Tired of the usual touristy temple like Wat Arun, Wat Pho or Grand Palace?
Try Wat Benchamabophit, the Marble Temple. The Architecture design is quite exquisite, lines with the Aesthetic of the grand palace.
When we went there, not much people is around so you can take good quality pics with the temple as your background. Nice and serene, you can sit by the water feature and just chill for a moment~
Entrance is free if it’s only outside/garden area. Going inside the temple proper will have a fee (around 50baht i think?)

Wat Benchamabopit
Thailand is known for its temples, but I wasn’t expecting each one to be so different.
Bangkok is home to some of the more famous landmarks, Wat Benchamabopit is one of those quieter less explored temples but completely worth a visit.
Also known as The Marble Temple, we visited around 11am and it was pretty quiet still. Plenty of opportunity to take in the stunning sights of these white temple buildings.
Entrance fee is 50baht with no time limit, enjoy the decor of the indoor temple and Buddha located in the centre of the area.

Thailand is one of the countries I love the most. I’m
never tired of coming back and visit the same temples. There is something so beautiful about this country, the food, it’s friendly people, nice beaches, beautiful temples and the list continues.
For me it is one of the countries in Asia where they are very well used to tourism, so as a traveler you can have a good experience when a destination knows how to treat you. I didn’t have a lot of bad experiences at all but I think Thailand always makes me feel so comfortable and welcoming. Except the tourist visa application, that’s always a nightmare 😂 but that’s something I’m willing to deal for some tom yum soup!

The building is very beautiful and impressive✨
There were few people, so I was able to spend time leisurely!!
There is a small stream and benches, making it perfect for resting when you get tired of walking.

Exploring the Serenity of Marble Temple: Shadows of Clouds and Echoes of Stone
The Marble Temple (Wat Benchamabophit) in Bangkok is renowned for its pristine white marble architecture, resembling a serene sculpture floating in time. One afternoon, I wandered into this temple, where the sunlight cast a gentle glow on the marble walls, reflecting a soft luster akin to quietly drifting clouds.
Entering the main hall, a golden Buddha statue sits majestically at the center, exuding an aura of sanctity and tranquility. Every pillar and window frame inside the hall is intricately carved, showcasing the elegance of traditional Thai art in all its glory. Looking up at the ceiling, the vibrant red and gold colors and intricate patterns add a sense of grandeur and splendor to the entire temple.
Outside the temple, a serene corridor surrounds the courtyard, with rows of Buddha statues silently yet warmly gazing at each visitor. The lotus flowers in the pond stand gracefully, reflecting the image of the Marble Temple, creating a tranquil and harmonious scene.
Here, I felt not only the beauty of the architecture but also a profound sense of inner peace and calm. The Marble Temple, with its simple yet magnificent presence, serves as a sanctuary for the soul amidst the hustle and bustle of Bangkok.

Bangkok Temples: The Way To Get To Know This City
#voyagevibes
Every guest of Bangkok should first of all start exploring the capital from Bangkok famous temples. After all, in addition to the fact that they are very beautiful and famous, they are also the most important sacred places for the inhabitants of Thailand.
There are most beautiful and popular among tourists. They are popular for a reason, and they are worth visiting:
The Temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Trai Mit) could be just one of thousands of temples, if not for the world's largest golden statue of a seated Buddha. Thais say that it consists entirely of gold, and its weight is 5 and a half tons. The pupils of the Buddha's eyes are black Thai sapphires, and the whites of the eyes are made of pearls. The temple complex consists of several temple buildings and even a museum, so there will be something to see here.
The Marble Temple (Wat Benchamabophit, also Marble Temple) is one of the most beautiful in Bangkok. Although it is called "Marble", in literal translation the name sounds like "The Temple of King Rama V", by whose order it was built in 1899. After the death of the king, his ashes were immured at the base of the main Buddha statue of the temple.
Wat Suthat Thep Wararam Temple, located in the heart of Bangkok, is one of the oldest. It is known for hosting one of the most beautiful and largest Viharn (sermon hall). The temple began to be built in 1807 under King Rama I, and was completed only in 1947 under King Rama III. At the base of the pedestal of the statue is a part of the ashes of King King Rama VIII. In 2005, the temple was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The Ratchanadaram Temple (Wat Ratchanaddaram, also Ratchanadda) began to be built in 1846 by order of King Rama III, but to date the construction is still considered incomplete, which makes it the longest long–term construction in Thailand - more than 160 years. It is interesting, first of all, for its unusual architecture, different from other Thai temples: the main chedi is made in the form of a multi-level pyramid made of metal. the territory of the complex is quite large, decorated with greenery and beautiful buildings, but there are very few tourists here.
The Temple of the Golden Mountain (Wat Saket) is famous for its gilded pagoda built on a high artificial hill called the golden mountain. For a long time, before skyscrapers began to be built in Bangkok, this pagoda was the tallest building in the city. This temple is very revered by believers, because it contains a piece of Buddha's ashes brought from India.

