Bamboo Rafting & Sea Turtle in Khao Lak, Phuket
#rafting #100waysoftravel #thailand
During my trip to Khao Lak, I had the opportunity to experience bamboo rafting, and it was unforgettable. Gliding down the calm waters surrounded by lush greenery provided a serene escape. The gentle sway of the raft and the sound of nature made it a perfect way to unwind.
After the rafting, I visited the nearby Sea Turtle Conservation Center. Learning about their efforts to protect these magnificent creatures was both enlightening and inspiring. The center's commitment to conservation and the chance to see baby turtles up close were highlights of my visit.

Khao Lak Beach, Phuket.
Khao Lak Beach, Phuket🏖️ I'll be back!
I stayed at Khao Lak Beach for 2 days so I wouldn't have to get up early to go diving at the Similan Islands.
I was amazed by the beautiful sunset at Khao Lak Beach on the first day! Another unforgettable romantic experience.
There aren't many shops nearby, so I booked a resort hotel with a variety of dining options, desserts, a gym, and other entertainment facilities. The desserts were delicious, and my favorite part was the pool with direct access to the beach! You can see the beautiful sunset from there. The beach is directly accessible from the hotel, and the sand is soft and fine, so it doesn't hurt to walk on it! It's so comfortable to soak in the pool and watch the sunset!

6 Fun Facts About Similan Islands You Should Know Before Visiting
1️⃣ Accommodation
Similan Islands are quite far from Phuket. If you stay at the three main beaches, it takes 2 hours just to get to the pier. Therefore, it is recommended to stay at Mai Khao Beach, which is 1 hour away from the pier, or Khao Lak Beach, which is only 15 minutes away. This way, you can sleep longer~ Remember to choose a boat that offers island-wide transfers, such as Lightning No. 7~
2️⃣ Day Trip
There is an entrance fee for Similan Islands, also known as the national park ticket!!! Packages like Lightning No. 7 include the ticket fee💰~⚠️ However, some boats exclude this fee to attract customers with lower prices. They will notify you to pay extra after booking or charge the ticket fee at the pier.
3️⃣ Itinerary
Similan Islands consist of 9 small islands. A typical day trip includes 2 diving spots. It is recommended to choose a boat like Lightning No. 7 that offers snorkeling first and then island hopping, so your hair won't get wet, making your photos📸 look better~
4️⃣ Check-in Spots
Island No. 8 is the main island of Similan. The famous Sail Rock is located here‼️ It is the iconic landmark of Similan. From the top, you can overlook the bay, making it a classic photo spot~
5️⃣ Attire
Shoes are not allowed on Similan Islands❌. Lightning No. 7 provides snorkeling socks to prevent foot injuries or burns~
6️⃣ Diving Equipment
Reputable day trips like Lightning No. 7 provide free diving equipment, such as towels, diving masks, life jackets, snorkels, and disposable mouthpieces. However, some boats charge extra for these! Make sure to check carefully!

