Sint-Joost-ten-Node
I spent a couple of nights in this hotel and to my surprise the atmosphere matches the (visual) story the website tells. It's a relief compared to many other hotels I've stayed in. It's almost as if you're in some classy exotic holiday hotel. The Botanic gardens right outside the hotel make up for the lack of atmosphere of the area... although the location very near the North train station is very convenient. The informally clothed staff are young, very friendly and energetic. The bar at the top floor of the hotel is a nice surprise! One of the Barista guys went out of his way to tell me about many details of the hotel and its philosophy, gave tips of where to go and what to see... all the while busy preparing mean coffees. (Scruffy beard, earring... Petey?) If you need to stay in Brussels for business (or pleasure of course) I can only imagine it must be a relief that some hotel chains do understand how to make you feel at home. (I'm regretting now not stealing the nice mug from the room!)
Aloft Brussels Schuman

European District
This is a good hotel. I stayed March 25th - 27th of 2024. It’s an Aloft hotel. Breakfast is basic, the gym is good. It’s not a great location but it’s okay. I would recommend checking hotels that are closer to Brussels Central. The Rooms are okay. The air conditioner takes awhile to kick in. I stayed in room 701. There is water damage to the wall next to one of the windows. It was raining the morning I left and, I was woken up by the sound of rain. It’s a good hotel. Not great but good.
