Yellowstone National Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Spend a night at Yellowstone National Park
Why would you go to a natural hot spring when you have a hot tub at home?🛁
Because hot springs are actually natural wonders, not just mineral-rich waters that have accumulated in pools or been channeled into man-made spas. Grand Prismatic Spring is the biggest hot spring in the United States and the third largest in the world. The center of the spring is sterile due to extreme heat about 188.6 degrees Fahrenheit, resulting in a deep blue color, surrounded by rings of color ranging from green to red, which is caused by bacteria that flourish in the warm, mineral-rich waters.
🏊♀️Despite the fact that swimming is prohibited for obvious reasons, this is one of the most photogenic thermal phenomena on the planet.

Grand Teton National Park
Half-day tour of Grand Teton National Park | The most comprehensive guide
After visiting Yellowstone National Park, I personally feel that the overall experience of Grand Teton is better. Although the geysers of Yellowstone are indeed shocking, Grand Teton, which is not picky about the weather, attracts me more. Even on cloudy days, casual shots are very photogenic. The prairie, snow-capped mountains, sky, everything is too harmonious.
Grand Teton Moments:
📍Pictures 1-2 - Mormon Row
A few abandoned old barns, very photogenic. There are many holes dug by prairie dogs on the grassland. They will drill out of the holes from time to time, super cute. Picture 3 is a baby prairie dog.
📍Picture 4 - Schwabacher Landing
There is a trail along the river, not very long, you can go down and take a walk.
📍Picture 5 - Oxbow Bend
I personally feel it is a very good point for shooting sunrise and sunset. Because of time, we just checked in there and left.
📍Picture 6 - Snake River Overlook
The trees have grown leaves in summer, so it's a bit blocked, but it doesn't affect. When we went there, they said there were two bears by the river, but because we didn't buy binoculars, we didn't see anything. For those who are interested in animals, remember to prepare binoculars in advance.
📍Picture 7 - Jenny Lake
Jenny Lake is a smaller lake south of Jackson Lake. There is a trail along the river. You can also take a boat to the other side of the river. The adult boat ticket is $12 one way and $20 round trip. Children under 11 are $10 one way and $12 round trip.
📍Pictures 8-9 - Jackson Lake Lodge
I highly recommend this hotel. We booked a regular lodge, $461 a night. The hotel lobby has large floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the snow-capped mountains. There are also restaurants and souvenir shops in the lobby, where you can buy binoculars, but they are more expensive than outside, it is recommended to buy in advance. Looking at the photo wall of the hotel, it is worthy of being built with more than 5 million US dollars 70 years ago. You can also ride horses in the hotel if you are interested.
🚗Tour route: Jackson Lake Lodge - Oxbow Bend - Snake River Overlook - Schwabacher Landing - Mormon Row
*From Jackson Lake Lodge to Oxbow Bend, there is a junction to the right to Jenny Lake. On the way, you will pass Jackson Lake Dam, fishing enthusiasts can go down to the river to fish.

Thumb Geyser Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
West Thumb Geyser Basin
🌟Highlights:
West Thumb Geyser Basin: Located on the edge of Yellowstone Lake, it was formed due to the collapse of the earth's crust 150,000 years ago. Under the combination of hot springs and lake water, a wonderful spectacle of smoke appears: the smoke is the steam of the hot springs, the green waves are the water of Yellowstone, and they are reflected with the blue sky and white clouds in the background, forming a different landscape from other hot spring areas in Yellowstone. This place is equivalent to the bay of Yellowstone Lake. Many geysers gather here. The colors of the water outlets are diverse. Some are transparent green, and some are dark black like cement. Numerous water outlets present a beautiful fantasy.
❤Reason for recommendation:
Beautiful scenery👍
🗓Itinerary:
If you have time, you can play for three days
📍Detailed address:
Yellowstone Park, Teton County, Wyoming, USA
Check-in at the natural wonder of the world - Yellowstone's Thumb Geyser.
