How can outdoor enthusiasts pass up this route! Four years ago, when my dad went to the US, I helped plan the trip and discovered Zion National Park. After watching videos from other bloggers, I fell in love immediately! This time when I went, I quickly finalized this spot✨ We left the Airbnb at 5 AM and arrived at the park entrance in about an hour. The advantage of arriving early is you don’t have to spend time slowly looking for parking; there are plenty of spots to choose from! There was also a surprise💫 Many wild deer were walking on the road in the morning, making it feel like stepping into Snow White’s world! 1. Scout Lookout We started hiking around 7:30 AM, the temperature was fine, and the sun was out. We reached the top around 8:50 (the starting point of Angels Landing, but we didn’t get the permit, so we stopped here). There were many squirrels 🐿️ at the summit. We sat up there eating bread, took some photos, and after an hour, we leisurely headed back down. Difficulty: 2. The Narrows This is also one of the classic routes. You have to walk a long way before reaching the water path. If the weather is bad, this route will be closed. When I went, the water was super cold. I only took photos at the beginning of the water section and then turned back. TIPS: You can rent a wetsuit to keep warm (I didn’t rent one to save money and regretted it a bit after getting in the water). Difficulty: 3. Canyon Overlook This route requires driving yourself; there is no shuttle bus. It was 2 PM when we were still hesitating in the car about whether to hike, but then we thought, “We’re here, so let’s do it!” Online guides said this route is quite easy, so some people even hiked in flip-flops, haha. Compared to the first route, it’s definitely much easier, but I still recommend hiking shoes because some parts can be slippery. This national park has many other trails worth exploring, including The Subway Trail (permit required), where you can see dinosaur footprints, and the Pa’rus Trail, which is a very chill route suitable for those with less stamina. I have to say, this was the most unforgettable and favorite day of my US trip. I recommend it to friends like me who love to use physical effort to experience different environments! TIPS: Be sure to bring hiking poles and sun-protective clothing. You don’t have to buy expensive hiking shoes; you can search online for “kampung adidas”—lightweight and cheap. If you don’t want to bring them back, just leave them in the US without regret. Prepare bread, cookies, and fruit the day before so you can replenish energy along the way. If you want easy parking, arrive early and first hike the routes accessible by the shuttle bus; parking at the Canyon Overlook entrance is limited, so try to go around lunchtime when the morning crowd has left and the afternoon crowd hasn’t arrived yet!