Good places to go in October | Similan Islands, Thailand
#Great Places in October 2024
The Similan Islands means "9" in Malay, which means that the archipelago originally consisted of nine granite islands and has now expanded to 11 islands, becoming part of the Marine National Park. The park is located in Phang Nga Province, Thailand, 70 kilometers offshore on the Andaman Sea. It is only open from October to May of the following year and has limited quotas.
The Similan Islands have beautiful scenery, clear water, and soft white beaches, which are far better than Phi Phi Island and Emperor Island near Phuket. However, it takes a long time to set off from Phuket. You have to set off at 5 or 6 in the morning. It takes two hours to drive to the pier, and then take another hour and a half by boat to reach the island. The tour time is only 3 to 4 hours. , and can only return to the hotel at nearly 8 o'clock in the evening.
There are many options for one-day tours, but you need to pay attention to details such as the type of boat, the order of landing on the island, and meal arrangements.
Amazing views from National Islands Park
Back from Similan, here are some tips for you:
⚠️No matter what kind of boat you take, don't expect too much from the food😂. The food on the yacht is better than that on the speedboat, but still not as good as that in a restaurant. After all, you are at sea.
-
⚠️No matter what kind of boat you take, you will be picked up at the hotel at 5–6 am🚗, or 7 am at the latest, unless you stay in Mai Khao or Khao Lak. So, go to bed early the day before😪, and don't be late. The pick-up is a carpool, and the driver has to pick up other tourists. If you are late, the driver will leave👋.
-
⚠️Snorkeling🤿 is a must in Similan. The water is so clear. If you don't go snorkeling, why bother to go so far? If you can't swim, but want to try, it's ok. Just wear a life jacket🦺. Most boats in Similan offer 2–3 snorkeling sessions. You can try it, and give up if you are scared.
-
⚠️There will be more and more tourists after Similan reopens. Although there are free soft drinks on the boat, don't drink too much unless you are thirsty. Drink some water after snorkeling. There may be a queue for the toilet on the island or the boat, and the environment is not very good😂. The yacht is more spacious and cleaner.
-
⚠️The Similan day tour is tight. The snorkeling time is counted from the moment the boat stops⌚. If you have a diving certificate, you can choose a liveaboard tour. The schedule is not tight, and you can dive to see more mysterious underwater views🦈.
-
⚠️The panoramic photos and videos of Similan you see online are taken with permission. Drones are not allowed in Similan National Park🙅. You will be fined💰if you are caught.
-
⚠️Take a photo of your passport📷 and save it on your phone before departure. Similan will conduct random checks. You will be fined💰if you don't have your passport.
-
⚠️If you want to take photos during the tour, you can turn on the live photo function on your phone📱. Some Android phones also support live photos. If not, you can record a 4K video, and then take a screenshot or convert it to a live photo.
-
⚠️Bring some Thai baht with you. Although tips are not mandatory, you can tip the crew if you are satisfied with their service. You may feel more at ease if you tip the crew to look after your bag on the boat🚢 or when you go snorkeling☺.
-
⚠️If you are not sure whether you will get seasick, take a seasickness pill💊 30 minutes before departure. If you can't find it at the pier, ask the tour guide.

Similan is a budget Maldives.
In all of Thailand, only Similan can be called a small Maldives, and the price is more suitable, and there are many ways to play. 👏
-
💰Budget:
Not a very high budget, so I chose the Wind Chaser at a price of 600+, because it is a new ship in 2024, just launched, purple and new and beautiful.
-
🚗Journey:
Living in Khao Lak, the driver came to pick me up at 7 am (if the previous guests were late, the pick-up time would be later), no need to get up early and be energetic all day! When you arrive at the pier, you can have breakfast, take seasickness medicine at this time, and get your snorkeling equipment.
-
🌊Go to sea:
Around 10:00, go to Island 4 first. Most of the one-day tours are snorkeling first, but this boat directly goes to the island during the peak season. If you have makeup, it is very suitable for taking pictures at this time. The beach is very white and soft, and there are hermit crabs. You can also see corals and sea anemones and other marine life in the nearby waters.
👇
Around 11:45, the first snorkeling 🤿 in the waters near Island 8, and then go to the island to have lunch here. After eating, you can relax here, or you can climb the mountain to check in at the sail stone. Overlooking Similan from the sail stone is a classic way to check in.
👇
14:50 to Island 9 waters for the second snorkeling 🤿, in addition to Nemo fish, it is also easy to meet big turtles here 🐢
👇
The trip ends around 15:30 and returns to the pier by boat. After enjoying dinner 🍱 at the pier, the driver starts to send people back to the hotel all the way.
-
✅Experience:
🔹The Wind Chaser can pick up both Phuket and Khao Lak areas~ because some boats do not pick up (you need to ask clearly)
🔹This is a double-deck catamaran, and it looks good to go to the second floor for sightseeing and taking pictures.
🔹The pier of this boat company is clean and the service is also good. Snorkeling can also provide flippers, but you need to pay a deposit, and you can return it.
🔹Many boats go to Island 8 to climb the sail stone as soon as they set off. At that time, there were many people and they might have to queue up. This boat only went in the afternoon. The jelly sea was sparkling in the sunlight, and the photos were very beautiful, and there were slightly fewer people.
🔹Unlimited fruit on board, and the meals are also very detailed, with vegetarian meals and children's meals, taking care of many people.