West Thumb Geyser Basin, located on the west side of Yellowstone Lake in the southernmost part of Yellowstone National Park, is named after the shape of its geysers. The scenic area boasts beautiful lake and mountain views, as well as natural landscapes such as geysers, hot springs, thermal pools, hot water ponds, and steam vents. Yellowstone National Park's hot springs ⛲️ are world-renowned, especially the intermittent geysers.
At the Ximuzhi Intermittent Spring Scenic Area, there are many hot springs in the lake, with water spouting from the bottom of the lake in various colors. The colorful hot springs may erupt at any time, with the highest temperature reaching over 70 degrees. Visitors walk carefully on the wooden plank road, taking pictures of the strange world around them. The pools of various sizes bloom with beautiful and charming colors, which are very attractive.
Looking around, the blue sky, clear water, snow-capped mountains, and glaciers are so magnificent and spectacular. Up close, the smoke is colorful and beautiful, and nature perfectly blends such abrupt and magical landscapes into one, making it truly irresistible and lovable...
Explore Yellowstone | West Thumb Basin
Explore Yellowstone: West Thumb Geyser Basin |||Entering Yellowstone from the south gate, the first main scenic area you will see is the West Thumb Geyser Basin. Located on the west side of Yellowstone Lake, West Thumb is named after the thumb-like protrusion into the lake. This basin was formed by a volcanic eruption about 174,000 years ago, and later filled with water from Yellowstone Lake, creating the West Bay we see today. As a result, active geysers can still be seen in the lake water along the shore.
Dozens of intermittent springs and hot springs of the West Thumb Geyser Basin are distributed around a circular boardwalk that runs southeast to northwest. Park your car and take a counterclockwise stroll.
At the southern end of the plank road, there are two pools called Seismograph Pool P2 and Blue Bell Pool P3. These two pools were originally called Blue Pool. After the 7.5 magnitude earthquake in Yellowstone in 1959, some people believed that the current Seismograph Pool may have recorded abnormal activity during the earthquake, so it was given the two names it has now.
The hot springs here range from over 30 degrees to over 93 degrees. Don't be fooled by the calm lake-side P4 hot spring, there may be hidden dangers.
The two protruding banks on the shore are the intermittent spring P5 between the lake banks, which had a maximum eruption of 15 meters in the early last century.
At the corner of the boardwalk, there is a black pool P6. Originally, thermophilic bacteria in black-green and brown grew in the pool, so the pool looked black. However, in the summer of 1991, the water temperature of the pool rose and killed these bacteria. Now the black pool we see is sapphire blue.
Across from Black Pool is a beautiful deep pool called P7-9, which reaches a depth of 16 meters and is one of the deepest hot springs in Yellowstone National Park. The water temperature of the pool reaches 77 degrees and the color changes between emerald green, sapphire blue, and other colors with time and light.
If you come to visit Yellowstone Park, then you will not disappoint the West Thumb Geyser Basin in your must-go list. In the West Thumb Geyser, you can not only see the various forms of geysers, but also the Yellowstone Lake with the mountains as the background.
Sim refers to the Geyser Basin, which is located on the edge of Huangshi Lake. It was formed by the collapse of the earth's crust 150,000 years ago. Under the combination of the hot fountain and the lake, there is a wonderful landscape of smog: smog It is the steam of the hot springs. The green wave is the lake of Yellowstone, which reflects the blue sky and white clouds in the background, forming a different landscape from other hot spring areas in Yellowstone.
There is a wooden paved viewing trail where visitors can walk along the trail and watch the colorful geysers.
Half ice lake, half hot spring, snow mountain in the distance, in front of the pot. Looking up, blue sky, snow and mountains, there is a feeling of unreality.
Jackson Lake Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Jackson Lake detailed introduction
Lake located within Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, USA.
Jackson Lake is located in Grand Teton National Park in northwestern Wyoming, USA. It is a natural lake that was extended after the construction of the Jackson Lake Dam, and there are 15 small islands in the lake.
