The Angel Hotel

The hotel is conveniently located to walk to all of Cardigan town centre. Parking is limited immediately around the hotel but we found a free car park about 3-4 minutes walk away on Gloster Row - turn right at the Red Lion and it's by the river. The room was large and had recently been refurbished to a high standard. It had a large super king size bed with a comfortable upholstered headboard to lean back on. There is plenty of storage space with a wardrobe and drawer space there is also multiple double electric points to plug in or charge your phones etc. The TV has limited channels, but we weren't there to watch TV, so not a problem and we took our own tea and coffee out of preference. A small hairdryer is available to use and ther is an iron & ironing board in the wardrobe. The bathroom is also spacious with a walk in shower cubicle and modern toilet and wash basin. There is shampoo, shower gel, handwash and moisturiser in refillable bottles with pump dispensers. Plenty of hot water and towels, which were changed once on a 4 night stay. There is no bar or meals served at the hotel, but there are plenty of independent cafes, restaurants and bars nearby. Reception is only staffed from 3-9pm, and the staff were all friendly and polite. You can access the hotel with your room card at any time via a side entrance, but remember to leave your card in your room or the downstairs box when you leave. The hotel is home to Cardigan's only nightclub on occasional weekends which would make the place very noisy, but we were there Monday - Friday and it was very quiet. Would definitely recommend as a base to visit Cardigan and the surrounding area.

This was my fourth return visit to this hotel which is always clean and supported by friendly staff. The accommodation block is set across the car park from the restaurant/pub which means you are not disturbed by noise in the evenings. You can access the hotel without going through the one way system in Aberystwyth if you wish but the centre is still within very easy walking distance. Will be coming again no doubt.
Harry's Hotel & Restaurant

On a first visit to Aberystwyth & wanting to stay in the Town Centre, found a dearth of reasonably priced accommodation so selected Harrys based on TA reviews. Premises are 4 adjoining Victorian/Edwardian 3 storey terraced properties, with a ground floor Restaurant/Bar, close to the main shopping area & Promenade, so well situated. There is no lift, so having some mobility issues glad to get a room on the 1st floor, though still only reached by 2 flights of stairs. Our room was billed as ”deluxe”, and although a decent size, was equipped with furnishings that must have been at least 30/40 years old; the wardrobe even had a broken mirror. However the bathroom had been renovated & had a decent walk-in shower. Sadly the decor could do with an upgrade, stains on the bathroom painted walls, cracks in ceiling/wall junctions(see photos) & worst of all the toilet door wouldn't close. To their credit the Hotel management, had the door repaired on our second day, after we told them about it. Also the ”settee” at the foot of the bed was past its sell by date & the flat screen tv must have been at least 10 years old, with poor sound. All in all, if this was a deluxe room, heaven knows what the standard rooms were like. However the room was clean & well serviced & the bed comfortable. Only had breakfast here, no complaints, good variety available, in a nice dining area, with good service. Hotel is situated in a one way system, with restricted parking outside, but has it's own small car park at the rear. Overall, staff were friendly & helpful; provided good service & the accommodation served our needs.
Four Seasons Hotel

Right by the sea, super beautiful! Sea view as soon as you go out! It's like a big homestay! There are about three rooms, and each space is ok. Downstairs is the living room and dining room, which is very suitable for several friends to play.
Cardigan and Celtic Bay Guest House

little gem of a place to stay, right on the promenade, with a sea view from my single room, room was lovely, nicely presented with a comfortable bed and nice clean toilet, staff on desk at check in very friendly , took me up to room and carried my bag for me, for a couple of nights stay it was perfect, there was no noise from other guests, or from the road outside, where there was free parking, i had no trouble finding a space to park, for a seaside town in the middle of summer the location was brilliant, i will certainly use this guest house again as a midway point to visiting friends further down the coast.
Gwesty'r Marine Hotel & Spa

Pros - Very pretty location, view from our deluxe double room was stunning, especially at sun set. All the standard amenities you’d expect from a modern hotel, free on site parking is also a plus. Staff were very pleasant. Lovely having a jacuzzi bath even though we didn’t get time to use it. Very handy location, close to main shops, bars and restaurants. Breakfast was ok, cooked breakfast options and cereals etc & a small selection of fruit. Spa facilities are limited but were nice and quiet Cons - given its location, the exterior decor requires quite a bit of maintenance Inside is quite dated and simple things like our bathroom door not closing easily, bathroom tiles being made to fit around the bath instead of perhaps making into a recess for shelving, bathroom mirror light not working, no safety rails in front of sash window etc. Regular maintenance could solve all this. Floor levels through out the hotel are not level, which is made especially difficult when the carpet disguises this. Can be quite a hazard for more elderly guests. Again simple things at breakfast like someone greeting us at the door for our room number & table, napkins on tables, labels on fruit juices to identify what they are (especially for allergy purposes), tea spoons for stirring sugar were all missing. Not much lighting in the sauna and jacuzzi was quite cold. Fix these little things and it will go a long way to improve a hotel which has so much more potential. Will we be back? Possibly, perhaps when these easy to fix things are resolved

First of all, location of this pub/restaurant/hotel is great, just by the sea promenade! Staff were really friendly throughout my visit and the hotel was well maintained. My room was on the third floor, keep in mind that it's a bit of a climb to get up there, if you have a lot of luggage or find it difficult with stairs, I would recommend the first floor. Room itself was very clean, while small, it was well planned and the bed was comfortable. Sea view was amazing, you could hear the waves roll in! Bathroom was also small but fine, shower was great! Only downside apart from being quite small was that the windows were quite dirty, which was a shame given the view! Breakfast was very tasty, felt like quality food! I also had one dinner and it was also good, with a fine selection of ales to choose from.

Arrived at the hotel to be told we weren’t there as they were full. After a phone call we were sent to a partner hotel, to be told we weren’t there either but a new apartment on the sea front!!! The lady checking us in walked us to the apartment, 5 mins away, and we were super impressed!! We had a wonderful night there, so comfortable and we’d fully recommend it. It’s on the 4th floor so had a great view out to sea. Parking is on the road wherever you can find a space. In the morning we walked back to the Four Seasons for a hearty complementary breakfast. After the initial confusion we were totally pleased with our stay.
