Although the official website offers packages, my friends and I calculated that following their suggested route and booking everything ourselves would be cheaper. So, we decided to go for a DIY trip. After completing the journey, we found it quite manageable (in terms of preparation, navigation, etc.), so it’s definitely worth considering. While some people manage to visit all these places in just one or two days, we preferred a more relaxed pace, spreading it out over four days and three nights. Slowing down really made the trip more enjoyable. Our itinerary: oslo → myrdal (one night) → flam → gudvangen → voss (one night) → bergen (one night) → oslo Transportation: oslo → myrdal: train myrdal → flam: train (Spectacular views! The train even stops for a close-up view of a waterfall.) flam → gudvangen: cruise (Traveling through the fjords—absolutely stunning!) gudvangen → voss: bus (You can find the bus stop on Google Maps. Just hop on and pay with your card.) voss → bergen: train bergen → oslo: train Total transportation costs: approximately $2000-$2100. Accommodation: flam: Flåm Youth Hostel (good) voss: Scandic Voss (Highly recommended! Super convenient, right next to the train station, and the breakfast is delicious.) bergen: Citybox (good) Additional Information: 1. Voss has a cable car (Voss Gondol). Unfortunately, we didn’t do much research beforehand and found out it closes at 3 or 3:30 PM and opens at 9 AM the next day. We arrived too late and didn’t want to wake up early the next morning, so we missed it. There’s a swing at the top that looks pretty fun. 2. Bergen also has a cable car (Fløyen). It’s reasonably priced, around 200 NOK or less. While there isn’t much to explore at the top, the view is great—you can overlook the entire city. Definitely worth a visit! Many locals use this area for hiking. If you don’t want to pay for the cable car, you can hike up, but it will take longer. 3. Norwegian restaurants are honestly not recommended. Even for someone with low expectations for food, I found them overpriced and not tasty. One meal is enough for the experience. Instead, I recommend visiting local supermarkets, where you can find affordable and delicious salmon sashimi—highly recommended. 4. Weather significantly impacts the scenery and overall experience. Different weather conditions create different atmospheres, but if you’re particular about it, check the forecast before heading out (though weather can be unpredictable). Regardless, just enjoy the trip when you’re there! :>

The standard double room at Scandic Voss is not very large, only 19 square meters, with just a shower and no bathtub. The room rate includes breakfast and is nearly 7,000 New Taiwan Dollars per night, which is quite expensive. #Cable car The Voss cable car station is on the other side of the train station. Just follow the signs along the way. The cable car will only open until 5:00pm. It is not recommended to go there after 4:00pm as the staff may close it early. Taking the cable car to overlook the Vangsvatnet Lake is amazing, it is really beautiful. As the car slowly goes up, the scenery becomes more and more open. You can see the whole picture of Voss, just like a painting. #tripcom5th Anniversary Oppheimsee is a lake located in the north of Voss, Westland County, Norway, about 3 km east of Venijen. The lake covers an area of ​​3.55 square kilometers. European highway E16 runs along the north side of the lake, passing by Opheim Church in the small village of Opheim, from which the lake gets its name. It is one of Norway's most famous and visited waterfalls: a multi-stream, cascading waterfall, rising approximately 150 meters (some measurements say 110-152 meters). It appears as numerous threads of water flowing over rocks and is especially beautiful after rain or in spring. Staying at Scandic Voss Hotel in Vossavangen was a wonderful experience surrounded by Norway’s breathtaking mountain scenery. The hotel’s modern Scandinavian design creates a cozy and relaxing atmosphere, perfect after a day exploring Voss or taking the scenic Norway in a Nutshell route. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and offered stunning views of the mountains and lake — a true treat to wake up to. One highlight not to be missed is the breakfast buffet. It was absolutely amazing — a wide spread of fresh bread, pastries, fruits, cheeses, cold cuts, and hot dishes. You’ll also find unique photo spots like the giant swing and oversized chair. Visiting the Sognefjord brought us to the charming town of Voss, with the main goal of taking the train to Myrdal and then boarding the Flåm Mountain Railway. Little did we expect Voss to be so enchanting, surrounded by mountains, lakes, and rivers. This place is also a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. The weather was exceptionally good that day, with lakes, meadows, green mountains, blue skies, and towering white clouds creating a truly healing scene.