Wat Benchamabopitr or The Marble Temple, as known to foreigners, is most satisfactory architecturally with its symmetry and lovely proportions. The Uposatha Hall (Bot or Ordination Hall) was constructed from Carrera marble from Italy and showing distinct European neo classical influence. It was designed by H.R.H. Prince Narisranuvattivongse, half brother to King Chulalongkorn, Rama V, and has been reckoned for its architectural and decorative arts of finest Thai craftsmanship, say, second to none in the world. It attracts the interest of tourists throughout the world to come to visit with a large number each year.

Wat Benchamabophit Dusitwanaram is one of the most beautiful and famous royal temples in Bangkok, Thailand. It was built in 1899 by Prince Narisara Nuwattiwong (Prince Narisara Nuwattiwong), the mistress of Rama Dynasty (5) King of Kulalongkorn. There are also two lions at the entrance of the temple. In 2005, it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Most foreigners know it as Wat Ben. As for Myanmar people, it is commonly known as (#5 Baton Temple). The reason is because the image of the temple is attached to the Thai five baht coin.
The temple is built with marble imported from Italy, and inside the temple, a bronze statue of the Sukhothai period (1238-1438) is worshiped. The statue's title is Phra Phuttha Chinnarat and it was installed in 1920. It is also reported that a statue similar to the statue of Kannada was installed inside the Maha Theg Monastery in Phisnuwsong District, northern Thailand. 🇹🇭

Wat Benchamabophit & Wat Arun: Bangkok’s Top Temple Picks
If you’re in Bangkok, you’ve gotta check out Wat Benchamabophit and Wat Arun.... They’re both amazing!
Wat Benchamabophit, or the Marble Temple, is all about those sleek, aesthetic vibes. The white marble gives it a super classy look, and inside, the red and gold hall with the big Buddha statue is stunning. I spent some time just wandering the peaceful gardens and checking out the rows of Buddha statues.... It was a great way to unwind and soak in the tranquil atmosphere.
Then there’s Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn. It’s hard to miss with its colorful spires that shine bright in the sunlight. Climbing up those steep steps was a bit of a challenge, but the view from the top of the Chao Phraya River and the city was absolutely worth it. I also caught a beautiful sunset there.... It made the whole experience even more magical.
So, whether you’re looking for a chill spot to reflect or some epic views for your feed, Wat Benchamabophit and Wat Arun are must visits. They definitely made my Bangkok trip unforgettable!

Visiting **Wat Benjaminavit Dusituanaram** was a wonderful experience. It's quite tourist friendly with the multiple languages on the panels, and even braille too! Would say it's quite inclusive because there are ramps for those who may come in on wheelchairs too.
Really beautiful temple, and the scorching sun further enhances the brightness of the white temple. Marble flooring is beautiful, and there is a giant Buddha in one of the rooms with really intricate stained glass windows.
The marble flooring gets EXCEPTIONALLY hot when you're taking photos outside in the sun barefooted. So, do be careful because I scalded the soles of my feet for a 20-second photo session. 🥲 Otherwise, you can marvel the architecture from afar!

