    Getting There - If you live in Zhangzhou you can go there by taxi, car or even ride a motorbike. It takes 15 minutes by taxi and costs about12rmb from where I'm staying. Attractions - There are a lot of things you can find since it's a huge park. There are beautiful lanterns, lights, bridges, river and you can see people around doing exercises, Others are fishing as well. The view is refreshing. Hotels - There are a lot of hotels you can find around. This place is quite convenient. Food & Restaurants - A lot of restaurants around. But inside the park you can't see one. You should eat first or bring your own food and drinks. Shopping - You can also shop around. There are malls nearby the park so it's good after you stroll around the park then you can go shopping. The city covers a land area of 12,600 square kilometers and a sea area of 18,600 square kilometers. The climate is mild, belonging to the subtropical monsoon humid climate. The territory of Zhangzhou has been inhabited by ancestors for over ten thousand years.     I didn't even stay in Zhangzhou for a full 24 hours, but I found the ancient city quite interesting! It has new parts, like the food walking streets that are common in every city; it also has old parts, some old buildings, old flavors, the elderly residents living here, and their various colorful shops~ The pace of life here is slow, reflected in the people leisurely drinking tea and playing mahjong at their doorsteps, and in the shops selling goods that have disappeared from the big cities... I really like two streets here, but both have trendy names, Taiwan Road and Hong Kong Road. Two famous stone archways are located on Hong Kong Road, and right, right, there's also the smallest aerial temple in the country worth climbing up to see.

    Min Nan Charm with Nanyang Flavor --- A Great Place for a Date or a Leisurely Stroll

    🚙 I set off from Chaozhou with my northern friend, driving to Fujian for a brief visit. Our first stop was Zhangzhou, which I remembered as a small city. However, the roads were wide, the greenery was well-maintained, and the buildings were tall, indicating the city's solid foundation. It's quite different from the organized chaos of my hometown Chaozhou . 🏡 Zhangzhou Ancient City is a well-preserved historical and cultural site within Zhangzhou, complete with an underground parking lot. The cultural landscape of the ancient city is rich, retaining many ancient temples and traditional streets, exuding a strong Min Nan and Nanyang fusion atmosphere. It's like an old lady with a heart of white and orange-red, speaking the ancient Chaozhou dialect (which is different from Min Nan dialect, and why Zhangzhou people speak Chaozhou dialect is a matter for investigation). 👉 We visited during a holiday, and the ancient city was lively but not crowded. There were quite a few cultural and creative shops; the cover photo was taken from the second floor of a bookstore. There were even more food-related businesses, and with the help of the integrated architectural background, the general mood was quite pleasant. We watched the night view of the ancient city from the second floor of a coffee shop, and a procession dressed in ancient costumes passed by, heading into the night, creating a somewhat eerie atmosphere... 👉 Walking around the ancient city, the street snacks were not much different from our Chaozhou snacks. The four-fruit soup was sweet and refreshing, and the mochi was surprisingly delicious, winning over my northern friend with its simple and pure taste. 👉 What made a deep impression was the truly ancient archways here (the ancient archways from the Ming and Qing dynasties have been restored), standing solemnly one after another, casting powerful shadows and giving a strong sense of historical vicissitudes. In contrast, our famous Paifang Street in Chaozhou now only has new archways (rebuilt based on historical images and remaining components of Chaozhou's ancient archways), which is regrettable. ❤️ Overall, with such charm and such a crowd, Zhangzhou Ancient City should be considered a rather low-key attraction in China, and it's free to enter, making it suitable for a casual stroll with a loved one, offering a unique charm.

    Charming and Simple Ancient Town - Zhangzhou Ancient Town

We stayed at a homestay in the ancient city called Fanghua It's very convenient to enter and exit the ancient city. On the second day, no one walked to the ancient city early.     Zhangzhou Ancient City🪷 the small temples I've walked through

    🪷 Garan Temple, located next to the stone archway, is the smallest aerial temple in China. Below is a single-story passageway, and if you walk through the passageway and up the stairs, you'll reach Garan Temple. The space inside the temple is very small, and it feels crowded even with just two people praying at the same time. From the balcony of Garan Temple, you can see the archway, and the temple's incense burner is also placed on this small balcony. 🧐Note: Zhangzhou Garan Temple is the smallest aerial temple in China, and the qualifiers 'domestic' and 'aerial' are essential, otherwise there are smaller temples in Xiamen and Chaozhou. 🪷 Tongyuan Temple, just keep walking straight ahead from the opposite side of the Confucian Temple along Longyan Camp until you reach a large banyan tree. This temple is on the edge of the ancient city, and if you walk further out, you'll reach the riverside park by the Jiulong River. Built during the Ming dynasty and expanded in the Qing dynasty, it was requisitioned by the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's Prince Li Shixian in the late Qing dynasty, so it is also known as 'Prince's Mansion'.     Spring Festival trip to Quanzhou and Zhangzhou - Zhangzhou Ancient City