Diving in Similan is so much fun!
#watersports My diving adventure in the Similan Islands was absolutely unforgettable! Known for their crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life, this destination is a diver's paradise.
From the moment I plunged into the water, I was greeted by an underwater world bursting with color. The coral reefs were teeming with life—schools of fish darted around me, and I even encountered majestic sea turtles and playful reef sharks. Each dive revealed something new and breathtaking.
The visibility was exceptional, allowing me to fully appreciate the stunning formations and rich biodiversity. The dive guides were knowledgeable and passionate, sharing insights about the marine ecosystem and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
One of the highlights was exploring the famous Richelieu Rock, where the variety of species was astounding. I could have spent hours marveling at the underwater beauty!
Diving in Similan
#watersports Just returned from an incredible diving adventure in the Similan Islands! The underwater world here is absolutely breathtaking. From the moment I descended, I was surrounded by vibrant coral reefs and a stunning array of marine life.
One of the highlights was spotting a majestic manta ray gliding effortlessly through the water. The visibility was exceptional, allowing us to see up to 30 meters in some spots. I also loved exploring the dramatic rock formations at East of Eden, where we encountered schools of colorful fish and even a curious turtle.
The dive guides were knowledgeable and made every dive safe and enjoyable. Each site offered something unique, from the serene landscapes at Richelieu Rock to the thrilling currents at other spots.
Let's go see the mist!!!!
This is the mist viewpoint on Khao Khai Nui, located in Phang Nga province.
Up here, it's very peaceful, like being embraced by nature.
The journey up is a bit challenging; you can't take your own car and need to hire a vehicle. But trust me, it's worth it for the amazing atmosphere.
If you're visiting Phang Nga and want a quiet place to stay with forest and mountain views, stay at Khao Khai Nui.

If you're visiting Phang Nga Province, consider staying here for a night. You won't be disappointed! The atmosphere is especially amazing when it rains. The house we stayed in has a balcony in front of the room and an open area for barbecuing.
For food and drinks, you should prepare and bring them with you. They provide a hot water kettle and an icebox.
At Khao Khai Nui, you can enjoy both the sunset and sunrise. The house faces the sunrise, and on some days, you might even see fog.

The accommodation in Phang Nga.
The place is very beautiful, with a natural atmosphere inside. The food is delicious, definitely worth a thumbs up. The swimming pool is 1.5 meters deep, which is very satisfying. It's a beachfront accommodation. When we stayed, we were in room 510, which is next to the pool but doesn't have a sea view. However, sitting on the balcony and hearing the waves crashing on the shore was another kind of enjoyment. Loved it a lot. If I have the chance to go to Phang Nga again, I will definitely return.
Kamila Resort and Villas Khaolak : Stay with Happiness
I stay here one night with warm welcome from all staff. It looks nice like a paradise. You can stay here all day long without travelling other places because there are many activities here and nice meals. (Japanese restaurant and dinner at hotel)
For outdoor activities, you can go into the lake by Kayak boat and Paddle board which are so fun and safe. Natural atmosphere in the hotel is so impressive and you can go to the beach beside the hotel that has so nice view.
One day here was my productive day and good quality of life to stay here In addition, I love breakfast buffet that is a variety of food and sweet.
The important thing is all facilities that make you happy sush as large swimming pool and big room with all comfortable functions.
You will love here certainly. It is such a perfect place for me!