Located in the northwest corner of Wyoming, Grand Teton National Park includes five connected mountains: the Middle Teton Range, the South Teton Range, Mount Owen, Teewinot Mountain, and Nez Perce Peak, occupying the center of the Teton Range. The mountains run north to south. Surrounding the base of the Teton Range are six lakes, connected by the Snake River, which translates to "Sneak River" and is one of the most important rivers in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, stretching 1,670 kilometers from its source near Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, flowing west through the Snake River Canyon, crossing the entire state of Idaho, and finally joining the Columbia River in Washington. Of the six lakes, Jackson Lake is the largest, with water mainly coming from the Snake River and streams formed by melting snow from the Grand Teton Mountains, serving as the main source of irrigation water for agriculture in neighboring Idaho, which is the birthplace of potatoes and produces 30% of the autumn potatoes in the United States. Meanwhile, the production of kidney beans and lentils in the north also accounts for a large share in the United States.
Jackson Lake Dam
Jackson Lake Dam: Jackson Lake Dam is located in Wyoming, USA. It was built in 1906 by farmers in Wyoming. The dam was completed in 1911, widened in 1916, and rebuilt in 1989. The main function of the dam is to separate Jackson Lake from Snake River. Snake River is a major river in the northwest of the United States, with a total length of 1670 kilometers. It is the largest tributary of the Columbia River. The river originates in Yellowstone Canyon, flows into Yellowstone Lake, and is intercepted by the Jackson Lake Dam in Grand Teton, where it converges into Jackson Lake.
Jackson Lake
Jackson Lake is located north of Grand Teton National Park and is one of the highest natural lakes in the United States, at an altitude of about 2000 meters. Later, due to the construction of the Jackson Dam, Jackson Lake was further expanded and widened. This is a must-see stop on the way from Salt Lake City to Yellowstone National Park, where you can see the reflection of snow-capped mountains on the lake, which is very beautiful.
💎Jackson Lake | A sapphire lost in the world
🏔Jackson Lake in Wyoming, USA, is like a royal sapphire embedded in the state. It is one of the largest lakes in Grand Teton National Park.
🚤As soon as we arrived near the lake, we immediately decided to rent a rowboat to explore the lake and take in the beautiful scenery of the surrounding grasslands and snow-capped mountains.
🎣You can still go fishing. My friend loves fishing on the boat. There are many types of fish, such as trout, cod, and salmon.
🏕If you like camping, there are also camping sites here. You can camp in the forest with high oxygen content. Take a deep breath and feel refreshed, as if you have been rescued from the pressure of life. Empty yourself and let nature heal you.
🚶🏻There are also some hiking routes in the park, with different levels of difficulty that you can choose according to your preferences. The most famous one is the hiking route to Grand Teton Peak in the southern part of the park. Grand Teton is part of the Rocky Mountains, with peaks reaching up to 4,200 meters, making it a favorite spot for photographers.

Grand Prismatic Spring Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
The water fluctuations of the large prisms - Yellowstone Scenery 3 (below)
Stopped on the path of the "Great Prism". For a long time, this is the largest hot spring in the United States with a diameter of about 100 meters and a water temperature of 85 °C. And the world's third-largest hot spring, watching it flood the ground to 2 tons of huge water per minute; these hot springs flow and paved a steaming, misty fairyland, known as the "Earth The most beautiful surface".
In the absolutely original region of "Great Prism", everyone who comes here will see different paintings at different times and at different angles, seeing all the magic and all kinds of impossible .
Perhaps because of a minor earthquake yesterday;
perhaps because of the impact of the groundwater level;
perhaps because the geothermal heat of the basin is again sprayed a lot;
where the water surface of the large prism occurs every day Change, every day shows magic.
When I was on the trail when the morning mist had not yet dispersed, as the thin clouds covered the sun, the clouds opened the sunrise, until the blue sky and white clouds left, the steam, light and shadow, ripples of the large prism spring surface were intertwined. Together, there is an epic and fascinating ecological picture.
