sit.
If you plan to walk around the ancient city, remember to bring your hat/ umbrella / sunscreen if you’re worried about getting freckles or tanned because there is not much shade or cover in the city unless you stay indoor. I did not have anything and walked under the sun for 6 hours… and my skin needs a lot of first-aid afterwards.
Recommended to have a walking tour both in the centre where all the shops are and also up the hills and lookouts. Also there are a few museums if you fancy learning more about the local cultures. Some local musicians will play traditional Toledo music at the central plaza outside the McDonald’s there at noon if you happen to be there around that time. #celebratewithtrip #toledo #ancientcity

Walking tour in old Spanish capital Toledo
Once you step on this side of the Spanish land, you feel like you have returned to medieval time - there are old buildings, fortresses, decoration and souvenirs of armours, swords and ancient calligraphy, and a place to show a movie of how the town developed over the years. It’s quiet and pleasant. Good escape from the busy city centre! #walkingtour #oldtown #spain

pizza lovers get closer to COMES PIZZERIA☺
it's location is in a hidden alley way. but when you Comes in... wow.. the interesting place with a nice vibe. The staff are super friendly and also helpful with checking for allergens. They speak English and Spanish, very friendly and service it's good.the colorful space for pizzas, burgers, tapas & burritos, with a vegetarian selection also. the pizza was very fantastic that it’s thin crust with a solid undercarriage.
They had some locally made liquors which seems interesting to try. I had a home made lemonade with mint and ginger which was really refreshing after a long walk under the heat of Toledo.
I would Comes Here again if there any chance visiting toledo again.#happytrip #foodie #pizzalover #toledo #spaintravel

Great Food in Qántara, Toledo
Found this local place by accident. The fried squid and pork ribs were delicious! The bartender recommended fantastic local beers for us. Great experience here! We enjoyed it!
Qantara bar is ideally situated 10 mins from train station and a 15 min walk into the old town. I think stopping by Quantara is a must when you are traveling Toledo.

The World Is Mine
Plaza de las Cuatro Calles
The first thing about Plaza Cuatro Calles is that there are actually five roads that converge here, not four. It seems this name has been used since the 14th century.
But the charm of the square also lies in its current architecture and its location. The square has incomparable views of the Cathedral and communicates almost directly with its clock door.
This square is the commercial heart of the city, with shops selling clothing, perfumes, souvenirs and many more
Visitors who pass through this albeit busy place on a daily basis are perhaps far from thinking that they are passing through one of the most charismatic places in the history of Toledo and of Spanish culture.

If you go to Toledo, Spain, you must visit the Toledo Cathedral!
The Toledo Cathedral is one of the three major Gothic cathedrals in Spain, built in the 13th century. Toledo was the old capital of Spain, and as such, there are many beautiful works of art inside the cathedral! Even if you are not religious, I thought it would be great to see the architecture and works of art : ) And the view from the Toledo Viewpoint after leaving the Toledo Cathedral is also very beautiful, so I hope you check it out 🌷

Toledo old Town with Tajo River - Spain
As you arrive in Toledo, one of the first sights you’ll notice is the winding El Rio Tajo, Spanish for the Tagus River, which surrounds the city on three sides—much like a moat would surround an ancient castle. It is the longest river in the Iberian Peninsula, and although it winds through parts of Spain and Portugal, Toledo is the largest Spanish city on its banks. The natural beauty of the meandering banks of the Tagus, coupled with the important built heritage, has given an enduring#toledo character to Toledo’s landscape. The course of the Tagus takes it through very few cities in Spain, a reflection of the rugged mountainous terrain and arid soil of the areas through which it flows#travelinspiration #riverside #spaintravel #toledo