First and Unique Marble Treasure
#bangkoktrip
Thai traditions and European decor are easily to be traced in the architecture of the religious building. The eclecticism is explained by the fact that the fifth king of Siam from the Chakri dynasty, who ruled the country from 1868 to 1910, visited Europe and saw the beauty of architectural masterpieces of Western countries. During the 42 years that Chulalongkorn was in power, large-scale transformations were carried out in the kingdom: slavery was abolished, education and health systems were created, railways, post and telegraph appeared, the lunar calendar was replaced by the solar one. The heir of Rama IV continued his father's work to save the state from colonization and became the first Thai ruler to send his children to study in Europe.
Wat Benchamabophit or Marble Temple is the only Buddhist building in Thailand, the decorative design of which traces the influence of Western culture. For the construction of the temple complex, Carrara marble was supplied from Italy, a material unusual for Southeast Asia. Natural stone, deposits of which are located in the vicinity of the Italian city of Carrara in the Apuan Alps, was used both for finishing buildings and the surrounding area.
The pediment is supported by cylindrical columns typical of ancient architecture. Sculptures of guardian lions are installed on both sides of the entrance gate. The multi-level roof is decorated with glazed tiles imported from China.
The main place of religious worship is ubosot, where monks and pilgrims pray at the gilded figure of the Buddha. This is a copy of a statue cast during the Middle Ages in the kingdom of Sukhothai, and the original is located in the Thai province of Phitsanulok. The spiritual master sits in the lotus position, touching the ground with his right hand. This gesture is called bhumisparsha mudra and means a call to the real world to witness enlightenment achieved. The left hand lies on his lap with the palm facing up. Varada mudra expresses blessing, compassion and liberation from earthly worries. A distinctive feature of the statue is a halo similar to flames surrounding the head and shoulders of the deity, and below it turns into Nagas mythical snake-like creatures.

Wat Benchamabophit
Visiting the Wat Benchamabophit Temple was a peaceful and enjoyable experience. What I loved about the temple was its unique architectural style, different from other temples I had visited in Thailand.
I was drawn to the main hall of the temple, which was built with sparkling white marble. The temple was clean and quiet, aiding in meditation and reflection.
I walked around the gardens surrounding the temple, enjoying the greenery and the landscape. I also visited a small museum with a collection of Buddhist antiques.

The most worthwhile temple to visit in Bangkok--Wat Benchamabophit
Wat Benchamabophit is located on the famous Ayutthaya Road in Bangkok, comparable to the Grand Palace, and is one of the oldest temples in Thailand. The temple is constructed of marble, and although it is not large in scale, it offers a spacious and serene scenery.
The temple has a small river, with two small bridges connecting the inner and outer courtyards. In the center of the garden is an ancient bell tower, where one can listen to the bell and chanting in the evening. At sunset, the warm sunlight and evening breeze add color to the temple, while flocks of magpies soar above, telling the stories of the day, waiting for the new sunrise.
Compared to other temples in Bangkok, Wat Benchamabophit has an open space, is tolerant and inclusive, giving a sense of hope and peace, symbolizing the experience Thailand offers to tourists. Wat Benchamabophit has witnessed the glory of six centuries of dynasties, with the temple and monk dormitory buildings preserving the original Thai style, dazzling to behold.
If you are going to Bangkok, Wat Benchamabophit is a sight worth visiting. The garden, ancient bell tower, and small bridges within the temple are very picturesque, especially at sunset. The air is fresh here, where one can listen to chanting and bell sounds, feeling the ancient cultural heritage of Bangkok.
Wat Benchamabophit is open from 9 am to 4 pm, and the entrance fee for foreign tourists is 50 Thai Baht. The temple address is: 69 Ayutthaya Road, Dusit District, Bangkok, Thailand.
The scenery of Wat Benchamabophit in Bangkok is pleasant and the air is quiet, making it an excellent place to experience traditional Bangkok culture. If you want to avoid the crowds, go in the early morning or evening to see the sunrise and sunset, listen to the chanting, and feel the charm of this ancient temple.
