Lakes Lodge Okataina
4.1/520 Reviews
Okataina Lakes Lodge / 27 September 2024   Finally on our long awaited break, and home free, a truely great location, right on the waters edge, just my beautiful wife and me. The lake water lapping, the Tui in full song, the brisk natural fresh air, perfect for relaxing all day long. The peaceful bush walks, the welcoming glow worms, the amazing stunning sunsets and the occasional lake bird squarks.  With the most comfiest super king beds, and oodles of space in our room, such welcoming friendly hosts,  a perfect combo….boom!! The drive not an issue, no restaurant, no stress, they gave plenty of warning and we came well prepared. A stay I will always remember, such a soleful, relaxing, stunning place, we totally recommend a few nights stay here to escape your own rat race We will be back without hesitation, to a place you can easily find zen, thank you so much for opening this up to the public, a pure unassuming and easy 10 out of 10.  Wayne and Emma Millar
Cosy Cottage Thermal Holiday Park
3.8/554 Reviews
On the edge of the lake, surrounded by green space so is peaceful but still only a few mins drive to supermarket and attractions. Spotlessly clean, no musty motel smell or horrid air fresheners, room seemed recently refurbished and was bright and clean. The kitchenette was modern and well equipped with the basics. Swimming pool and hot tubs were great. Communal showers were clean. No time limit on the showers like at some campgrounds! Definitely would stay again.
Kuirau Park Motor Lodge

The motel is located in the city center and is convenient for travel. The boss was very enthusiastic and introduced a lot of useful information. Thank you again!
Astray Motel

When I went there was a Chinese receptionist. I don’t know if the boss is Chinese, so the communication is very smooth. A typical motel, the room is simple but enough, it is very close to the parking lot, and the sound insulation is average. If you don’t sleep well, please think twice or prepare earplugs. The location is very good on the main street of Rotorua, not far from the government garden and Polynesian hot springs. If you drive, the parking spaces in the courtyard are limited and you may not be able to park. The parking spaces are full and you can stop on the street. It is recommended that the boss prepare a check-out key box. This can be checked out quickly without ringing the bell every time you go to the front desk
Blue Lake Top 10 Holiday Park
4.3/551 Reviews
Many people come to the Blue Lake in RVs and yachts. Needless to say, the scenery of the Blue Lake is so beautiful. Sitting by the lake relaxes your teeth and scalp. The resort has separate toilets and shared toilets/bathrooms. Mostly locals come for water sports and swimming/camping, very few Chinese tourists. It is recommended to bring a swimming ring or surfboard from January to March. There are no restaurants around, so we brought instant noodles and tomatoes on our backs. After eating a few days later, we took a 10-minute taxi to the Landing Cafe next to Terawera Lake to eat. The beach was very lively on a sunny day, filled with children and adults with dogs🐶 Come and play in the water. The lake is crystal clear and opposite is a volcano. You can talk to local people with yachts and let them drive to the hot water beach at the foot of the volcano for a hot spring♨️.
Rotorua Thermal Holiday Park

For the price, this holiday park was fine. Know what to expect—we had only a cabin with two beds, a table and two chairs, and a space heater. The bathroom with toilet, sink, and shower was in a separate building. If you are used to camping, this is a step up. If not, this may be rough for you. Management should consider adding heaters to shared spaces, like the toilets, kitchen, and laundry. We traveled in winter and it was cold!