Similan Island is surprisingly awesome❤️🥰
#phukettrip
My first stop on Phuket Island, driven by the diary of V Similan Island, was what I was most looking forward to. I waited for Milan to arrive early on the day I booked the Rainbow and stayed near the airport. The driver arrived around 6pm to connect to these Milan docks. There was a self-service breakfast at the docks, and there was also Kakang County. I slept an extra time in the morning and went out without makeup to use this time for makeup. However, it turned out that Minggen didn't necessarily have to go snorkeling on the first island. After finishing makeup, I closed my eyes and quickly arrived at a destination that didn't feel the long and painful journey.! I suggest that if you want to go to Milan, you can stay near the airport on the first day and change hotels at night. The driver can arrive at a nearby hotel around 9 o'clock. You may need to stay at a hotel in Katakalen for another half an hour or so. After sleeping for another hour and a half, you will arrive. After boarding the ship, there is still about an hour and a half to travel. Taking seasick pills in advance may cause some inconvenience. If you bring luggage, you will need to pay a seat occupancy fee. When returning home, we stay at Chalong Pier. It is recommended to bring a set of jellyfish personal clothing when going out to sea. I came back on the same day and had a bikini print for sun protection. This sunscreen has no sunscreen effect
Similan Island in Phuket is so beautiful❤️🥰
#phukettrip
You must go to Similan when coming to Phuket! The beauty that was originally planned to go straight out, for those who love the Glass Sea, go straight ahead! I have visited many islands of all sizes, and the sea blue of Milan is very different, so beautiful that I can hardly speak of it! 1 Six in the morning: Help pick up (Phuket Town) and arrive at the dock at about eight o'clock. The Chinese will be exiled to a small boat. Each person uses the color of their wristband as a unit. Breakfast can be served between the waiting dates, including Congee, sandwiches, Kakuang County and desserts. The use environment does not like to eat many flies. If you don't want to eat, you can take some sugar, fruit and seasickness medicine. Seastar Rainbow got on the ship at about 9 o'clock. The position on the ship is not important. Free towels are provided, and the mask is dark; Floating diving shoes and waterproof phone cases need to be brought with you, and there are also some expensive ones at the dock, around 390 yuan. It is recommended to buy them in advance at Deca or Central Phuket to measure when you were not on the boat when you were a child. You can go to the sixth island for floating diving first. I haven't gone underwater yet and will go to the second floor to take photos. You can also take two dives first (it is recommended to go to the ninth island again in the dark). On the fourth noon, you can have lunch on the fourth island. The lunch is very simple and backward, with only winter Yin Gong soup and explosive chicken returning. After finishing the meal, you can go to the beach and take some photos. The rocks and rocks next to it are very prominent. It is recommended to take more beach photos here, as there may not be enough time later

Andaman Sea Hidden Gem: Princess Island of Similan
#myhiddengems
The incredibly beautiful transparent sea, snow-white fine sand, complete with granite rocks and tropical vegetation, is breathtaking. I want to soak up this beauty and remember it for the rest of my life.
Undoubtedly, Similan and the most wonderful island of this archipelago, Princess Island, are one of the most beautiful places in Thailand. Therefore, I recommend that all friends and acquaintances go on this particular tour. If you prepare for the trip correctly, then good impressions and a lot of beautiful photos are almost guaranteed.
You can get here only during the dry season, when this national park is open to tourists from October 16 to May 15.
The easiest way to get to the paradise of the Similan Islands is to buy an excursion with a transfer from a hotel in Phuket.
To get to Similan from Phuket Island, you first need to drive 53 km north to the port of Khao Lak. Then, on a speedboat, you can rush through the waves and sea expanses to the Similans for another hour. The boat is likely to shake violently, so it's worth taking motion sickness pills 30 minutes before boarding the boat (sold at any pharmacy or given at a briefing before boarding the boat).
It used to be possible to get to Similan on your own (without an excursion). When there were tents on the Similans and it was possible to spend the night, there was a boat from the pier to the islands. To date, there is no such regular communication with the islands.
Princess Island, like the other islands of the Similan archipelago, is a granite island of volcanic origin (which makes them all look like the Seychelles). The island is covered with lush vegetation and snow-white sand in the bays. Of the living creatures on the Similans, land crabs of impressive size and Fruit Bats. Fruit Bats are also called flying foxes or flying dogs and they are 100% vegetarians. There are a large number of hermit crabs on the islands.
But all of the above are just dry facts. The main thing that attracts thousands and hundreds of thousands of tourists to this island is certainly the incredibly beautiful turquoise sea and snow-white beaches.