Although the closer to the Grand Prism Hot Spring, the more you can't see the full picture of the standard, but the closer the distance, the water wave under the front of the foot is at your fingertips, it seems to be able to appreciate the heat around it, it seems to be able to hear It is gentle and mysterious. I chose this "immersive" with an unparalleled feeling.
United States/Grand Prismatic Spring/Soaking in the hot spring inside the rainbow!
Grand Prismatic Spring is the largest in the United States and the third largest in the world. It is about 75 to 91 meters wide, 49 meters deep, with a water temperature of up to 85°C, and about 2,000 liters of spring water gush out every minute. This is a color-changing fairy lake. In winter, it is emerald green, and with the arrival of spring and summer, it will slowly turn into a highly saturated orange-red. This is due to the chlorophyll in the microorganisms in the lake changing with the seasons.
Scenic recommendation

Dragon's Mouth Hot Spring: Named for its rhythmic steam and tongue-like water flow, the sound is like a hiccup
Grand Prismatic Spring: The Grand Prismatic Spring is also one of the most famous hot springs in Yellowstone Park. Very suitable for check-in photos📸
Painter's Palette: The colorful landforms are the characteristics of this attraction, with hot springs, mud springs, jets and intermittent springs combined, it looks like a paint bucket

Grand Prismatic Spring→The beautiful surface of the earth~God's overturned palette
Located in Yellowstone Park, the Grand Prismatic Spring is the largest hot spring in the United States and the third largest in the world, with a width of 75-91 meters and a depth of 49 meters, and it gushes out about 2000 liters of 71-degree hot water every minute. In 1871, it was discovered by geologists and named Grand Prismatic for its striking colors. It is named 'the most beautiful surface of the earth'. Walking along the wooden plank road built in the park towards the Grand Prismatic Spring, it seems to have left the earth and entered another planet.
It is formed by the Firehole River, which is formed by countless hot springs gushing out.
Under the sunlight, a large area around the Grand Prismatic with wrinkles on the ground emits magical reflections. It's incredible! The bright blue-green-yellow-orange-brown forms a strange and deep big eye on the surface of the earth, making you unable to move your eyes.
✅Two ways to open the Grand Prismatic Spring
Close view
There is a pedestrian wooden plank road around the Grand Prismatic Spring, which takes about 40 minutes to walk around. Come and see the local part of the Grand Prismatic Spring. It is not only the hot spring pool that is beautiful, but the surroundings are really too magical, like a big eye, with long eyelashes. Once again, it is simply outer space, there is such a magical place on earth!
Walking near the close-view plank road of the Grand Prismatic Spring, you can clearly see the texture it leaves on the surface of the earth. It looks beautiful from a distance, and there is a sense of vicissitudes and mystery when you look close.
In the Grand Prismatic Spring pool, it is in the mist, with a strong smell of sulfur, which makes me remember this place with smell. It feels like being in a palette, with all kinds of colors. If I hadn't come in person, I wouldn't dare to imagine the surface of the earth so boldly.
Distant view
To find this viewing platform, you need to continue south from the Grand Prismatic viewpoint for 1-2 miles, there is a Fairy Fall Trail sign on the right, enter a not too large parking lot to park, and then follow the Trail all the way forward for about 10 minutes, until there is a small fork in the road, the left is the viewing platform of the Grand Prismatic, I remember the sign says overview, the right road continues to run Fairy Fall Trail, after turning left, about another 10 minutes walk, the whole journey is about 1.6 miles.
Sunny day strategy☀
The best visiting season is from to every year, try to avoid going on cloudy days with a lot of water vapor. When I went, the weather was too good, I saw the most beautiful look of the Grand Prismatic as I wished, almost cloudless, the blue sky made the Grand Prismatic Spring bluer and clearer.
Can you believe this is real? 🌈
➡️Fun fact: The Grand Prismatic Spring is the 3rd largest hot spring in the world and the largest in North America 😲
Also, don’t forget to take a helicopter ride to enjoy this fascinating view!
