N things you need to know before going to the Reclining Buddha Temple in Bangkok
Among the famous attractions in Bangkok, I personally think the most beautiful and best to shoot is the Reclining Buddha Temple, with fewer tourists than the Grand Palace next door and much larger than the Zheng Wang Temple opposite.
🛕About the Reclining Buddha Temple (Wat Pho)
The Reclining Buddha Temple, built in 1793 during the Ayutthaya Dynasty, is the largest and oldest temple in Bangkok, with the world's largest reclining Buddha.
The 1986 Journey to the West is said to have been filmed at the Reclining Buddha Temple.
The Reclining Buddha Temple is the birthplace of Thai massage.
🛕Photography tips
The Reclining Buddha Temple is divided into the main hall area and the pagoda area. There are nearly a hundred large and small pagodas in the pagoda area, filled with colorful tiles and gold foil. The most spectacular are the four large pagodas. The pagoda area is super beautiful for photography. If there are many people in front of the pagoda, you can go around to the back, very few tourists.
Compared to Zheng Wang Temple, you can hardly see any girls in Thai costumes in the Reclining Buddha Temple. I met two Southeast Asian beauties who came to take pictures, which was simply stunning.
🛕Tour tips
The Reclining Buddha Temple is next to the Grand Palace, about a 12-minute walk, and can be visited together.
The Tah Tian pier opposite the Reclining Buddha Temple is the ferry to Zheng Wang Temple, 5 baht one way. The large pier opposite the Grand Palace is N9-Tha Chang, with a 30 baht double-decker sightseeing boat and the Orange flag line to Zheng Wang Temple.
The restaurant in the alley opposite the Reclining Buddha Temple is the best place to shoot Zheng Wang Temple, and there is also a small pier for long-tail boats to go to Zheng Wang Temple on the opposite bank.
It is recommended to wear double socks, as you need to take off your shoes to enter the main hall and the golden hall of the Reclining Buddha Temple.
🛕Basic information
Address: 2 Sanam Chai Rd, Phra Borom Maha Ratchawang, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200
Opening hours: 8:00-18:30
Ticket price: 300 baht (price increase? Buy tickets at the entrance, cash required)

Wat Pho
Again with the Bangkok temples.
Wat Pho is known for being home to The Reclining Buddha but actually this area is huge, it took me a good hour of wandering around to reach the Buddha area. (It’s actually right beside the entrance!)
Entrance costs 200baht - special area for foreigners to enter into.
Explore the various colours and styles of pagodas and temple buildings around Wat Pho.
I entered around 1pm, it wasn’t particularly busy, the reclining Buddha area was very busy though, expect to wait for a chance to snap photos.

Famous for its Reclining Buddha🇹🇭
#timetotravel
We came here for its reclining Buddha but to my surprise this place is more than that. It is like a box filled with many surprises. However, if you don't have enough time on your itineraty the reclining Buddha alone is worth thr visit. The size and thr golden color of it is just magnificent and a sight you truly want to remember. Tourists must remove their shoes then must walk clockwise around the Buddha. The entire place of Wat Pho is very impressive especially the details of the architecture of each temple. You will surely enjoy your visit here. I highly recommend to come here in the morning when there are not a lot of tourists yet. Basically be the first tourists to enter there because it could get crowded and it is hard to take photos.

Wat Pho Temple: The Reclining Buddha
📸Attraction Name: Reclining Buddha
📍Location : 2 Sanamchai Road Grand Palace Subdistrict, Pranakorn District, Bangkok 10200 Thailand
🚏Best way to get there: taxi/train
This Reclining Buddha in Bangkok, Thailand is one of the absolute must-see attractions when you are in the area. This well-known reclining Buddha can be found in Wat Po temple. The figure is 15 meters high and 46 meters long, and it is one of the largest Buddha statues in Thailand. It is so big that taking a full-length picture of it is quite a challenge. I managed to get a nice angle from his feet. Take time to observe the feet with auspicious symbols of Buddha. You need to pay around 5.20€. Please keep in mind that it is required to take your shoes off and put them on the shelf before entering religious buildings.

Exploring Wat Pho, Bangkok
If you are in Bangkok this is a must visit. Wat Pho is one of the most famous temples in this Thai city and is especially well known for it’s impressive “reclining Buddha” statue. It’s riverside location makes it easy to catch the river bus to Wat Arun; a spectacular temple on the opposite river bank. Be aware that you need to wear modest clothes to gain entrance to this and most temples in Thailand; covered shoulders and legs are required, and you will be given scarves to cover up with at the entrance gate if you are not wearing appropriate clothes. The entire site is very large and can take a few hours to stroll around. I recommend bringing a fan and umbrella for shade as it can become extremely hot under the afternoon sun.

Amazing Wat Pho 😍
Spent a few hours with my good friend in amazing Wat Pho, one of the must-visit tourist attractions in Bangkok. It is open for visitors since 8 AM in the morning. I visited it at 3 PM in the afternoon and I enjoyed it so much. Walking around the Wat Pho was very fun for me.
Besides of the beautiful temple, it also has the wonderful Reclining Buddha. Finally got to see it in person after many times of watching its video or photo on social media! Since it is a Buddhism temple area, we have to pay attention to several rules and behavior as well ☺️
Entrance fee of Wat Pho is 200 Baht. You can come here with several options of transportation. But last time I went there by Online Motorbike Taxi, because it was very convenient to use.
Last but not least, happy holiday everyone! Let me know in the comment section if you have visited this amazing place too ✨

Wat Pho (Reclining Buddha)
I initially didn’t want to visit Wat Pho but I accidentally boarded a 5 baht ferry from Wat Arun so I was like, "I might as well."
I was surprised at the crowd and even more when I was at the ticket counter that the entrance fee increased from 100 baht to 200 baht.
I went inside and I was in awe at how big the reclining buddha was. The details on the ceilings and walls were also nice to see.
It was quick, however, as tourists only went around the Buddha in under 10 minutes. There was a museum nearby so I spent time there too.
Tips:
1. Wear easy to remove shoes as it's required and there are many people grabbing for the green shoe cases.
2. Don't carry too much stuff when you visit.

You’ll need to take your shoes off to enter, and if you’d like a little good luck, you can buy a bowl of coins at the entrance of the hall then you can drop them in the 108 bronze bowls which line the length of the walls. when you drop the pennies in makes a nice ringing sound and this is what you hear the whole time you are there, the money goes towards helping the monks renovate and preserve Wat Pho. there is lots more to see at wat phra, I rented a guide for 200 baht who told me lots of great information, definitely worth a visit

The Temple of the Reclining Buddha
Capturing the fullness of Wat Pho in pictures may prove to be a herculean task.
Wat Pho is one of the temple complex within the Grand Palace, directly at the southern part, and is also oldest in all of Bangkok. Built sometime in 1848, it is here where the golden statue of the giant reclining Buddha lies. This is in fact the biggest reclining buddha in the City measuring some 15 meters high and spans 15 meter in length.
Wat Pho is also called Temple of the Reclining Buddha.
Also lined up in the temple are hundreds of smaller buddha in different positions.

I recommend arriving before 9 am. It gets busy afterwards.
