Climbing the castle tower offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire lake region. 🌟 Exclusive experience recommendation: Sit at a café in the old town, order a cappuccino, and watch the snow-capped mountains shimmer in the distance—100% therapeutic. 🚞 Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe Riding the world's highest-altitude cogwheel train to the summit of Jungfraujoch was the most spectacular part of this journey. Departing from Interlaken, the train winds through snow-capped mountain tunnels and glacial platforms, finally reaching the "Top of Europe" at 3,454 meters above sea level. You can visit the Sphinx Observatory, standing on the edge of the Alpine ridge to overlook the glaciers, or step into the Ice Palace and walk through ice tunnels adorned with crystal sculptures—like entering the real world of "Frozen." 🌟 Note: The thin air at the summit may be challenging, so take it slow—every step is worth savoring. 🌲 Lauterbrunnen Valley, Interlaken District Dubbed the "most beautiful valley in Switzerland," it lives up to its reputation. The entire valley feels like a place where fairies dwell: 72 waterfalls cascade vertically from towering cliffs, with mist swirling through the valley—serene yet awe-inspiring. The most spectacular among them is Staubbach Falls, plunging nearly 300 meters directly into the valley, making it one of Europe's highest free-falling waterfalls. With its around 42000 inhabitants it is rather small but worth visiting. It is the gateway to excursions to the Bernese alps. We strolled through the old town and had. rest at the Aare river (photo 2). Getting There - by car or train from Berne Attractions - 1. Thun castle was built in the 1100s (photo 8&9) from where you have a beautiful view over the city. We walked through the old town where we like most Obere Hauptgasse (photo 4) 2. Boat trip on lake Thun 3. Schadau Park with its castle which is a restaurant and hotel and 4. Wocher Panorama 5. Obere und Untere Schleuse built in 1723/4 (photo walk over the wooden bridges (photo 1, 6&7) 6. Art museum Hotels - 1. Krone 4* 2. Congress Hotel Seepark 3. 🇨🇭 Many people visiting Lake Thun head to the southern shore towns, such as around Spiez - 🚡 This time, we stayed halfway up the north shore in Beatenberg, and with the Swiss Pass, we could take the downhill cable car to the lakeside for free, so we decided to spend a day exploring the north shore of Lake Thun - 🏘️ The towns of Merligen, Gunten, and Oberhofen on the north shore are quieter and more local compared to the south shore, with better views directly facing the Alps - 🏰 There aren’t any particularly stunning spots along this line, so there were almost no other tourists along the way. The most iconic site might be Oberhofen Castle, a castle built by the water, though unfortunately it’s closed to the public in winter - 🚌 Bus 21 connects these towns perfectly from Interlaken to Thun - 🫟 If you enjoy slow travel, the north shore really offers that “Swiss lakeside living” vibe -

The second-class seats on the cruise are on the first floor, while the first-class seats are on the second floor, with fewer seats available in first class. When we boarded the ship at Interlaken West Station, we directly sat in the second-class area without needing to queue. We could enjoy meals at our seats, along with local beer and wine. The service was excellent, and we had a wonderful time. Boat stations: Interlaken West Station - Neuhaus - Beatushöhlen - Sundlauenen - Beatenbucht - Merligen - Faulensee - Spiez Train Station The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. We recommend taking your time to enjoy the stunning scenery of Lake Thun.

10 Days 9 Nights Switzerland & Germany Trip in October Day 1: Hong Kong via Frankfurt to Interlaken If you have a Swiss Travel Pass, you only need to buy a DB train ticket from the airport to Basel Bad. Be prepared for delays on DB trains; in fact, we were only informed halfway through our journey that all passengers had to disembark at Basel SBB. We were originally supposed to go directly to Interlaken, but now we had to carry our luggage and transfer several times to reach Interlaken. For those with a budget, I recommend the First Class Swiss Travel Pass (STP). First Class is less crowded, has spacious seats, and charging stations at every seat, making it very travel-friendly. For first-time visitors to Switzerland, the STP saves time researching and purchasing tickets. If it's not your first time in Switzerland, I suggest buying a Half Fare Card, which should save you some money throughout the trip. 🌏Grand Café Restaurant Schuh A restaurant next to Höhematte Park where you can enjoy your meal while watching parachutes descend. Since the indoor area was booked out, we were seated outdoors and had to find our own seats; the staff wouldn't assist us. It was afternoon tea time, so there weren't many main courses. We only tried Swiss steak with fries, lamb salad, and hot chocolate. Swiss beef is very lean, with almost no fat, so it didn't have the same rich, fatty flavor as steaks from other countries. However, there were plenty of fries, and it was quite filling for two people. 🌏Lake Thun River Cruise The entire cruise lasted 2 hours, departing from Interlaken West. The most beautiful section was from the start of the cruise to the first stop. First Class STP holders can ride the cruise for free and enjoy the views from the top deck. Along the way, you'll see Schadau Castle and Thun Castle. The entire cruise can be a bit boring; I recommend getting off at the first stop and taking a bus to Thun to see the castle. 🌏Interlaken Hotel Residence Jungfrau Classic chalet design with a kitchen, but the facilities are a bit old.
