Xuan Paper Museum of China
The Xuan Paper Museum of China is located in Jing County and was officially opened in 2015. It is one of the core projects of the Chinese Xuan Paper Cultural Park and the Xuan Paper Training Base, including the Xuan Paper Museum, Xuan Paper Skills Display and Experience Area, Xuan Paper Raw Materials Observation and Processing Area, and the Calligraphers and Painters Creation Center. It is the first systematic and comprehensive Xuan Paper museum in the country.
The museum project covers an area of about 615 acres, with a construction area of approximately 63,770 square meters.
The museum has three floors: the first floor is the Xuan Paper History and Skills Display Area, the second floor is the Collection of Xuan Paper and Fine Calligraphy and Painting Display Area, and the third floor is the Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition Hall.

This must be the ceiling of museum architecture aesthetics
Before leaving Jing County, I checked in at the Xuan Paper Museum, a landmark building in Jing County that indeed brought surprises. It is not only a holy place for photography but also allows for an in-depth appreciation of the intangible cultural charm of 'paper longevity for a thousand years, ink charm for ten thousand years.' Such popular museums are beneficial in many ways.
The Xuan Paper Museum, built against the mountains, is located in the Xuan Paper Cultural Park. It was invested by the Hongxing Xuan Paper Factory, costing one hundred million, and the designer is Professor Yu Kongjian, who participated in the Water Cube project. It's another project where a master makes a move. As soon as you enter the museum, you step into a space soaked in Chinese aesthetics. Inspired by the shape of ancient books, the main body of the building is full of tension. Square grilles, through different angles, present the sequential sense of stacking paper, perfectly integrating with Chinese courtyards and Huizhou ancient architecture, as if creating a 'heaven outside heaven' of Xuan paper. Under the effect of light and shadow, walking among them is like a breeze flipping through pages of paper, inviting visitors to read the wordless history that has been passed down for a thousand years.
Everything has a spirit, and Xuan paper is one of them. It carries other people's stories and also shapes its own extraordinary.
'Light as cicada's wings, white as snow, fluttering like fine silk without a sound,' a sheet of Xuan paper requires carefully selected Shatian rice straw and Qingtan tree bark, polished through 108 processes to meet the standards of 'ink absorption, deformability, durability, and insect resistance.' The craft of papermaking is not achieved overnight, and it is said that just the paper lifting process takes three to five years to learn. No wonder it is said that Xuan paper embodies the principles of being human: 'There are no shortcuts to personal growth; one must go through hardships and see the world to strengthen muscles and grow talents.'
Xuan paper can be preserved for up to 1050 years. With it as a medium, countless precious ancient books and famous paintings have been passed down. In this light, Xuan paper, costing 1000 yuan per cut, is absolutely worth more than its price, and its title as a national treasure is well deserved. In the Xuan Paper Museum, you can not only converse with the architecture but also fully understand the traditional Xuan paper-making skills and even experience the production process of paper, ink, brush, inkstone, fan, and paper curtain. Unfortunately, the 'Three Zhang Three' giant Xuan production workshop is currently under maintenance and not open to the public. Not being able to thoroughly explore the Xuan Paper Cultural Park this time seems to be an unavoidable regret in every trip.

Experience what's only found in textbooks
The rice paper museum was truly astonishing.
I was fortunate to witness dozens of people making rice paper on site, it was absolutely incredible.
Words cannot express.
I used to have little interest in such museums, thinking they weren't for me, hard to get into. This time, I've truly been schooled.

📚 Tips: Purchase tickets online in advance, only 88 yuan for a family of three, which is more cost-effective than buying tickets on-site. 💳
✅ Visitor Flow: This place is relatively niche, it is recommended to enter the park around 9 am when there are not many people and parking is ample. After 10 am, the number of visitors increases, but it is not overcrowded. 🕘
🈚 A Small Regret: Inside the three Zhang three Che workshop, there are only tools and space, no workers operating on-site, which is somewhat regrettable. 🛠️
🔗 Interactive Experience: In the experience hall, you can participate in papermaking, movable type printing, dabbing printing, thread-bound bookbinding, etc., with a fee of 30 yuan per person, especially suitable for family parent-child tours, children will love it. 💼
💪 Highly Recommended For:
Families who learn soft pen calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting, to understand the past and present of Xuan paper.
Photography enthusiasts, this place provides a beautiful backdrop, it is recommended to arrive early, dressed in traditional Chinese clothing, complementing the ink painting.
🚫 Discouraged For: It is not recommended to bring preschool children, as they may find it boring. 👶
⏳ Visiting Time: It is recommended to plan for about two hours.
🅿️ Parking Guide: Parking inside the park is quite convenient, there are many parking spaces available for visitors at the entrance, so there is no need to worry about parking. 🚗
This is a great place to understand the process of making Xuan paper and experience traditional handicrafts. Remember to plan your trip in advance, arrive early, and fully enjoy this cultural journey! 🎨📜🏞️

Xuan Paper Culture Park
Monochrome silhouette. Xuancheng.
Xuan paper is a unique Chinese handicraft, with the characteristics of soft texture, smooth as jade, non-moth-eaten, non-rotten, and ever-changing ink charm. It enjoys the reputation of "thousand-year longevity paper" and is known as a "national treasure". This Xuan Paper Culture Park in Xuancheng, Anhui is worth visiting.
1. Scenery: The overall white architecture, with soft curves and curved surfaces, layered and stacked, is very charming. There is a pool of clear water outdoors, reflecting the blue sky and white clouds, a large sense of déjà vu.
2. Project: There are series introductions of Xuan paper and visits to the process of making Xuan paper in the museum. Especially, it is meaningful to print on Xuan paper with red ink pad as a souvenir.
3. Inheritance: Bring the children to have a look, walk around, take pictures, and spend an interesting weekend, which is both educational and entertaining.
